vedasisme Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 Really liked RF's matches. All of them. lol respect cancels.
AtTheGates Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 just saw the SBO gg dvd that came with arcadia magazine, and damn. no other game at tougeki has this level of play and so many sick matches imo. must see.
Climhazzardous Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Ahh it's been a week and I still didn't get mine, should get it on Monday though, really looking forward to it.
axel Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 The Shonen matches are really great, but I wonder why he screwed up on his easiest matchups against Haaken (PO) and Chonari(ZA). I hope they release the matches for the whole tournament, really wish to listen to the crowd when Zappa almost won SBO.

I hope they release the matches for the whole tournament, really wish to listen to the crowd when Zappa almost won SBO. you can hear the crowd in the background ^^ also, some big names are missing from the best bout, such as for example mike. probably lost in some boring match and they chose to take more exciting ones. offtopic: does anybody still have the full results for ggxxac? there's a maruken baiken - vs ABA match on the dvd which is insane, and i wanna know the aba's name.
axel Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 That ABA is Fumo, yours truly king of BB:CT, registered under a different nick IIRC.
AtTheGates Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 hah, thx. so fumo plays aba in gg, maybe i don't hate him after all ^^
axel Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm9428614 Satu's Johnny really makes GGXX forever interesting to watch.
Killerwatt Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm9428614 Satu's Johnny really makes GGXX forever interesting to watch. Indeed. Satou was on fire in this one. He's doing things I've never even seen BLEED do, but it frickin' works. Lots of improvised combos, unblockable setups, frame traps. And lol 5P as AA on Ky. Looking at the new things he's doing is giving me ideas; I hope he gets recorded a lot this year.
Kamui Moon Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 what issue/month of arcadia has the gg dvd with it?
bucklemyshoe Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 FEB ...but it may be uploaded to youtube soon.

To be fair, BLEED stopped playing for quite some time, so there's no surprise that other Johnny players have surpassed him. Check out the Mikado tournament every week and you're bound to see Satu in action.
Climhazzardous Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 There were also a batch of a-cho Omito vids not too far back where he was going crazy. Either way, there's a nice amount of great Johnny players playing regularly now (MK, Omito, Satou, REID is Kid? and I think I'm forgetting one more).
AtTheGates Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 ...but it may be uploaded to youtube soon. i hope not, but it can't be avoided i guess.
Nehle Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 I got the DVD today, will be seeing it on Thursday with the rest of the GG Lund guys. Here's to hoping I can see myself there Also looking forward to reseeing N-O raping Chonari i hope not, but it can't be avoided i guess. This. I hope everyone here realizes that the reason it came with a magazine and didn't include all the matches this year is because they're actually losing money on this thing. If you want to see the matches, buy the damn DVD. It's not that expensive!

Jonio, who commentates the weekly Mikado tourney, plays a very flashy style Johnny. I got the DVD today, will be seeing it on Thursday with the rest of the GG Lund guys. I bought all the previous years' Accent Core DVD, but I refuse to buy it this year since I don't want the Arcadia magazine plus the AH2 matches. If Enterbrain does release the full tournament DVD they will have my money for sure.

Maybe there is something wrong with their offer then, not with their customers? Waiting for months till DVD release, then more waiting - for weeks till DVD arrives? Or maybe (this year) it will help 'em to learn that denying the product will not earn them any money either. But whatever. I already saw matches from 2010 on a public video service. I have a bunch of previous GG SBO DVD, and I already ordered Feb. Arcadia, but this is _slow_, and they don't offer anything faster then that (although they perfectly could make a digital version and sell it). So, what's wrong with "youtube" version again?

Check out the Mikado tournament every week and you're bound to see Satu in action. BLEED stopped playing GG? That's such a shame. Especially since I've seen recent vids of him playing Litchi in Trashblue. BLEED, I am disappoint.
Nehle Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Maybe there is something wrong with their offer then, not with their customers? Waiting for months till DVD release, then more waiting - for weeks till DVD arrives? Or maybe (this year) it will help 'em to learn that denying the product will not earn them any money either. First off, it needs to be said that it is not as simple as that. The reasons for tougeki/enterbrain losing more money this year could be multiple. For one thing the arcade market is in a steady decline, making their customer base grow thinner. For another thing, it's entirely possible that the enormous recession we're in somehow made their sponsors lose interest in dropping money in their laps. However, it is a fact that they shut down Tougeki Damashii. It is also a fact that they feel they can't spend the same amount of money in production of the DVDs. But it's a very, very flawed argument stating that you think they can affordmaking a better version if they can't afford it now. It seems to me like it's more likely that, if they still lose money on it after cutting all those costs, they start to consider shutting down the whole thing. I understand that, having already payed for it, you'd want access to it as fast as possible. In that sense, a youtube version is perfectly logical. However, putting it on youtube would also make so that everyone who hasn't payed for it won't want to pay for it either since it's already freely available on youtube.
BioLogIn Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 But it's a very, very flawed argument stating that you think they can afford making a better version if they can't afford it now. It seems to me like it's more likely that, if they still lose money on it after cutting all those costs, they start to consider shutting down the whole thing. I don't think I ever suggested them investing more efforts in whole SBO-video deal. Quite contrary, what I suggest is to invest LESS efforts and make a less-demanding digital copy (pay-per-download of donation-based or whatever). This would lead to drastic reduction of production cost-and-time and, in the same time, will make it EASIER for fighters around the world to immediately buy their product. So what I say is that it is their business model that is flawed and dramatically outdated - by 5 years at least. Which is really much for a 'digital' era. Especially in times of need and recession.
Nehle Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Then we are arguing entirely different things. The reason we don't want someone to upload it to youtube is because we want to support Tougeki so they can afford to run it for another year, not because we are so terribly fond of those little plastic discs that become unusable as soon as they are scratched by an unusually pointy air molecule. I don't think anyone would complain if they made digital downloads instead of, or as an option to, DVDs. Au contraire, but this argument was, at least in my mind, "paying vs youtube" not "Business Model '95 vs Business Model 2010".
Climhazzardous Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 Jonio, who commentates the weekly Mikado tourney, plays a very flashy style Johnny. Jonio is good, but he's abit too inconsistent for me to rate him up there.
Neithan Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 Gentlemen... I don't read japanese at all. Is there someone here who have the Tougeki DVD could put the names of the players for each match and also the names of the teams ?:8/: Picked matchs : http://thomasloreille.fr/sbo/snapshot20100121185506.jpg http://thomasloreille.fr/sbo/snapshot20100121185535.jpg http://thomasloreille.fr/sbo/snapshot20100121185549.jpg http://thomasloreille.fr/sbo/snapshot20100121185612.jpg http://thomasloreille.fr/sbo/snapshot20100121185642.jpg http://thomasloreille.fr/sbo/snapshot20100121185714.jpg http://thomasloreille.fr/sbo/snapshot20100121185735.jpg http://thomasloreille.fr/sbo/snapshot20100121185752.jpg http://thomasloreille.fr/sbo/snapshot20100121185820.jpg Once I'll have the names I'll put a try in photoshop to add translated names on images (with smaller sizes) so everyone can understand who is playing against who.
