I always thought Arcsys was a cut above the rest when it comes to English VA's. Not the best, but not too terrible.

Tager's is amazing. Nuff said.

I love Ragna's Japanese and Litchi sounds like a chicken no matter what language.

As for Makoto, I don't care what language, I'll still like her :L

Same. Both of her voices are surprisingly good and fit the character.

i'm just saying that the translation isnt accurate and makes her sound "horny" as mentioned before, while the japanese is more passive and enjoyable

I don't know which is really her definitive personality. She's basically all of these things. Our little squirrel has several personalities...

I believe that her real self would be the Japanese version (because, it's her original voice) and it's just way more cute too, but that's me :MK:

I like it because it's not the typical overly girly high pitched voice you usually hear in most Japanese animes. It's a deeper, more powerful voice full of emotion, and to be honest, it's actually impressive when she's fighting. And it's lovable and cute when she's not being all serious.

I have also noticed a few more personality traits on her voice from Set A to Set B. Set B sounds more like she's trying to be funny in both Eng and Jap, while voice Set A is a slightly more serious tone. Then both go full-blown pissed off when fighting Relius or Hazama. It's interesting now that I look at it on Extend's gallery (but where is the "vs Relius" quotes!? Did they forget to add them!?)

Yep. They are not there at all, so the only way you can hear them is actually fight Relius yourself with sound and music off. Great...

And I doubt they will ever patch this anyways, so if i'm up for it after getting a decent sound recorder/ripper, I may try uploading ALL of Makoto's in-game voice samples, Japanese and English, just because no one else has yet. And I will try to set a download link too one day.

Hey guys, I'm kinda curious on your take on a few things. I kinda doubt Mori would put the type of depth in his characters as a good manga, since at the end of the day it's a fighting game, but I was thinking why do you think "Alexandrite" was the gem chosen for her theme, and why "Butterfly" sky for the vocal. Alexandrite is a precious stone that is green in daylight and turns red in artifical light...but obviously it has a poetic aspect to it. And butterflies...they can symbolize many things...:sweatdrop:

Stones and butterflies come from nature itself. Look at Makoto's emblem, and you'll see a diamond shape embellished with leaves, vines, and trees. It's a beautiful emblem, and the shape reminds me of such precious stones as Alexandrite. It's also the stone of love and passion (or courage and virtue, forgot which, could be all of these) and it suits Makoto very well I believe. It's not toally obvious, but if you look deep, like you said, it can symbolize many things. Most of the things it symbolizes is nature itself.

The most typical symbolism for butterfly is usually beauty, which Makoto obviously is. As for sky... She can send you straight through it in a beautiful (and painful) way, lol. That, and the sky itself is a part of nature and is beautiful in its own right, but I don't think I want to go through the moon to see it that up close.

The more obvious thing is her being part of nature herself, being part squirrel and all. If taken seriously, she's a deep character. Another reason why I'm a big fan of her. ;)

TVTropes has a long-winded analysis for this type of stuff. There's a significance to all the names for the character themes.

As for the ENG vs. JP thing, the JP voice fits her better (BB being a Japanese game after all) but the English voice isn't too far off. I'd like to know what my character is saying but sometimes Cindy Robinson (look that name up on Wikipedia for lolz) gets on my nerves so I flip back and forth. Saying a move's name as you use it is better done by the JP voice actor. Both of VA's capture her hyperactive nature very well though.

And just so we're somewhat back on topic, Goro's ability to hit-confirm is jaw-dropping. He capitalizes on 95% of his touches no matter how awkward they are. He'll get that damage and knockdown and pressure you some more. His movement and spacing is just unparalleled too. Plus, not getting hit for 80% of the curse duration was sick (especially against Souji's Arakune). I need to watch the archive again.

EDIT: Dear Waifu: stop being $225 dollars USD so I can buy your figurine. Thanks.

The UK store that sells it allows you to pay in weekly or monthly instalments if you harass them enough and after you finish paying, they give you the figure.

Maybe you could ask your store?

Not gonna lie, buying something like that at that price seems crazy unless I run into a influx of cash, no matter how big of a fan I am. By the time I can get that kind of money after all my other purchases, it'll roll into the 300-400 dollar range.

Found it way cheaper from a friend of mine, he sold it to me for $60, so I avoided the little monopoly going on. It's actually really neat and nicely detailed. But... Her boobs seem... I don't know... Bigger? lmao, not that it's a bad thing, but I could have sworn they aren't that big. (Unless you look at Makoto's Chrono Phantasma artwork, she hit Litchi status)

Now just waiting for my arcade stick.

Yeah, because in actual gameplay, she's not all that big, but somewhere decently sized. Still a nice figure though, and can't wait for Chrono Phantasma to come out. Maybe we will see some improvement on her in that game. Imo she didn't totally suck in Extend, at least her nerfs were not as hard as Rachel's in CS1. From what I heard, Rachel was damn-near unplayable there. But still, Makoto got nerfed way more than she deserved, so hopefully they fix her up and make her somewhere around Mid-upper tier, to where she's not too good to where she is abused, and at the same time, not totally helpless either.

Arcsys* doesn't seem to know how to nerf/buff a few characters the right way sometimes. Extend was decently balanced, but it was balanced in kind of a lazy way.

ArcSys*, I also hope Makoto gets "fixed up" in BBCP, I really wanna sub her

and Tao

, and Chrono Phantasma seems like a good place to do so...

maybe let myself get Astral'd by Amane a few times

That brings up an interesting question. Does Tao turn into a Kaka Kitten during it? That would be cute. I'm assuming she does. I haven't seen any pics yet, but I have seen Makoto's, Jin, Ragna, Valk, Noel, Hakumen (bit confused at this one, he turned into some kind of dog-like thing), Hazama, and Relius.
