Zazz Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 you seem to have a skewed perspective on things, blade. motives are one thing, the methods used to attain goals is another. Justice was a villain because leveling whole countries and killing millions is not a good way to get one's point across. I-no is a villain because her zeal for following That Man inflicts needless suffering on others. That Man, well he's more a gray area just because of the mystery surrounding him. The Bureau seem rather nefarious too what with their ordering the death of a child just to get to Faust for example.
Blade Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 Granted, but if that were the case, any bloodshed at all would make every character a villain, even Ky for killing gears. War is fuzzy like that.
Zazz Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 Granted, but if that were the case, any bloodshed at all would make every character a villain, even Ky for killing gears. War is fuzzy like that. Well war is fuzzy like that in-progress, however Justice STARTED the whole thing. i suggest we stop this discussion now before it ends up being to stupid philosophy argument. I know how to derail this: "Dizzy is Sin's mom. Don't try to prove me wrong because you can't. And who do you think Sin should be paired up with? " my work here is done.
Big K Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 Not really Zazz. Apperently some characters in Guilty Gear are always being antagonize. Like Justice, she killed all those humans because her design was to exterminate all humans. And maybe this might explains why the Japanesse are nearly extinct. Zato-1 was being control by power from the likes of Eddie. It seems like a pretty good Spiderman reference though. And That Man might not be all that of a villian that most GG gamers would think. Now that person who claims that Dizzy was evil was because he/she was just another fan who thinks his/her ideas are true. Seriously, KyXMillia? Not bashing on it, but too oblivious of a fanfic. Anywho, I think the characters should have more information of their backgrounds to determine if they are good or just evil.
SolRocks Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 Wow, so Blade you really think that Sol is really a villain, huh? I mean...he hunted gears, but considering him to be a villain ...I'm not so sure about that? I wonder what will Daisuke thinks when he see this post..lol And why are we talking about sin's mother being dizzy again...give it a rest man, until Daisuke tells us further info., all of us should just remain silent for bit time.
Big K Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 I hope its making a comic out of the topics we talk about. Just like what happen to Street Fighters.
Big K Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 Blade, I think Sol isn't a villain. He is just more of an anti-hero. He caused this mess, he wish he didn't work on Project Gear, and he wants to fix it. That is why he is called the Guilty Gear. He is living a life with all the problems of the world beside his shoulder.
Blade Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 Once again...I feel nobody reads my posts in earnest...I said there are no clear cut definitions and when I said if there IS a Villain it would be Sol, I was speaking linearly. In other words a lot of stuff wouldn't have happened (i.e. Crusades) if he and his science buddies didn't decide to excavate magic from the Backyard....just like if American science didn't invent the nuclear bomb. Just wrap your heads around that for a minute. I'm not trying to get into philosophical debate here but you guys are forcing the issue of who the real villain is...this game series isn't written like that, and I think Daisuke would be insulted as a writer/creator if you tried to read it like that. Big K's got the right idea, Sol's trying to fix his own mess, that's it, and that's all that it really is. @Zazz: Give it up.

I understand Sol sees himself as the villain, hence the guilt and his Anti-Hero ways. This also explains why he does the things he does. Who ever couldnt understand that...I mean really c'mon!
Blade Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 Who ever couldnt understand that...I mean really c'mon! It's not a matter of not understanding. It's a matter of coming to terms and accepting the TRUTH. Someone mentioned fans "staying with a sinking ship" a while back. I believe it's true. @Dark Dizzy+MilliaBigTime45: Do I have to get Leap to spank you two like little kids?
DonMungMung Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 Good god kids, can't we all just get along now? Who cares if people have differin' opinions, just deal with it, and don't be an asshole to others. Gotta say though, Dizzy bein' inherently evil is a pretty flawed idea; sure you'll only go as far as your genes, but nurture shapes who ya are as well. Fuck, I'm a pretty easy-goin' person, but even I'll be a crazy psycho-bitch if I was raised where Justice was my "DESTROY HUMANS" mama and Testament my "I WEAR A SKIRT, EVEN THOUGH I'M A MAN(?)" papa. On a complete side-note, I REALLY want that non-existent Guilty Gear anime to come out. Yeeep. Any day now, Ishiwatari.
Chainsaw Guitar Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 Cause he's douche ! Just stating the fact. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mPgI-7hTZkQ @Dark Dizzy+MilliaBigTime45: Do I have to get Leap to spank you two like little kids? Sorry. I'll ignore that idiot from now on. Back on topic: Who do you think is going to be Eddie's new host?. I think it would be pretty cool if Zato-1 had a long lost kid who decides to follow in his father's footsteps.
