ThunderboltZ28 Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 We are destined for a new general thread soon. Though it'll have to wait until her replacement is announced. I thought general threads were banned?
Lord Pwnge18 Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 I thought general threads were banned? There's never enough activity in this thread for one of the stick-up-arses to really do anything I'd imagine haha
Mu Nova Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 Tsk tsk, Misae. You leave dat ass for... dat... fabulous. Okay, he really is fabulous, I can't blame you much. But still! *shakes fist* (Bullet may be tempting me, but at least I am/will still be maining my favorite blonde cyborg person!) You posted at such an odd time, but thankfully I never went to sleep, so, welcome! Take your coat off and relax, perhaps your waifu would like some tea? Ah, thank you! Lol, and sure, Bullet could use some tea. >.> Tea is nice.
Lythium Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 Not so much activity around here lately. I did play some BB last night at biweeklies after not playing it for a bit. It's still pretty fun, but I'm enjoying my Persona hiatus for the moment. How are you guys all doing?
susano Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 Not so much activity around here lately. I did play some BB last night at biweeklies after not playing it for a bit. It's still pretty fun, but I'm enjoying my Persona hiatus for the moment. How are you guys all doing? After failing hard with Shadow Labrys, I switched to Akihiko and Yukiko. Still training ass off. I may take a break from P4 and just play some BB tonight.
Lythium Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 I'm also subbing Yukiko! Brofist. She's weird and I like her so far, but I haven't put a lot of time into her yet.
SolarMisae Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Yukiko's zoning is weird. I wish BB wasn't a dead game right now and playing wasn't beyond zzzz
Lord Pwnge18 Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 I think I've already had my fill of P4's shenanigans, back to BB for me :x
SolarMisae Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 I'd probably be enjoying Persona more if I had more local matches to play. (read: ANY local matches to play) Most of the time the connections I have with people are terrible to the point of making it unplayable. I can deal with some lag but I like playing FGs not watching power point slide shows.
pochp Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 I'm really enjoying persona a lot, all the locals are leveling up at more or less the same speed so weekly ranbats are really close and you never know what's going to happen. I actually won last week's with some lame resets and a lot of luck, shadow labrys is a beast. Local scene also grew since, a lot more randoms and people coming from different backgrounds... Feels so refreshing from playing BB with the same guys all the time. Training up for summer jam next weekend, but I know I won't have time to get all the shit I would want to down, and I won't know my matchups well enough. I still enjoy BB a lot, and not playing it for a couple weeks made it pretty fun to go back to. Also, playing shadow labrys gave me a lot of ideas of stuff to do with mu. I really hope they won't take the character out in the next version -_- still kinda worred about that, even though if she keeps secret last boss status and gets a nu/lambda replacement or something like that it'll be awesome. Anyways, next weekend you guys should watch the summer jam stream if you can't make it, it's gonna be really hype.
Cryingvoid Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Also about to strike Persona when it is out in my region. BTW what is it you like about the game the most? You know, I've had my worries in terms of simplifications to the basics. But, well, okay, they've simplified the basics so that everyone could get into it and have relative fun without grinding anything. But what about the top edge? Is there still enough advanced stuff and combos left worth grinding and dominating?
pochp Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 imo both characters I'm playing, mitsuru and shadow labrys, are harder to execute than Mu. It might not seem that way from watching videos, but the low hitstop on everything compared to blazblue makes it a lot harder. It's also less autopilot to get out of pressure. Less wakeup options, anti chicken block mechanics, less efficient backdashes (I think), nerfed instant block, no barrier, no DP RC... you really gotta play your opponent, know matchups, and not be like "lol DP RC" or mash backdashes and hope for the best. that said, dp cancel into super is dumb.
Cryingvoid Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Wow, that's harsh I have to admit... ))) Mu players know cheap get-away stuff lol Also, thinking of playing "Charlotte" and Labryses too ))) Again, gotta be Mu's influence But! You've listed not the advanced stuff but limitations, compared to BB... though they make it a lot harder indeed. Also, it is only Mu's back step that is so godlike in getting out of stuff. DP RC is actually a smart trump card with its price (50 meter). It's cool IMO.

They can't turn around after you block the uppercut, so just dash under it for a free punish. Also Tit-suru is only hard to execute it you're going for the just-frame charged normals.
Lord Pwnge18 Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 It's always so exciting to see our little speech bubble lit up next to Mu's name = w= Means I get to see more of you guys <3
SolarMisae Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 Yukiko feels much harder execution wise versus Mu, but only because like pochp said, the hitstop in this game is so much less to the point sometimes I feel like I have to mash to get stuff out.
Lord Pwnge18 Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 I mash on MBAACC with my keyboard, being wireless fightstick is suffering. Len da bes
Cryingvoid Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 Changing the topic, don't you guys think Mu is too broken? I mean in terms of autopilot stuff of godlike frametraps by her insane normals? I find myself realizing that it is almost impossible to play against her with casual skills and matchup knowledge. Comparing for example my efforts and efforts of any average player in Mu match, I really feel like autopilot, winning at 2:0. I come to think her base moves are really too strong and need nerfs. Of am I over thinking things? Give your opinions!
toanenadiz Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 I think you are crazy and overthinking things. But I am not quite sure where you are coming from. Are you saying she is overpowered if both players were equally skilled casual players or is the Mu player better than the casual player?
pochp Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 Didn't you guys play MB or GG? Lol. hm? I said it was harder than Mu/BB, not actually hard itself. I still can't get titanomachia combos consistently though, haven't practiced them enough. disclaimer : my execution isn't that good. I'm a fraud who plays may in gg. I only picked up MB in CC, and I'm not very good at it. Changing the topic, don't you guys think Mu is too broken? I mean in terms of autopilot stuff of godlike frametraps by her insane normals? Of am I over thinking things? Give your opinions! I used to think that too, but a lot of characters have tools that can giver her a hard time... and a lot of other characters have very strong tools as well. You can only autopilot up to a certain level, strong opponents that know the matchup force you to think. Though sometimes you can still get away with bs, and there is some stuff that could be nerfed.

Are you saying she is overpowered if both players were equally skilled casual players or is the Mu player better than the casual player? Well, the first for the most part. All average players just fall apart. And most decent players need 5 - 10 matches to adapt. My point, it is just boring with average players for Mu. When you finnish combos you win; when you drop combos you win, when they beat you to "danger" state, you win (with one 5C hit in the corner). Even if you don't care at all you'll win with Mu against average players just repeating basic scripts. You don't get such boring luxury with lower tiers )) Pochp is geting my point.
