LiveWireX Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 And since I only got in 3 matches as Harley with my friend last night, I totally have no idea how to handle Nightwing with her at all.
Rishtopher Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 When are Gonq classes over? I'm done on the 27th, I'll be free to play after that.
Krackatoa Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 I'm debating whether or not to keep it going after the 26th, which is when classes are done. I COULD do it, but I don't think there's any point. I could run another tournament in late summer, if anyone is interested.
LiveWireX Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 I know I like the idea of there being get togethers at some point at least over the summer. Especially since I'll likely have more of a means to head out to them.

I'm sad that I never actually got to come out though
Krackatoa Posted April 19, 2013 Posted April 19, 2013 Holee shit. Killer Frost reset tech is bananas? Mad corner combos?
Essay Posted April 19, 2013 Posted April 19, 2013 I've got a good feeling about today. First day in over a week I haven't woken up in incredible pain. Assuming this holds, I'm coming to HQ for Guilty Gear and Darkstalkers. Who else is going to be there?
VERBAL Posted April 19, 2013 Posted April 19, 2013 I could run another tournament in late summer, if anyone is interested. Yes please.

ImperialSport Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 (edited) Gonq meet tomorrow, 5:30pm onwards. e206b. 2nd Floor above the Starbucks. Edited April 22, 2013 by ImperialSport
DerQ Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 Hey guys, you're having capital KO and a few guys of MTL are probably gonna make it this weekend. I'd just like to know, is there an estimated time at which we can expect the event to start? Since this is roughly a 2-3 hours drive, I'd like to plan accordingly just so we don't have to arrive late or hold the start of a tourney for us. Thx and see ya this weekend.

The TO for Capital K.O. just got back from Cali. He's gonna be getting things properly organized this week. I'll ask him for a time, and let you know as soon as I can.

LiveWireX Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 Oh nice, MTL is heading out again. They're gonna be out for more blood this time, lol.
Essay Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 I'll be there tonight. Most likely Friday at HQ too. Gotta get over this GG rust.
VERBAL Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 (edited) Just to make sure, can anyone reconfirm if P4A will be a side tournament? Miles told me that BB is going to replace P4A as the main game yesterday. So if that's the case then the updated official games should look something like this right? Main games ($10 entry): Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3 (360) Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition (360) Street Fighter X Tekken 2013 (360) Injustice Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (PS3) P4A (PS3) BlazBlue Side tournaments ($5 entry): Guilty Gear: Accent Core Plus (PS3) Persona 4 Arena (PS3) maybe? I heard it's getting axed. Edited April 24, 2013 by VERBAL
LiveWireX Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 I'm not sure if P4A's getting axed entirely. I mean, I think personally it might depend on the entry numbers for Blazblue, but I could be wrong. It'd be odd for it to be totally axed though, since it had a fair number of entrants at Gamefest1. As Injustice is an NRS game and those are usually PS3, I'm not sure why it's 360, other than possibly them not knowing how many PS3 copies of it there are but yeah...I'll ask Contra and find out.
Rigel Cyrosea Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 SCHEDULE: ****** Please Arrive Before the Tournament registration cutoff time ***** 10am - 1pm Registration / Casuals 2PM BlazBlue Begins 3PM Street Fighter 4 AE Begins, Tekken Tag Tournament Begins 4PM Injustice Gods Among Us Begins, Guilty Gear Begins 5PM Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 Begins As of right now, there are no plans to run P4A. Which I agree, is strange. I think Myles (the T.O.) is concerned about available setups. If we have enough time, entrants, and available setups, I'm sure we can add P4A. We'll see what happens, I guess. Also of note, if you prefer to play on PS3 and you are able to bring PS3 consoles/copies of games, please do. We have a lot of Xbox setups already, but almost no PS3 setups.
Essay Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 As Injustice is an NRS game and those are usually PS3 By "those" you mean their only other fighting game, MK9? At this point it's hard to say if the community's going to push for one console over the other for Injustice. The TestYourMight crowd pushed for PS3 because MK9 was well-suited for PS3 pads, even despite the game having slowdown issues on the console. There's no saying which will be standard for Injustice though. But back to real men's games, haha. I just confirmed with Myles, Persona 4 Arena has lost its slot in the tournament due to perceived lack of demand. Anime games will be limited to BB as a main tournament and GG as a side tournament.
LiveWireX Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 That, kinda sucks that it's got no spot to speak of and might upset some of the MTL crowd (and me as well since I didn't go and o as much demanding since I thought the demand was there), but admittedly means I can take the practice time and entry money from it and put it towards other games.

P4A = 12 BB = 10 GG = 9 It could be because P4A was announced as one of the main games, who knows. As of right now, there are no plans to run P4A. Which I agree, is strange. If it's about lack of setups then yeah I'll bring my PS3 and monitors, 360 too if someone can bring their P4A copy for XBOX. Persona 4 Arena has lost its slot in the tournament due to perceived lack of demand. I find the bolded part pretty ambiguous. I didn't say anything until now because I thought it was a given that P4A was going to be played (I'm assuming a lot of other people thought the same thing). I don't see Marvel players hyping up the SRK board because their game is on the official tournament list Well anyways if Miles already made up his mind then it can't be helped. But I'll bring my setup just in case it gets played for whatever reason.
VERBAL Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 (edited) I wanted to show off my QUALITY Akihiko that I've been practicing (copying). Kubo and Moke are so good. If only I had listened to Scott and Dev... Oh well I guess I'll go FULL ANIME and learn GG after the tourney Edited April 24, 2013 by VERBAL
Essay Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 I find the bolded part pretty ambiguous. Yeah, it's bound to be ambiguous—I'm not in Myles' shoes—but, from the conversation I was there for, I think it's boiling down to scheduling limitations and the P4A community's visibility. Where are the P4A players at? I've been making it out quite consistently to HQ and 'Gonq, and am always open to playing P4A, but it's been rare that I've seen the opportunity, at least, that is, with people who aren't there to play GG or something else first. I figure it was looked at as a risk to run P4A when there's no guarantee that all the GG players would arrive early again and enter it to kill time.
LiveWireX Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Well, I'm a P4A player obviously as is known, but for me to drive out and back is $20 on gas, and I'm super poverty as it is and can't afford to do that every week, so I have to pick my spots of when to come out. But if setups is a problem, I'll get my PS3, cables, and copy of PS3 games packed up and bring them to help deal with the problem.