Raging Tofu Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 I thought was Sol genuinely being nice. :8/: Sol could've killed her if he really wanted to. Notice how after his battle with Justice his headband is off allowing him to fight at maximum strength which was powerful enough to kill her. After his battle with Dizzy you can see his headband still on, and he looks somewhat regretful. I think it's safe to say that being "nice" isn't on the list of things Sol likes doing. Regarding the rest, I'm going to take this chronologically. 2172 Sol's first encounter with Justice is back during the Crusades. He wasn't able to defeat her, and she spared him because she found him "interesting" (bascially, she was toying with him.) At this time, Sol did not lose or break his Limiter. (source- AC+ storyline) 2175 Sol's second encounter with Justice. At this time, Sol had the Fuuenken, which enabled him to finally weaken Justice, enough so, that Ky could seal her up. Again, he does not break/lose his Limiter. (source- GG Complete Bible, Justice's story in XX) 2180 is the last time Sol encounters Justice. Again, it takes Sol's full strength and the amplification abilities of the Fuuenken to kill her. At this point he does indeed have his Limiter off (whether it was by his own doing or if it broke off during the fight is unknown). (source- GG1) In summary, Justice has always been stronger than Sol (normally). Dizzy on the other hand, is a bit more complicated. 2181 is the first time Sol runs into Dizzy, in the normal timeline. He notices that she's a Gear right away and it's actually a small series of bouts, but with different outcomes. In the first fight, should Sol win, he spares her. ENDING 1 Dizzy: Aren't you... going to finish me off? Sol: I made a mistake. There are no Gears that want to die. Dizzy: Then... might as well be a Gear. This power to kill... Sol: Don't cry. It's annoying. Dizzy: Will we meet again? Sol: Do as you like. This is the only part where Sol might be regretful, but that can be linked to the relation between them (that both he and Dizzy are Gears, created-weapons when they desire otherwise). However, if he loses, you get the second ending... ENDING 2 Sol: (I thought she was just a wimp who wanted to die... so why... why. It seems she has the will to live. To think she had that much power, though... I tried to catch up, and I ended up like this. Not bad... not bad at all...) Note that this is the ending where he gets impaled upon crystal-spikes.(source for both- GGX+ story) Since it is a multiple-path storyline, it's unclear just which path is "true" (though I am working on cross referencing everything). Based on this, I believe it's safe to assume that Dizzy is a likely match for Sol's power and may have the potential to exceed it. For the most part, Sol does not engage in fights he can't win (his early fights with Justice being the exception). Now if you were to consider the original timeline, where Dizzy would rise to take over the war against humanity, it was still a close contest between the two. Put simply, Ky died in 2173 and passed control of the Order to Sol. Sometime after that, but before 2183, Dizzy takes control of the Gears after Justice is killed. In 2183, Sol and Dizzy meet (it is unknown if they had ever met prior to this) and duke it out, Sol going into Dragon Install and using Volcanic Viper (so we can assume he had Fuuenken in his possession at this time). The outcome of this match is also unknown, as I-no jumps back in time to the Battle of Rome (2173) to set things straight. (source- Drama CD Side Black) This still shows that the two are on the same level of power, though you could wager Dizzy as the winning force since Sol has to rely on a Jinki. (ftr, I really hate Dizzy.) "Dizzy is Sin's mom. Don't try to prove me wrong because you can't." I'm inclinded to believe you're wrong. Granted, all I have is a theory based on a hunch, but yeah, you're wrong.
MilliaBigTime45 Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 It's true but considering from official site from GGX2 japan. It said Sol defeats her and then ky entrust Dizzy in to Johny's care..or something like that. (He's the one who started it :blue: )
Shining Aquas Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 I would consider this a good summary for all the characters: Sol - I'm Running Ky - I'm Following Anji - I'm Bored Baiken - REVENGE! Axl - I'm Lost Faust - I'm Strange Zappa - I'm Stranger May - I'm Obsessive Johnny - "Hiccup" Dizzy - I'm Happy Testament - I'm Sad Bridget - I'm a Dude Jam - I'm Sexy Chipp - I'm Japanese? Potemkin - POT BUSTER! I-no - I'm Rebellious Slayer - I'm just chillin' Venom - ZATO-SAMA Millia - I'm Hunting Eddie - I'm Dead Robo-Ky - I'm Ky (???) Order Sol - I'm-OH SHIT TIME PARADOX A.B.A. - I married a Key.
Blade Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 It's true but considering from official site from GGX2 japan. It said Sol defeats her and then ky entrust Dizzy in to Johny's care..or something like that. (He's the one who started it :blue: ) Japanese Wiki is one thing, sauceplz (aka direct SOURCE) is more reliable. @Shining Aquas: I would almost agree with that except there are quite a few supporting characters you left out. :O
MilliaBigTime45 Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 so what's more reliable? so do u have any direct source?
Circuitous Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 Considering Blade only pulls info from official Guilty Gear story materials/artbooks/Dramas/etc., all of which come direct from ArcSys/Ishiwatari, I'd say that's the best direct source you're going to find anywhere.
SolRocks Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 well, considering this..I believe that Sol defeats her but spared her life.. but it's true that we don't know which two endings are considering "TRUE". But doesn't someone said that all ending occur at the same time ?
Blade Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 "Same time" is a blanket term for character's story paths taking place within the same year time frame. For those in the dark about this: Gear Project: 2014 Crusades: 2074-2175 (2074-2183? Alternate Timeline) Kliff Undersn: 2093-2180 (R.I.P.) Justice: 2073-2180 (R.I.P.) Ky: 2159-Present Date (2186 currently) Sol: 2016-Present Date (170 years as a Gear not including former human lifespan) Dizzy: 2179-Present Date GG Seikishidan Recruiting Tournament: 2180 GGX Gear Bounty Hunt: 2181 GGXX Bounty Hunt Aftermath: 2181 (one week later past GGX) GG2 Gear Disappearance Incident: 2186
Blade Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 Yes, and he found a $20 bill besides. :O ...It's a fighting game...figure how hard it is to figure out "who won" in all that jumbled plot mess...
SolRocks Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 dude, I'm serious ! this kinda' concerns with the plot line. I just wanna know what's the real ending for Sol in GGX + ..
Blade Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 There isn't a "real" ending per se. There are multiple paths just like in GGXX and GGXXAC+. If you're not happy with that go play an RPG where the story is LINEAR. We're still trying to figure out logically what happened between GGX and GGXX and how those stories connect. IF they even connect at all! Sorry if I sound mean, I'm very tired.
Zazz Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 this is probably what Daisuke meant when he said certain aspects are non-canon.
