Errol Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 People who get angry at Astral finishes are retarded anyways. One way or another, you LOSE. Doesn't matter if you eat a distortion, a combo or an astral. If someone's gonna throw a temper tantrum because they went out in a blaze of glory to a kickass finisher...well. Too bad for them? When I see the opportunity to astral, if I can combo into it and secure the match, I'll do it. What incentive do I have not to? Besides the whole making the match take 20 more seconds thing which was already mentioned, there's the question of whether you are really just seeing the opportunity to astral and doing it. Sometimes, it ends up being stuff like dropping killing combos so you can attempt an astral, etc.. and ggs to Akira-Shiro
Starlight777 Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 I think the only reason people get mad at Astral Heats is because they got styled on by some impractical finisher that shouldn't land in common circumstances. Otherwise I see no reason to be upset at something that's a part of the game.

Not having to worry about my burst. Not having to worry about dropping a combo just to satisfy Astral conditions since as soon as they get below the health limit and 100% you can do it now. The input is easier.... All entirely different from trying to hit people with Bang's Astral...which still happens from time to time.

Moy bodied my shit because I don't know what to do with plat on defense or neutral. He was playing harder than usual so maybe I'm better? GGs Moy. Haha, if you hadn't used that Itsuu when I did that run-up Gold Burst, that match would have been mine. Yeah, I'd say that you're getting better but you choke when you pressure me, allowing me to 5A my way out for free. That and neutral, still gotta work on your neutral. Edit: As for Astrolls, the way I see it, if you drop the finishing combo or drag the match out just so that you can build the meter for the Asstroll (guilty), you're probably going to piss the other guy off. Not only are you sandbagging but you're also doing it for the sole purpose of further humiliating the opponent. If you have the meter handy and the next combo/setup will allow you to Asstroll the opponent, then go for it since it's not a very common thing to have the 100 Heat, the Burst, and the opponent close to dying or surviving the combo up until the AH part. Like people have said, we've all seen all of the AHs at this point, countless times for that matter. Going way the hell outta your way to try to AH someone just makes you a huge dick and it's a waste of time. Not to say that I haven't done that in the past and that I'm not a dick for doing it lol. However, if you naturally meet all of the AH requirements without doing anything unnecessary, then I say go for it. Edited May 18, 2013 by Moy_X7

If you're going to win anyway, why not do a snappy quick little combo that kills them quickly and move on the next match instead of doing a long, drawn-out sequence that essentially just takes up time? A great example is how me and my friend, when we actually played MK, stopped doing/practically never did Fatalities because we were so damn tired of seeing them and wasting time. I AH all the time as well but I just figured I'd supply the opposite point of view. I think there's a difference between Mortal Kombat and BlazBlue though. When you do a fatality, it's because you've already won the match. That I can understand. Astrals in a match are a lot more rarer when you're playing seriously. For example, I was playing a friendly match with Nemesis one time, Ragna mirror and I caught him in a back throw midscreen. I didn't realize until partway through my combo that I had the right condition for an Astral, so I finished my combo in Black Onslaught, and that was all she wrote. I've intentionally tried going for Astral and dragged things out before, but more often then not I'll try and close out the match quicker when I know that by holding back I'm just gonna get my butt kicked anyway. Situational at best, but awesome when pulled off, that's how I feel about Astrals used intentionally in combos or as punishes.
