Hash Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 That would be a Cronus Cross Over Gaming Device. It's got some limitations as to which sticks it supports (as we found out with Rigel's PS3 Hitbox), but seems to work well for all the random MadCatz sticks we have lying around HQ. Wow, it costs 60 bucks? I thought it'd be like $15 or $20 at the most. This hurts me right in the frugality.

Yeah, I had preordered a PS360+ PCB for the same price, but they ran into trouble getting it in stock, so I swapped my order, and that's how I came about my Cronus. To be fair, they originally retailed for $80. (Dayum....)

Krackatoa Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Algonquin College. e206b. Student Commons, above Starbucks. 5:30pm onwards. Tonight. Fighting Games. Lots. ASUS Monitors. You all know what the hell I'm talking about.

On parts alone, dual mods are like $40. $60 for a solderless, plugin solution is pretty good. Also, this is mainly for Essay but Shopify is looking to hire like mad.
Essay Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Heh, they're the best, aren't they? I'm in there like a corsair.

Also, this is mainly for Essay but Shopify is looking to hire like mad. That Cronus is on special for $50 on their website right now apparently. Also, dumb question, but are there sticks that are made dual modded already? About Shopify, I have like 3 friends who work there, that place is sick.
Essay Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Also, dumb question, but are there sticks that are made dual modded already? Most Qanba sticks come dual-modded out of the gate and loaded with Sanwa parts. They've got some for sale at canadianjoysticks.com and focusattack.com—both sites having been great to me in the past.
LiveWireX Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 I hear CanadianJoysticks has insanely good shipping times too.
sagacious Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 So who in this city actually plays persona? Does it ever happen at algonquin? Now that classes are over I have a bit more free time, so I can make it out more often.
LiveWireX Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 I know there was way more people for the P4A tournament last month than I was expecting (even not counting MTL), so obviously some people do. I believe Krackatoa does, and I do, even though I'm technically not IN the city per-say.

Rigel Cyrosea Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 I think everyone in this thread plays Persona. But I don't know of anyone who actually practices it and considers it their main game.
Essay Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 I think everyone in this thread plays Persona. But I don't know of anyone who actually practices it and considers it their main game. This... unless you're actually out there, Persona man, in which case please come rep this awesome game more. Man, this is also the first week in forever that I'm not coming out, isn't it? Nobody better be drinking my de-alcoholised beer at HQ while I'm gone! (Actually, you totally can. HQ's gotta make 'dem sales!)
LiveWireX Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 I'd say out of the actual well played fighters these days, P4A's my main one. I mean yeah, I play BB more, but not many others do so I can't call it a main. I want to say my secondary game is AE2012, but I haven't played it in ages and have been playing TTT2 more, so I guess that'd be 2nd by default effectively making it in order: P4A>TTT2>AE2012>KOFXIII>SCV with me throwing Injustice in an interchangeable spot with TTT2 when it comes out and not counting BB.
Rigel Cyrosea Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 BB is more alive than Persona. People play it at Algonquin and HQ pretty much every week. I haven't seen Persona at either of those places for months.
LiveWireX Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 That's...oddly surprising, but since I'm like penny pinching to make sure I can afford going to UMAD, I guess not going to the Gonq meetups or HQ as often as I want to might have something to do with it. It reminds me though, BBCP needs to get here now, and we need to try and get an Injustice scene going when it's out.
Krackatoa Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 Apparently I play Melty Blood too now. Who the fuck wants to play against my F-Miyako?
Rigel Cyrosea Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 I am always down for some Melty Blood. That game is fun as hell. Kinda dumb at times, but fun.
LiveWireX Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Yeah, that'd be good to know, since I'll probably be picking up Injustice over on Merivale sometime after 5, so dunno.
Krackatoa Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Gonq is happening. Sorry for being late to post.
LiveWireX Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Just gonna say Injustice is godlike. Man, this game's gonna be good when stuff like strategies and matchup knowledge develops for it.

I have no idea how to deal with Harley as Frostie McMohawk. On the plus side, Frostie McMohawk's BnB and shenanigans are pretty easy to figure out. Also, let f.3 Meter Burn rip ASAP to deal with Wonder Woman's shit on wakeup. Killer Frost! That's her name. Geeze. Regime skin sold me on the character.
