EdWORLD Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Hi, freshmeat here. I want to get better at Guilty Gear but most local fighters where I live (Nova Scotia, Canada) are playing BB and SF. Not that I'm not a fan of BB, but I feel Guilty Gear is a much more rewarding game to master. Sadly, I can't master it because I lack compitition. I can't seem to find any decent connections to play against online, was hoping to find people closer to home through this board. After like 8 matches with the connection quality setting on, it was pretty dismal. I expected lag, but so far this is as disappointing as the two KoF online games. Are you guys getting decent matches?

TeeJay Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Good games to Surfeit. It started close after a few matches but then got lopsided after I didn't make the right adjustments. I know what mistakes I made so now I can think of ways to break those habits and conceal some things. I feel like my Robo Ky was better than a lot of recent matches. i have trouble often against Ky players. I'm glad you got to play your first Robo Ky.

The only habit I can say you should do something about is the airdashing in. Bad idea when Ky has pretty good anti airs. I would try to 2HS you but Robo Ky's airdash is so fast you would usually just whiff behind me. So I started using 6P instead (shouldve been from the start) and it was effective. I really need to work on my combos. Only thing I practice in training mode are blockstrings

I actually have to sometimes use the 6579 input. But yeah...I need to find other means to deal with the corner. I'm happy i got a started getting used to j.s counter-hit confirms and one a round off of a 5HS frc. combo. I'll be sure to adjust and try to be more consistently competitive next time. Gotta grind robo kys pressure strings again because i wasn't mixing it up enough.
