But Xrd is coming to PS3. So why not get a PS3? I can imagine the price dropping soon, when the PS4 is released.

Because probably ps4 will be the tournament standard (in the eventuality that ps3 version will run worst), so...

I guess there is still time thou, I'll keep an eye for some offers on ebay.

About FRC, i think it was said already, but it's all about muscolar memory, so everyone have its "tricks" to learn them (audio, visual etc) and then will come natural only by training and time.

If it can run on PS3, the differences in performance will probably be minimal. The only problem would be whether or not there's cross-play online (since I know of people who prefer playing on the same console as their friends), and only time will tell if that's a feature in Xrd.

As for FRCs, my own experience is that those "tricks" are okay for starting, but only for starting; once you start adjusting to the timing, you'll have to commit it to muscle memory to the point that you don't even need those cues, or you'll just miss them more often than not in actual play.

One of the recent interviews they stated that they're still researching if cross console play would be possible.

that would be sweet if they actually fixed glitches for US. The JP +R fixed some really minor bug I noticed that doesnt even effect gameplay, but still has the freezing OS stage and still doesn't have the random and stage bgm select, and the char option still disappears... so yea no idea if the patch is actually a fix or just a port of the JP+R. whats all the shoe pics for, a kick in the nuts?

on the ps3 version you can hit R+L while music selecting to go back to the character option. no idea why they did it that way and why they don't have random and stage like the xbox version, but there you go. i don't think it's a glitch, just a really weird ui choice.

Don't think it's been mentioned, but another small bug in the PS3 version was that only the player selecting music got a different song. The other player just gets one of the two character's songs

So I've been out of the loop as of late and heard the +R console patch had dropped since I'd last played. Can someone tell me if the patch has dropped in the US and for some reason I'm unable to download it or is the console patch just in japan/on jpsn?

If I'm asking this in the wrong thread I apologize and if someone could redirect me to the appropriate thread that would be awesome. thank youuu

JP PSN only right now. The NA release date is bullshit sometime before the end of the year.

Had a freeze on ABA's Slash stage.

During a aerial DP with Sol in the top right corner of the screen while comboing Axl.

You can't play on ABA and Order Sol's slash stages in the PS3 version, it applies to both AC and ACR. And no it's no character specific, the ps3 just always freezes after playing a bit in those two stages. The other slash stages are fine though.

Has there been any news on the whole Macros/Pads controversy and stuff. I want to get the Japanese Patch, but I'm not sure I want to get it If I'm unable to play with a pad.

Macros are borked in every version; doesn't matter if it's +R, AC+, or PS2.

If you want to play in tourney, you'll need to learn to play sans macros. That's the verdict.

Playing pad is fine, but using macros is not. As a pad player myself, I really don't think playing pad without macros is hard. Putting H on R1 and D on circle (PS pad) makes it even easier, but the setup takes a little getting used to (and makes OS throws way easier).

If your community is based around an arcade, they're probably going to want to get a cabinet anyway. Just learn to play without macros, and maybe invest in a stick if you can afford it. They're totally worth it after you put in the requisite hours to not suck at using one. If you're going to do that, you should probably wait until Black Friday. I remember the Qanba sticks were discounted through some online vendors around that time last year ($129.99 for a dual modded stick with sanwa parts is pretty good). If you're committed to pad, do what Mumm-Ra said.

Get the patch anyway. You can always just disable the +R balance changes if you don't like +R (not playing +R because of the macro bug is silly, though lots of people I've talked to don't like +R, so we'll see where that goes I guess...). Unless you're talking about buying the game a second time to get the patch early, in which case I wouldn't recommend it if you're not going to use the primary function of the patch. That's just dumb.

So, simply just don't try to use Macro's, and they'll be very unlikely to happen.

And it shouldn't be a huge problem, because I only usually just play online, and other then SMP loops in P4A, I don't rely on glitches.

Speaking of arcade cabinets, if Sega's ALL.Net P-Ras MULTI service is anything like VF.Net or NESiCA then would there really be any point in importing since it would have to be connected to Sega's servers to even operate, let alone software updates and ranking information?

Uh... if you don't assign a macro to a button, you can't actually use it. There's no "very unlikely" because you can't use something that's turned off.

Is that the kind of cabinet that Xrd is supported by? I thought +R was supported by the stuff AC is supported by (or some other easy-to-update thing that doesn't involve server connectivity), so there's no worry on importing a +R board as far as I know.

original Accent Core runs on NAOMI (as every main game did since GGX, except GGX 1.5 and GG Isuka as those ran on Atomiswave)

Accent Core Plus R runs on RingEdge 2, Sega's current arcade board

I wonder how many GG arcade cabinets are in the US. How many are outside of California?
