Official GameFAQs v. Dustloop Information Thread

[Antiquarian]

Hey all, making a post to consolidate the information found in this thread for the GameFAQs v. Dustloop 12 on 12 match.

Information:

- Date: December 15, 2012

- Time: 4:30 PM EST/1:30 PM PST

Matches will be played over the PlayStation Network.

Rules:

1). Please do not skip the intro, this will contribute greatly to lag.

2). 2 out of 3 Rounds, Best of 3, 99 Seconds

3). Character is locked once chosen.

4). Pokémon style elimination. Winner side stays on, loser side picks next up.

5). Instant Kills and EX moves are allowed.

Communication:

1). Mics are not allowed during a match.

2). A PSN Chat Room will be provided, but be sure to leave when you are having your match.

Disconnection policy:

1). Due to how wonky PSN can be at times, disconnections will result in an honorary rematch.

2). Repeat offenders will forfeit their match.

Would just like to update, even though the list is "filled" if you are interested please still post! We will undoubtedly need backups, sometimes shit just happens and people can no longer make it. On top of that if we have more members interested we can pick and choose the roster we want to run with. Looking to be a great event, glad there's plenty of support from both sides!

Well I can't comment on who goes first, second, or whatever. I'm just the guy recording the information, I'm sure someone else on the team is more qualified for "team captain". :P

But what I can say is neither order nor which roster we will run have yet to be finalized. All I can say is to just keep posting if you're interested! Backups will almost certainly be needed.

Updated rules and GFAQ's roster. It seems there was an overwhelming majority for each game to be best of 3 rather then best of 1. This may make the event go long, but it should allow for higher quality games.

Yeah, I think going for a best of 3 was the correct decision. The Giant Bomb vs. GameFAQs one I organized took approximately 3-4 hours, to give a certain timeframe of the tournament's duration.

i meant it under the case that oftentimes people make accounts with the "not_xxx" xxx being their name, and that just isnt me in case anyone was wondering. i am curious who it is though...

More or less to cover all bases. These rules were created from what we use to run the P4U Ranbats, and as this is a Netplay event as well they were imported to make sure there is as little confusion as possible for what people should expect out of the event.
