[CP] Rachel Video Thread

I'm really hyped for CP Rachel. It looks like a lot of fun to pile Lobelia's in the corner then go in for a Baden-Baden Lily Kill.

I just hate that we can't follow up with more fun afterwards.

And it does practically nothing without poles.

And I know they tried to trim the combo length in this game but come on, it's in our blood to follow up with lots of fun shit after BBL.

Also lvl3j.2c..... that was just evil what they did to it.

Thought it best to mention now. I might not update the Notable Japanese Rachel Players Ranking this Sunday like I normally do. Interview to prepare for the next day but hopefully I can get round to updating it that Monday evening (GMT+1).

Still working through the pages I couldn't check, currently going through Page 39 of the CP Video Posting Thread and I'll be sure to change the character names to the 2 letter/intials that represent them once I've caught up and then I will proceed to add them into the video threads.

Must watch set imo.

Dogura wins 6-5

Looks like Azrael is one of Rachel's toughest matchups. The projectile immunity on that "growlah" move really limits her neutral game since it enables him to stock up mini Spark Bolts. You can't even use 5b and 2b safely because those normals have projectile properties.

What are the properties of that move? Does it have frame invulnerability on startup? Is he completely invincible while projectiles (i.e. George) are hitting him during that stance? N-O seems to use delayed 6b at a distance to bait out that move and avoid using George for oki. I'm trying to wrap my head around why that's necessary.

Also, that dashing punch is like a safe Hell's Fang that enables him to very easily close the gap and prevents her from summoning or shooting arcing lobelias safely. Since Rachel was always cornered, this made it extremely difficult to get damaging corner combos and establish oki.

Growler Field [グロウラーフィールド] (214B)(Chargeable) = (　｢・ω・）｢

Azrael gives off an aura surrounding him

Phalanx Cannon [ファランクスキャノン] (After a successful 214B, 236B)

Fires forward a projectile, considerably fast.

Anti-projectile guardpoint. Has a hitbox and does damage if next to opponent. Knocks down and can be used as a reversal due to startup invul. Has repeat proration.

Phalanx can be activated when a projectile has been successfully guarded. Can store up to 3 projectiles at a time. Each hit of a multi-hit move counts as separate projectiles. Can catch Tager's Spark Bolt, but you will still get magnetized. Can absorb Platinum's bubble but you don't get any stock for Phalanx.

Phalanx seems to have a lot of priority over other projectiles and will destroy them (Tempest Dahlia included). Phalanx Cannon x3 combos and does ~2.6k, BHS ender might work and would do ~4k.

I fought a Rachel today and was trapped the corner. Using Phalanx when she fired her cannon to continue pressure canceled the projectile and hit her, allowed me to get out. Absorbing her projectiles during the round might be a good option against her corner blockstrings. I was also able to completely absorb Tempest Dhalia with Growler lol."

Casuals after 2on2. Lots of work for you there lol. Jourdal already put the important names.

Mixed feelings about Zero. He took down two gods and Fenrich quite convincingly (lol that pumpkin cross up, didn't see it coming) which is no small feat, but his performance against Kyuu's Relius at the end was lackluster to say the least, compared to Rinhime. N-O is definitely the best overall, though he wasn't the star of this upload.

Hmm... Always thought that Noel was a bad match up for Rachel. But looking at their tools, I guess Rachel wouldn't be helpless.

On the Barrel Lotus note, it's safe to assume that it alters Rachel's distance and speed when using her drive, that sounds pretty useful.
