InWithTheAshes Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Gonna be playing a lot more Guilty Gear now, met a couple of people that live nearby who do offline a bit. Millia or Slayer. Someone gimme the rundown on these guys? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Oh, you fortunae Teesider you. Anyway, while it's probably better to check within respective Character forums, here's some knowledge: Millia: Excellent oki, often making the opponent have to basically guess two/three times per knockdown. Has the pin, maybe the best air to ground move in the game, is amazingly safe for getting in. Does low damage, but the aforementioned amazing oki helps with that. Very mobile, with general speed and two airdashes. Very little defensive options, the only real one being a sort of decent reversal super. Slayer: Not as powerful on oki as Dizzy, Millia or Eddie, but still above average. Absolutely hilarious abare, getting at the very least reasonable confirmable damage from almost any hit. Has the highest practical maximum damage potential in the game (lol CH DoT). Can really suffer in neutral, due towards the short range of his moves.
YukiBlue Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 And Persona is awesome, I'm seriously loving the game. People just need to grind of out past the scrub phase and put in a bit more work in neutral. I love 2 button DP's tbh. It really makse the bait and punish aspect of the game shine, since no Yu player can block on wakeup. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Tenrai Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Well both characters are equally as fucked Yuki, however i believe in the +R Remake Slayer got hit a tiny bit harder with the nerf bat then millia. From what i've seen millia is an extremely fast rushdown character who has average damage output but is looking to end each combo in a hard knock down. This is so that she can set up her hard slash disc, which keeps the opponent in blockstun allowing you to go high or low, do the same combo and repeat until they either find a way out or there dead. However because of her bad health it is very important to be a moving target with the character otherwise you will die very quickly especially as if she doesnt have a dp of sorts (i havent seen any millia players use one anyway) Slayer is just a close range god, he's got amazing close range pokes that go into hard knock down or launcher (depending on how much meter you have). Once you have 25% tension then the party can start with crouch hard slash (launcher) into force break big bang upper into combo, which when done right can easily remove 40-50% health. Plus on hard knockdown with his dash being a teleport he can very easily set himself up for a high low mixup allowing him to go back into hard knock down or big bang upper combo. However he suffers from a bad neutral game and can easily get zoned out, and although his pressure is good because all of his combos and strings are links there are holes in which the character can backdash and escape his pressure, which puts slayer at a disadvantage immediately. However seeing your character is Chie both characters can suit you quite well, however Millia would suit you more imo simply because Millia has the same mixup tool as Chie (that being a move which keeps them in blockstun for days, allowing you to do whatever you want with them). Hope this helped

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk All of this, people which say the DP and autocombo's make it a casual noob game are noobs themselves. As yuki mentioned DP's are punishable, the hold to tech lets the offender make tech traps work more effectively and the autocombo's fuck your combo up if you are mashing. Whilst BB's fights feel more 'epic' something about persona makes it feel more 'hype' mainly the speed, OMB's and sick damage from FC's
Zoular Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 You can cancel R action into supers on block and hit, they also got plenty of invulnerable frames, all out attack has armour, and then there's status effects. The game is only noob friendly when there tools that hasn't got a lot of draw backs.
Tenrai Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 the Heart of Gaming are running a GG tournament over at http://www.twitch.tv/thewonderpark/new i believe its starting in 20 minutes, should be interesting to watch and see who enters
Cyberman-worf Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 (edited) Hello new to the dustloop forums, not new to fighting games, relatively speaking. Maybe a year or so since i started. I like would to meet or play some of you guys. Would there be anyone close to the Worksop area? Edited June 8, 2013 by Cyberman-worf i missed a word
YukiBlue Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Have a look at the first page, pretty sure Kanashimi noted down all out locations, I'm on my phone so I can't confirm if its still there or not. Welcome to Dustloop, man. You'll find a lot of GB players in this thread and a few more (Including a real life American) in our Skype chat. - On another note. Naoto SMP is some FAIR STUFF. I just robbed a guy of 7.5k in the corner from 5A with 50 bar. This character rocks. Inb4 patch to SMP glitch Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Tenrai Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Just want to say cheers for InWithTheAshes for the games of GG yesterday, was great to see you down here and fucking me up with some dizzy naughtiness, once im back in the area will definitely give you a shout in regards to future sessions and tournaments at edgehill
InWithTheAshes Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 fucking me up Lol that was actually my position. But yes, thanks for allowing me to come. It was a fine thing to play against someone I could see for once and, even though I was destroyed consistently in it, telling people about things in GG. I'll try playing a slight amount more KoF: It may help me within terms of actually trying to get in, rather than being a constant turtle.
YukiBlue Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Decided to 'bite' the bullet and main Slayer in GG. I'm just practicing his basic strings and finding out what functions certain normals serve but I have to say. This guy is fun to play. Hopefully all this time and effort won't be in 'vein' some some links like 2K > 2D can be a 'pain in the neck' Lets just hope I don't 'suck' with this character whilst I look for my 'necks' victim. ojay Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 don't worry yuki, you'll be fine, 2k > 2hs is easy as pie.
Adam0812 Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 (edited) now i know everyone is hating on xbox one but reading this "Xbox One will enable new forms of access for families. Up to ten members of your family can log in and play from your shared games library on any Xbox One. Just like today, a family member can play your copy of Forza Motorsport at a friend’s house. Only now, they will see not just Forza, but all of your shared games. You can always play your games, and any one of your family members can be playing from your shared library at a given time. for me this is ideal, im an adult, i do not go round to a mates house to play games anymore, instead i play online daily with mostly the same people. if family constitues as "anyone on my friends list" I can have monolith and afro in my "family" and when we're playing persona one night i might say "hey have you guys played fez" "no, no we havent" well ive bought it so feel free to play it through my shared library. say what you will but that is cool. the main benefit for me personally is i buy alot of indie/xbla games that do not neccesarily get the main stream exposure bigger games do. Now i can let up to 10 people, my friends, my brothers, play my entire library through their console for free with me having to send a retail disc via post to teeside or london. and on the subject of used games, if i like the game, i will support the developer and buy the game. whilst i do use lovefilm for games, its for games that im indifferent about and probably wouldnt mind not playing anyway Edited June 10, 2013 by Adam0812
The Katz Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 All I read was "Big Brother is Watching You." Jokes aside, PS4 is getting Dark Souls 2. Automatically more important. Also for indie games just go on steam or a site for that kind of stuff or some shit. PC needs loving, too.

And even if big brother is watching, who the cares, they already have my credit card details. What do you really think they're gonna do with information about the heart rate of a bunch of reclusive nerds

Adam0812 Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 I mean, that feature's pretty cool, but it's one good thing in an ocean of bad things so far. A lot of the bad things we've heard (excluding kinect) are issues sony have yet to comment on, I will be surprised if xbone and ps4 are any more different than ps3 and 360 are once the dust settles
Adam0812 Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 microsoft fanboy alert Not at all, ill end up buying both, I just want the best gaming experience and for me that's online more than anything, Xbox live is just better for fighters especially.
