I'm actually interested in trying her out myself, just to see what I can do with her. She looks like she'll be fun to play.

So I am trying to learn heart and what wondering if there is a site that lists a ton of combos for her? Looking for youtube videos is just hell for her since her name is in the title of the game.

Heart feels a bit awkward. I would not say inferior, but I don't think she is as "customizable" as the others as far as combos are concerned. I think she was meant as someone to get used to when you first play the game. I myself play Fiona, whose ass is more useful than her sword. That and almost everybody assumes she is too slow and always attempts to rush her. The only other person I have seen pick up someone in detail is my boyfriend, and he plays Saki. But I think that is because he likes her blue hair rather than how she fights.

-Just- her blue hair? :kitty:

Anyway, Heart is by no means just a character meant for starters. Sure, she is easy to pick up, but she is still a force. Infact, she happens to be pretty high in the tier-list. She has an awesome clash game, damaging combos, decent-speed, and great damage potential out of random hits.

I always felt like Heart was too awkward to be as beginner-friendly as so many people seem to think she is. Saki seems to be way easier to use, possibly the easiest in the entire game. I dunno, I'm actually finding it quite difficult to play very many characters in AH because so many of them rely on some variation of "trip > homing cancel 6 > catch > combo > ect." like Saki does. I can use Fiona, Lieselotte, and Saki, but every time I even try experimenting with most of the other characters I can't seem to stop trying to do Saki's IAD combo stuff.

Heh, yes, just her blue hair... (sneak away, not today...) I tried to pick up on Heart, but having to rely on homing cancels to keep her going didn't turn me on. I play Saki because I could chain one move into the next without the cancels, but I just started Arcana Heart not all that long ago, and I've began to notice she doesn't have the greatest mix-ups. Fiona reminds me of how May fights, and I was never to good with her, and Lieselotte -is- Eddie, so I think I'll hold off playing her. Does anyone talk about playing Kamui?

Please elaborate. I don't understand what you mean.

Why do you guys need to play more than one character? Stick with one and play different arcanas if you want variety. not being able to find 4 characters to suit your tastes in a game isn't a problem, you only need one. Certainly is pretty tough to fight Konoha with Fiona though. And Kamui tends to do what I do better. =/

I mostly play multiple characters because I have no local competition and instead have to pass the time by learning combos and stuff in training mode for as many people as I can rather than wasting my existence raping the CPU with my one character. Also in most games the character I want to play is hard to use or shitty (Dizzy, Lieselotte, Len), so I end up also playing a better/easier character (Faust, Fiona, Warachia) to make up for me sucking at fighting games. I wish Arcana Heart 2 was out, I really want to try Petra V_V

Being good at multiple characters just makes it more enjoyable, rather than the same old experience again and again. And for Heart, I meant that I have trouble keeping combos going long with her without using cancels. Using Saki, I don't have to rely on them so often.

Having multiple chars limits your ability. If you want to actually get good at the game, you'll have to pick one main and stick with them. You can NEVER be better with more than one main than you can be with just one main. I still don't quite get what you mean when you say you burn homing meter faster with Heart than with Saki. You shouldn't need to go into long IAD loops with Heart... in fact, you need only use up one homing stock per combo. The only times I ever use more than one homing stock for a combo is if I start my combo with a j.2c (in which case I'll use 2 stocks) or I'm going for the finish (in which case I'll use as many as I need to get that finish). Also, Heart's IAD combos chain longer than Saki's so if you're having trouble keeping combos going long without burning homing meter, you're not doing the right combos.

Hm, guess not... I'll try Heart out again, looks like I'm actually gonna have to put effort into her... meh. I haven't played Arcana Heart past the personal-friendly level (just with friends, just for fun) and I haven't had the game for a bit, so I've been testing multiple characters to see which ones I can play better with. Sure, you're right about if you just have one you're practicing with, you'll be good at them. But I gotta find which one I want to be with good with. On that note, I doubt I'd pick up Konoha, and I congratulate anyone who has her as your main, because she's a bitch to learn.

Posted

Yeah, my main is Saki, and I love playing her, and I've gotten her combos down. she's one of the only characters I play, with the other one being Fiona. Low tier or not, she's also one of my favorites.

Posted

... Konoha's a bitch to learn? ... wait I can't believe anyone ever said that. Konoha's a bitch to learn? I think the world is ending. I do main her, she's very super easy and that's why I don't ever practice this game ever outside of actually playing matches.

Posted

I didn't know I could make the world end... cool I just find Konoha to be very awkward, have trouble setting the opponent up with her.

Posted

I tried Konoha for fun, she's interesting to play, and pretty easy to get into, if you know how to use her.I'm gonna need to find some local competition, as the only one who plays this besides me is my bro.

you are lucky, here in my city im the only one wo plays arcana, my brther hates arcana (the loli part), actually im playing with heart and konoha, and im thinking to give a try on lilica

Posted

I feel for you bro, 'cause nobody gives it a chance. My bro plays w/ Mei Fang and Heart, and is trying to pick up liese.

Posted

its the same thing that i think, the gameplay is very good, and the arcana system is really interesting. im guessing that they do it that way because they wanted a special signature, as well that the loli is actually very popular in japan

Posted

well, i chose lilica to start cuz well... shes almost wearing pants if you added guys, id be using guys... since guys = pants AH needs more pants, kamui isnt my cup of tea lol
