_Yaya_ Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 After watching these last vids I think I see new combo potential and yes Overheat for the time being 22A may be safer than feint for the time being. Anyways this is what I'm thinking. Requires full meter: dia mode 5DD>RC>5DD>RC>5DD>236D
tuka Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dCNGf-whSmA features a lot of that wombo combo
Overheat Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 Sega Namba Avion Singles Tsukasa vs Noel Tsukasa vs Relius Relius backdashes and gets caught in 236D: (midscreen) (Dia) X > 3C > 22A > 236D > Dashing 2B > 2C > j.C > j.2C > 2DD > 214D > 22A > Dashing 6A > TK > Dashing 3C > 22A > 3C > 623C On an air opponent: (midscreen) (Dia) j.2C CH > 2DD > 4B > 2DD > 22A > 6A > 5C > 6C > 236A Tsukasa likes doing (Luna) X > 6C > 236A > Dashing 236D on air opponents. He also likes doing (Dia) X > 3C > 22A > 236D Nu vs Azrael Hazama vs Tsukasa (midscreen) (Dia) Throw > Dashing 2DD > 22A > 6A > 5C > 4B > Dashing 2DD > 623C I'm not exactly sure why he was trying to do this combo. Goro was trying to incorporate X > 4B > Dashing 2DD > 623C into some of his combo's as well. The untech time on 6A may have increased, and/or the start-up of 5C may have gotten faster. Usanagi (Jin) vs Nu Relius vs Nu - - - - - Hyougo Koube Ranbat Four (Ragna) vs Naga X > Parser Forward (cross-through) > 2B/3C is used pretty often. I wonder how well a 4B would work in that situation, or a 2B > 4B, etc. Tenkawa (Noel) vs Naga (near corner) (Dia) Throw > Dashing 2DD > 22A > 6A > 6C > 236C (he dropped the 5C follow-up) Naga was getting pressured by the Noel, so he activated Overdrive and did 632146D. Maybe if the Noel was closer, it could have been punished by using Fenrir... But since it was blocked, it was safe. Naga vs Kikuchi Megane (Carl) 2C seems to still work well in shutting down a lot of Carl's approaches.
Afro-Demon Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4BEqKsTTey0&feature=youtu.be last match. finally, I get to see some of these combos in action rather than just thinking "...huh, i wonder how that works."

Kedago (Platinum) vs Tsukasa (midscreen) (Luna) Throw > Dashing 2DD > 214D > 22A > 236D~C > 22A > (6A) - might be character-specific. 6B might work as a safer follow-up. I saw Tsukasa messing around with it before, but I wasn't sure if it worked or not. I'm hoping that there's a better follow-up to it than this, though. - - - - - a-cho I think these are casuals. Overheat Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Playland F-1 R 2 on 2 Jieru (Arakune) vs Minato Hage (Tager) vs Minato Minato got kind of impatient in the first round. Having the whole screen to run back on makes a huge difference. (corner) (Luna) Dashing 2B > 6B > 5C > 236B > 22A > 5DD > 236D > 22A > 5DD > 2DD > 6C > 236D > 236C > 6A > 623C > (3C) > 22A > 214A (corner) (Luna) 3C > 236B > 22A > 6A > 2C > TK > 3C > 22A > 6A > 6C > 236D > 236C > 6A > 623C > (3C) > 22A > 214A Yuichi (Hazama) vs Minato Gin (Bang) vs Minato (midscreen) (Luna) Dashing 2B > 2C > 5C > 236B > 22A > 5DD > (4DD > 4B > 2DD > air ender) - I think he should've done 5DD > 236236D for a guaranteed KO follow-up Minato vs Nanura (Mu) (corner) (Luna) 4B > 2DD > 214A > Dashing 6A > TK > Dashing 6A > 6C > 236D > 236C > 6A > 623C > 3C > (236D) Minato vs Akiba (Carl) Overall, I think Minato plays fairly well, but too aggressively. He likes Luna mode in neutral more than other Nu players. For the most part, his opponents are letting him getting away with his riskier playstyle.
_Yaya_ Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Minato is pretty good I like how he's not afraid to use Luna which I personally think is completely untapped atm. He uses 22A a lot which seems to throw opponents off, possibly better than tks atm (maybe). OH I agree it's killing me seeing these players not use DDs for guaranteed KOs. This is like the 4th vid I've seen where they screw that up.
Kakimori Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 That combo at 20:53 vs. Hage's Tager was hella stylish. And it doesn't even look that hard to do. I feel like with the new mode changes, we're really starting to see a difference in playstyles between top-level players. Love Minato's 22A > 214C > 22A from Luna. Really wish I knew what the intent of giving Nu 623C was. On another note, I like Jieru's Arakune for some reason, though he keeps getting blown up.
_Yaya_ Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 All of this besides the arakune part. That hoe is a scrub
HexaNoid Posted December 18, 2012 Author Posted December 18, 2012 If you want to talk about the things you see in the videos here that's fine, but can you take all the unrelated stuff elsewhere please? I feel like there's a more appropriate place to talk about Arakune than the Nu video thread.

Akihabara Leisureland Ranbat IMO, Gentarou/Purotosu/Protos was clearly the best Lambda in Extend, and it seems he's the best for Nu as well. Yeah, he won the tournament. Interestingly, he's (by far) the top ranked Nu at the moment. Inui vs PRF Army (Hakumen) (midscreen) (Luna) (j.2D > air parser > j.C > ) 4B > 2DD > CT > Dashing 3C > 22A > 6B > 214B > 5C > 6C > (236C attempted) Protos vs Koko (Azrael) Really strong screen control with Nu. Uma no Hone / Reoparudon (Valkenhayn) vs Protos This is the second top ranked Valkenhayn right now (midscreen) (Dia) 4B > 2DD > CT > Dashing 236D~C > 22A > 6B > 5C > 2C > air ender (~3500, ~16)

Kaqn (Hazama) vs S Kaqn (Hazama) vs S S did very well, especially considering the big skill difference. SpinKing (Amane) vs Sarube-J This whole video has 5 matches of them against each other. S vs Shiro Madoushi (Platinum) "Old" match, but I don't think it's been posted in this thread yet.
Kakimori Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 (edited) That air grab in the 3rd round of Protos vs. Uma no Hone was AMAZING. Would have liked to see S-Sama use Luna Mode more against Kaqn Hazama, especially considering that he rarely uses TK cancels. Edited December 22, 2012 by Kakimori
