Herbal Grey Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=TjqgJSP1Oyw#t=780s Da fuq? Did j.214c change? I don't know how to feel about this. that teleport look just about as useless as it was in extend ;/ , which is why the first time we've seen it is as a taunt. although maybe if you do 2a ]5d[ j.214c j.c it could be useful (curse)
Skye Posted December 18, 2012 Author Posted December 18, 2012 I can see it being good against AAs and zoners, but I miss the way it used to be, it made for a wicked double cross up in curse.
Herbal Grey Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 i think the biggest problem with j.214c is that as soon as the arakune does it, the animation is so obvious that everyone knows it's a teleport. and on top of that, even if they think you're just airdashing, the invincibility doesn't kick in until after they would anti-air you, so you tend to just get aa'd anyway. i would be interested if there is more invincibility on it now, but considering they didn't really buff anything, i doubt they added invincibility to it.
Skye Posted December 18, 2012 Author Posted December 18, 2012 It's not a matter of invulnerability, but the position he lands. In previous games, he would get hit since he appeared in front of the AA, now he goes a whole character space ahead of the teleport location. At least I can still bait ID with it.
Mumm-Ra Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 (edited) So this http://youtu.be/n1srEiyYHSk Pretty crappy if you ask me, I'm pretty sure there's better ways to deal damage than this, there should be a better time to use OD, and people are also hellbent on doing CD bugs all the time, forgetting there's other options. You don't need to always do CD bugs after wheel for example, just the C bug is enough to do 6Crekka afterwards, that'd be enough to add a dive in the combo. But I'm rambling, we'll see after the game's out so I can go to the lab. Edited December 21, 2012 by Mumm-Ra
Skye Posted December 21, 2012 Author Posted December 21, 2012 Who are you telling? I might import the JP copy just to dig into it early.
Mumm-Ra Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 I'm just saying that using CD bugs isn't needed, if that's what you meant. Yeah I might import it too unless the world ends tomorrow.
Skye Posted December 21, 2012 Author Posted December 21, 2012 I was agreeing with you regarding extensive research once a physical copy is available, lol.
Skye Posted December 22, 2012 Author Posted December 22, 2012 http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=IQ7nBWrs8yo#t=421s ITS BACK ITS BACK GGS WORLD ITS BACK BEST CHRISTMAS EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [COLLAPSE=]j.d trades again[/COLLAPSE]
Darret_Wallace Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 (edited) i'm sure i read that one of our teleports does a fake j6d somewhere so maybe it was that, or maybe i'm crazy and made it up. EDIT: from the OP, "j.214B has the same animation as j.D". Edited December 23, 2012 by Darret_Wallace
Skye Posted December 28, 2012 Author Posted December 28, 2012 (edited) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=geLDjeOiPq0&feature=youtu.be Fumo, as always, brings new things to the table. Pretty tight bug pressure using just a and b bugs, and a neat way to get curse after a curse combo using * > 5d > d bug 2 > 22a > 6a > 6b > cloud. I also just noticed that the A bug bounces along the ground instead of taking flight. I don't mind this. Edited December 28, 2012 by Skye
kotokot Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 a bug have really fast recovery in cp and lol unblockable recurse in corner
Mumm-Ra Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 i'm sure i read that one of our teleports does a fake j6d somewhere so maybe it was that, or maybe i'm crazy and made it up. EDIT: from the OP, "j.214B has the same animation as j.D". The animation is for Arakune, the whale bug thingy wouldn't come out. Unblockable nerfed, but at least it's still there. 5D>spider>6A>6B is great.
Skye Posted December 31, 2012 Author Posted December 31, 2012 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k1xMF4bO8pQ Combo tutorial. Includes a few interesting bits, as well as corner 100% curse combos that we all know and love from basic starters. Also some cool oki techniques and neat resets including the new unblockable reset good for both curse and post-curse.
Mumm-Ra Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 I've been wondering, since Overdrive makes it so you can use bugs even if you run out of meter, how does recurse work?
Skye Posted January 1, 2013 Author Posted January 1, 2013 It won't since curse won't end until OD ends.
Skye Posted January 3, 2013 Author Posted January 3, 2013 (edited) http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=Og8NzS46p-c#t=458s So instead of a guaranteed 50% re-curse, we have the gimmick mix up/midscreen unblockable into 80% curse, by using 2c to force a downed state, then doing 6d early. Most people will assume that it's an execution error, but Arakune recovers first and can start pressure, upon success, the next 2c will knock them into the bell bug and then the rest is self explanatory. To me it looks like a potential unblockable if the opponent barrier blocks. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=Og8NzS46p-c#t=1776s ALSO, lol something that murakumos need to be aware about when standing fullscreen like obnoxious cunts. This could be more practical than it looks. Edited January 3, 2013 by Skye
Robokune Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 (edited) I was feeling real down about cp kune until i spent the past hour out so going through this thread and all the posted videos. Maybe things aren't quite over yet. A lot of new gimmicks to forward to :3 5a > 5b > 2c just seems silly. Unfortunately NC doesn't really seem to care about the bb saga and I'm not sure if I'll be able to get my hands on it before console release. A brotha can always dream, right? Looking forward to this so much more then i imagined, keep this ball rollin homies <3 edit: i literally lol'd after seeing that Nu get triple spidered. Such silly shit. Skye Posted January 12, 2013 Author Posted January 12, 2013 http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=KXt74wgH7Tk#t=6204s Dear Lord, oh yes. Hiyoku is working well to realizing Arakune's full potential. Fast recurses, extremely good curse pressure, nice movement and use of invisibility. Good zoning, good offense, I really like what I saw here, today. Almost an hour of Arakune footage. Didn't lose until the end. So +1 morale.
