toanenadiz Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 I figured Mu players would be used to being hated by now. It's like you're the new Noel.
Dont_Explain Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 (edited) So much Mu hate going on in the PSN thread, it's so heartbreaking ;~; We hate all the characters. It's BB so we have to start with one, then eventually it turns into "Fuck em all" People just salty they don't know the matchup, don't know how to bait DP, keep getting CH by 5C/2C/jC, and need to retake Spacing 101. Just keep feeding on their delicious tears. Hmmmmm.....sounds familiar. Like a certain "braindead" character I play. Edited June 27, 2012 by Dont_Explain
SolarMisae Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 Oh we're hated now? When did that happen? When I still played I remember Mu being too rare to hate. When I first picked her up the boards were like, a ghost town. Back when Agi was still the only mod and C0R Was still called Corinthatic. (if I remember the spelling properly.) The days of untechable 3C and [2B > 6A > j.C > j.2C]x3 corner loop which was boring as all hell~ I miss this game being more popular. I want it to stop dying.
toanenadiz Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 Don't you know that by now D_E? No one ever really wants to consider their own character as braindead or stupid. Well except for people who like their character to have stupid and braindead things (like Lambda's 4 and 236D)
SolarMisae Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 Ragna is pretty braindead when he's on offensive. Less so on neutral/defensive except for inferno divider. But if it gets baited well fuck lol. Mu is braindead when it comes to BnBs, imo. Her combos are stupid easy for stupid damage. Even her sub-optimal routes do stupid damage. Other than that she's a pretty complicated character overall. It depends on how you define a braindead character.
Dont_Explain Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 (edited) Weird cause I think Lambda's 4, although hard to block, takes some skill to make it a guessing game of a high or low. I don't mind getting hit by it considering Ragna destroys her when he gets in. 236D is the only thing that I even remotely hate. Ragna is dumb and I've come to terms with that. I just don't play dumb therefore I don't win. Edited June 27, 2012 by Dont_Explain
Zeromus_X Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 Oh yeah. Since we're mentioning CS1. The other day I was messing around with Unlimited Mu and realized the Unlimited chars are basically their CS1 versions with new stuff slapped onto them. So Mu's 5C and 2C were all slow as fuck CS1 speed, her gatlings were all weird (5B > 2B > 5B > 2B wat), and she could still do her old combos like the corner loop I had almost forgotten how to do. It was pretty lulz and nostalgic. I remember all the illegitimate setups people came up with before we really knew the "right" way to play her.
Lord Pwnge18 Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 I wouldn't call Mu braindead, but that's because she is a wonderful, pure maiden ;-; And I work hard with her, goddammit.
Dont_Explain Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 I wouldn't call Mu braindead, but that's because she is a wonderful, pure maiden ;-; And I work hard with her, goddammit. Feel the pain of every other Ragna player. At a low level, I think half the cast is scrubby as fuck. Higher level play everyone takes skill. Ragna still takes the least, but I can say from personal experience he still gets blown up, especially if you dont have patience....something I lack lately
Starlight777 Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 We hate all the characters. It's BB so we have to start with one, then eventually it turns into "Fuck em all" Wow that sums up the way I feel about this game perfectly. About the Mu hate, all I have to say is that Mu is Noel and people already hate Noel. It's no suprise that Noel's hate would transfer over.
toanenadiz Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 Weird cause I think Lambda's 4, although hard to block, takes some skill to make it a guessing game of a high or low. I don't mind getting hit by it considering Ragna destroys her when he gets in. 236D is the only thing that I even remotely hate. I don't think 4B[2] is braindead. I do think it is stupid though. Why does a zoner need the fastest standing overhead in the game that does 3.7K meterless and builds enough meter so you can always end with giant sword and get 4.7K? Even taking into account that you have to space it, I still think it is stupid. And I love spamming it.
Fluck Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 (edited) You can beat 4B with a mix of normal block/IB/barrier/IB barrier, it messes up the Lambda's spacing very well. Until someone tells me a way to overcome that, I don't view 4B as a threat. My only problem with Mu is that she has a DP. Why does she need it? They should have given her stronger zoning tools and removed the DP. I play Ragna so...I feel that playing Ragna still requires fundamentals, people lose mostly because they don't have in-depth Ragna knowledge. Edited June 27, 2012 by Fluck
toanenadiz Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 If you are blocking her 236D oki, it is easy to space regardless of what how you switch up your blocking. And the Lambda wouldn't go for 4B[2] unless she was at the right spacing anyway. At least I just sort of notice I am at the right distance and do it then rather than trying to get it from the start.
Fluck Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 Well, it's worked for me when I tried it because of how different the knockback from barrier IB and normal block is, I've gotten Lambdas to do the dual hit or whiff often enough that I no longer view it as scary. I can only speak from my own experience though...It's entirely possible that you just have a better sense of spacing, Toan.
mAc Chaos Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 People just salty they don't know the matchup, don't know how to bait DP, keep getting CH by 5C/2C/jC, and need to retake Spacing 101. Just keep feeding on their delicious tears. stay mad son
Lythium Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 Don't worry about it, Pwny. Haters gonna hate and all that, so just walk on with yo' coo' shades. My only problem with Mu is that she has a DP. Why does she need it? They should have given her stronger zoning tools and removed the DP. Because DPs are cool. :V
SolarMisae Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 Why shouldn't Mu have a DP? It's awesome and looks awesome. I know those aren't real reasons but they're MY reasons.
susano Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 ...I suck at reacting to Hazama's chains and it's bothering the crap out of me.
Lythium Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 I used to have that problem as well until the Haz match-up just clicked for me one day. I think it was copious amounts of fuzzy balls. You can do it!
pochp Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 Oh yeah. Since we're mentioning CS1. It was pretty lulz and nostalgic. I remember all the illegitimate setups people came up with before we really knew the "right" way to play her. yooo I totally did that too. it felt so laggy and stiff I was confused. Though the unlimited SoD is really good, I hope it gets added like a forcebreak or something in BB3. midscreen 6b SoD dash 5c 6c habacan 6a 6b 5c 6c fun stuff. corner ... SoD 5c 2c j.c j.2c 2b 5c 6c... ugh j.2c was soo bad back then except for the CH. this character is fun: air dp, no repeat prorate on 6b and I even forgot to play with 214d. but wtf no 2c 5c gatling I had really forgotten that one.
Zeromus_X Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 stay mad son I ain't even mad, man ... I know right? "Ice Spike" breaking two primers is lol, so is double airdash, Dizzy tier. CS1 Mu was so bad (at least compared to the top tier in that game) though. She got alright reward but few ways to enforce her gameplan. She could break primers like nobody's business though; if I replayed CS1 knowing what I do now I would just go for the guard crush all day instead of anything else.
Nemesis Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 ...omg charged lasers break guard primers.... that was so broke
