I think this is the proper place to ask so here it goes:

I recently purchased EasyCAP and I am going to start using it to capture my Replays and then upload them to Youtube. So I was wondering what would be the best possible settings to use for it and how I should go about capturing the footage? I will explain the situation a little better.

Originally I just used a digital camera and the individual files would be 60-100 MBs AVI's (I can't remember their aspect ratio/resolution). Then I would just use Windows Movie Maker to compile 3-4 matches and make them into 1 - 320 x 240 (I think) video that would get reduced down into a 20-30 MB file. This process took maybe 15-20 minutes and the upload took probably 5-7 minutes and the quality stayed practically the same as the originals by comparison to the file sizes.

Now with EasyCAP I have the option to capture the footage directly into a program like Sony Vegas, Windows Movie Maker, or the Ulead Video Studio software that came with it. The current method I used was just Ulead into an MPEG which again turned into a 90-100+MB individual file, but at the resolution of 720 x 480. The videos themselves look to be "good" enough quality for me, but the file sizes are way too big, especially when I plan to combine matches.

I would like for Youtube to keep the output in a wide screen format and take up the whole "box" but I'm not sure what settings I should go with to be able to keep the file size small but the quality relatively the same (since it isn't that great to begin with).

I just finished rendering 4 matches (385 MB / MPEG / 720 x 480) using Sony Vegas into 1 video that was (32 MB / WMV / 320 x 240) and the quality was horrible just on my PC, so if it got uploaded to Youtube it would be much worst. And this took 22 minutes, without uploading to Youtube.

I've looked into just about everything I could online and have got mixed results. When I use the best possible settings as stated on a website and still take 4 matches into 1, it turns into a 1 hour+ rendering time. Not only that, I can't even see how big the file size is going to be prior to rendering (unless i'm missing that somewhere). So I don't want to wait 1 hour for that thing to render, only to have the file size be just as huge or even larger than the originals and then take 1 hour+ to upload to Youtube.

My original method kept the "movie making" time down and the quality relatively the same even after uploading it to Youtube. But every time i try and use some advanced compression or program like VirtualDub it makes the whole process longer without actually making the videos better.

So any help would be appreciated.

this is actually not the right place to ask, you should post in the "video recording and movie making discussion" STICKY, located slightly below this thread...

sorry, wish i could help. maybe someone else can. though tbh, i don't think you can really expect anything "good" from compressing to 320 x 240.

Sorry, thanks for clarifying.

I requested Johnny NOSTALGIA awhile back and only got a lukewarm response, would it be ok to actually get that? Also, I saw a few videos by this [lili] person and was wondering if anyone grabbed them when they came out. Here's one that I wanted

BONUS to anyone who can find out what song this is.

Ok this'll be my 3rd whack at trying the get this topic in the right forums... Hopefully I'll get what I'm looking for now...

I've been trying to find a soundboard or some sound clips of the different characters from this game... What I'm particularly hunting for is Tao's "Nya-ha, nya-ha, NYA-HA!!!" laugh after a victory... Call me a 5-year old but I think that'd make a really gnarly message tone for my phone ... Does anyone where I can download a clip or maybe find a soundboard for this?

There are several options I can think of off the top of my head:

-You can find a tao match where she uses that win pose and record it. Easiest, but you'll probably get some bg music.

-You can find a sound test in BB and record off your ps3 with a DVD recorder or something (I don't currently own BB so I'm not certain there is a sound test...GG has one though).

-You can figure out a way to rip the soundtracks right off the BB disc. Considering the discs are probably more complicated than a ps2 disc, I have no clue how you might go about doing this, but imho it may get you the best possible results.

I can tell you that this method will work, as BB definitely has a sound test section. You can find it under the Options menu.

I found the audio file in the audio gallery (well its listed as Voice Number 119) but I don't own a DVD recorder... I tried recording it with my phone near the TV but the quality is trash... Would anyone pleeeeeeeeease be willing to do this? :kitty:

Didn't think this should go in the youtube thread SO...

I was trying to upload the slash Johnny CM "Wind Way Walk Revival" and kept getting "Terms of use violation" messages from youtube. I've already uploaded countless other vids with no problem, even the #R Wind Way Walk...Anyone have any idea why I'm getting this, and from your experience, is it worth filing a complaint?

did you try uploading it with bogus info? idk how they filter uploads, but maybe you can circumvent it with fake title/author/song/whatever info. sorry if that's no help, though, can't say i've ever had that happen to me.
