Hey what's up man? Haven't heard from you in a while, how's Cali been?

I just found this topic the other day, I'd have been posting here ages ago had I known it existed lol. I've mainly kept up with Glitch and Seth cause we have skype/aim and we text stuff and it sucked kinda losing touch with the rest of the peoples so once I noticed this topic I felt like saying hi instantly. My skype is dreiko-sama so feel free to add me and we can talk more often from now on. :D

Cali's alright, fucking hot though. It's still around 80 during mid-day half the time and anything over 75 is too hot for me. Lots of Asian and Hispanic stuff around, it's nice but I do miss CT.

Doing shoutouts to a Maryland player (I think) in the NE thread?

I couldn't remember which thread it was. I heard Virginia.

I think we might as well keep track of the games won/lost. To me, it'd make sense to sort the order by matches (3/5 sets) won, and just use the win/loss ratio for tie breakers.

Okay, I thought you meant to use total games won when we talked last week.

My vote goes towards the total wins and losses idea.

Tales, do you mean games won (2/3 rounds) or matches won (3/5 games)?

I would prefer to choose using total matches won

For tie breakers, blueNINE prefers to use total games won, I'd prefer to do a tie breaker game if we have the time and fall back on total games won if we don't.

I'm going to continue keeping track of both for now.

Anyone else have thoughts? Katz? Mindgam3? Rainbow Mash? Genstov? Noisetank? . . .

Mindgam3 your PM box is full.

I deleted all of Tales's messages, so I should now have room.

Those who are going to Guilty Madness may stay over at my house the night prior, which is for all intents and purposes the closest location relative to NY out of all the people commuting. Not only would we be able to play games the night prior, but it would also be the most realistic way to do the round robin business so that Vyers everyone is happy. PM for an address if you don't already have it.

Bleh. I wish I had known that, so I could've taken Friday off, too. Oh well, I'll know if I'm working and need someone to cover for me on Friday by the end of today.

Edit: Vyers, I meant the 3/5.

Edit2: Not working Friday. I'm fine with whenever.

This is mostly for convenience's sake, since I know only a select few like to do 3+ hour commutes the day of a tournament. If you can't take off work, you can just arrive at my house later, or the next day if that's convenient for Vyers your ride.

Jeremy, to you I extend my most gracious thanks. It turns out that Genstov has work till 10pm Friday and can't come, at least not the night before. He might be on time to meet up Saturday morning depending on when you want to head out. He reports above average chances of Nazgul entering the Madness.

On another note, in order for your car to play music off a memory stick does it require a specific program/file type/folder organization?

Tales+Katz: I'll call you guys Friday when I'm ready to roll out; Katz, you can probably expect me around 4-5pm; Tales, 30 minutes later. I recommend you pack sleeping supplies.

Edit: Vyers, I meant the 3/5.

This means out of everyone who responded we have a consensus on the primary deciding factor for team placement, now we just have to decide how to break the ties.

@blueNINE: thanks for the vid links. I'll (finally be able to) check them out tonight.

Hi new New England!

Since Guilty Madness is only taking place on Saturday, have there yet been whisperings of post-tournament plans on Sunday? I am just wondering this because I am 4+ hours out and would like to capitalize on my time near other people that play fighting games.

Breaking News!

Due to cancellation of previously planned family holiday events, my weekend is suddenly a lot emptier than it previously was, and I am reconsidering attending Guilty Madness! I'll be talking with Mindgame tomorrow and will have the definite answer by then, so stay tuned! :roboky:

... now we just have to decide how to break the ties.

First to five in Aquapazza!

(of course not, really. Just play an extra match between the tied players - that's simple enough.)

I am free Saturday. I will not have to work even under the most odd circumstances as far as I can see. All is well in the world.

@Genstov- You now live only 3 hours from even the furthest reaches of New England. There is no place safe.

Also, I have GGXXAC on PSN.

A Sunday post-tourney gathering would be cool.

And an update - just got off the phone with Mindgame, and I'll be at his place Friday night to head out with the group Saturday morning. Will have to pass on any significant post-event activities though, since I still have some stuff that needs doing on Sunday. Though I'd be cool with hitting up a diner or something small like that at the least.

HUZZAH!

Also, Tales - Mindgame is calling you fat. Just FYI. :roboky:

Gentov wanted to discuss how to go about getting into NYC. Since I havn't been there before I ask everyone who's been to NYC before:

is there a parking garage anywhere near Next Level?

Is street parking by Next Level safe?

How late do the buses and subway and commuter rail run?

What is the safest/ most efficient/ cheapest way to get in and out of NYC?

I'm in for Friday and Saturday, too!

This tournament is going to be crazy.

From what I understand, there's no parking garage nearby

I've never had problems with the degree of safety there, and haven't heard stories about any friends having problems there either. I heard that it's a pretty safe area, in fact.

The subway runs all the time, but trains come less often as it gets later in the night. For buses...I couldn't tell ya.

By yourself, I think the safest, most efficient, and cheapest way is to take a bus, such as Megabus. If you're with a large group of people and you have someone behind the wheel who can drive in the city, then taking a car is more ideal.

Alright so between the general safety of street parking, and the parking garage address Nazgul posted, driving down shouldn't be a problem.

To the people I'm bringing to Mindgam3's place:

I'll probably pick up Katz/Katz friend around 5 or 5:30, Tales 45 minutes after that, Rainbow Mash an hour or so after Tales.

If I finish errands and homework early I'll call people.

@ Mindgam3: I can bring my monitor, PS2, and PS3, but I can't hook up my PS2 to my monitor and Sony of America hates GG, so it'll be like 2 half setups.

Blau Neun, the azure numeral that is the closest you can get to ten and still be whole, and I shall be at the Mindpalac3 around 9. I shall have a PS3 setup.
