Primiera Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Is there any use for or way to combo into Chie's instant kill, outside of punishing really bad DPs?
TG_Sneak Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 Shoutouts to ZomB for winning ATL Revival.. were there any vids?
ZomB Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 Thanks Sneak! No videos... but guessing by your profile you're from NC? I should be at RESE next weekend.
Primiera Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 What would you guys think about a true oki/mix-up thread that lists scenarios, options, and what-beats-what? It'd examine frame traps and pressure strings including what each character can do to mess with them, the D options she can do and whose DP or 5A will beat them after a knockdown, optimal oki and damage enders for each capitalized hit, etc.

Primiera Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 Sounds good, you should do it! Alright, I definitely will, but between Borderlands 2 and my replay of the actual Persona 4 it's gonna be some time before I get back into P4A.
DC Posted September 21, 2012 Author Posted September 21, 2012 You know what would be great? If Chie's 2b was changed to 6b, and 2b was changed to the same animation, except she doesn't take the step forward and has normal AA invincibility. Shit would be godlike. Also Chie shits on Mitsuru. This is generally accepted. Discuss.

Granted if she picks up on this and 5b fatals us we lose about half our life to the entire bar depending on screen location and whether or not we already got hurt some...but yeah

This is generally accepted. Discuss. I've noticed that, as is, 5B is already a better AA than 2B in a lot of situations, especially when stopping bad air dash attempts in. That horizontal movement, start-up, and recovery of 2B are terrible. Edited September 21, 2012 by Primiera
DC Posted September 21, 2012 Author Posted September 21, 2012 The start up is fine, it's the horizontal movement and the weird AA invulnerability it has (only while she's actually moving forward). Unfortunately she definitely needs that horizontal movement so that ground combos... work due to her lack of range. IMO having a 2b and a 6b like I said would be godlike.
ZomB Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 I called Chie vs Mitsuru dead even the other day and people laughed at me. To be fair the matchup is a lot harder for Chie online IMO. Since Mitsuru can mash BD after unsafe things and body Chie where she would normally get punishes
ZomB Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 http://www.twitch.tv/funkyp/b/332909916?t=153m38s My roommate and I playing. It's mostly vs slab, some vs aigis. Any criticism gladly taken. Some really crappy netplay earlier in the vid (2bars to someone in our state ?? it was pretty bad)
Rhiya Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 5B is definitely -much- more easily used as an anti-air than 2B. Same with 5A.
Primiera Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 Okay ... say you KNOW someone is holding up-back while you're pressuring them (within reason, they'll react to a blocked Rampage), 100%, you might as well be the one holding up-back ... what's the most damaging thing Chie can do against that? Blocked 5C > 236B into pain?
DC Posted September 24, 2012 Author Posted September 24, 2012 I want to play the pro Chie mod Amadeous on netplay! I'm ready to get bodied by someone who studies day and night and has mastered the character.

Blocked 5C > 236B into pain? Normally I just tag them with whatever -> 5c jC jbb j8d (5AB) 236B 236B 214C 236236D style combo
Kujikawa Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 I want to play the pro Chie mod Amadeous on netplay! I'm ready to get bodied by someone who studies day and night and has mastered the character. Make some Netplay Chie Only Tournament and see who comes out on top. I have barely seen any American Chies yet! =<
kirbster Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Does anyone know who the sleeveless shirt asian dude who played Chie at Summer Jam was? He was pretty good from what I remember. Also now that TTT2 is out I think my progress with Chie will slowly come to a halt ._.
ZomB Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Because none of the tourneys in the south have been streamed/recorded yet Ivysaur and I are both playing her, the last NC monthly was chie vs chie winners and grands lol
feng_zhao Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 Hey guys! I'm having a lot of trouble with executing a combo; mashing buttons > 236A > 236A > 5B > 5C > 236B > 236B > 5B > 5C >214C > 236236D I get hung up on 236B to 236B, the training dummy keeps air teching out of the Skull Cracker (the last 236B). I have a feeling that I should be delaying the B-Rampage so that B-Skull Cracker connects, but after trying for an hour I still can't get it to work. Anyone have any advice on it? Is there maybe a visual reference that you guys use?
TheSeltsamOne Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 Hey guys! I'm having a lot of trouble with executing a combo; You need to delay the 5C before the 236B a bit as well. I still only get it 50% of the time though.

Celerity Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 Chie frame data added to the wiki, enjoy. Also edited some barren move descriptions. I had some trouble understanding what they were trying to say about j.D's frame data, so feel free to correct that if necessary.
