Dizzy Kiske Posted January 15, 2009 Author Posted January 15, 2009 nah, yeah I'm civilized enough to realize it's a game. Sorry MilliaBigTime45, I don't have time to deal with your absent-mindedness you shmuck. I have more things to be concerned about (than your fugly face) . . . like my book that's going to be published in spring.
Zeromegaman Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 Gear limiters? I can see Sin using one but its never been stated if his eyepatch is a limiter or not. Solaria DID in fact recieve one from Sol, and as for Sol not being able to create one again, that could be a passage of time, maybe the "ingredients" he needs to make one dont exist anymore.

RockYou424 Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Come on guys, how about we just all get along now. This is a place for discussion, not for insulting.. Talking about Gear Limiters, I'm just going to assume that Sin's eyepatch is a limiter and he's gear mark is some where under the eyepatch, lol.

Comparing to other stories that I read..YOU DON'T EVEN STAND A CHANCE. Why do I have a feeling that you're both 'bout the same age? I don't like treatin' people like kids, but you two are just TOO PRECIOUS <3 Seriously though, let's look beyond what character we like, and talk 'bout other things, ok? I mean, cripes, at least the fans that are like "KY IS TOTALLY A FAG AND HERE'S WHY" aren't as...snippy with each other. Movin' away (far, far away) from that, I thought Sin's eyepatch was just a 'cool and fashionable accessory' he wore? Though after I saw that picture of him as a kid, maybe it hides his Gear mark? Never thought of it as a limiter, since his Mum doesn't need one, and him being a quarter (?) Gear and all. Although now I'm curious to see if he has a Gear form like Sol!
Sunnyday Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 I thought Sin's eyepatch was just a 'cool and fashionable accessory' he wore? Though after I saw that picture of him as a kid, maybe it hides his Gear mark? Never thought of it as a limiter, since his Mum doesn't need one, and him being a quarter (?) Gear and all. Although now I'm curious to see if he has a Gear form like Sol! About sin's mom. if she is dizzy ( most likely it is ). than i think i know why. Dizzy never likes to fight, and if she does fight she mostly fight out of self defense. I also think that Dizzy doesn't know about Sol wearing a limiter, and even when she does know i don't think it really matters because Dizzy is going with Ky in her quest to control her powers. Also. Sol isn't going give anyone a limiter, i mean his limiter is also his last , or so i heard.. About sin's gear form. i'm curious as well. BTW.. Now that i think about it. Testament doesn't have a limiter as well. but i think he doesn't give a care about it.
Lou_Cypher Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Well, Justice, Dizzy, Testament, Solaria, and Sin are humanoid Gears right? I don't think they need the limiters that badly. Sol's humanoid, but look at his Gear form...that's why he needs it? Meh.
DonMungMung Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Kinda a long shot, but could it be because those Gears were made a lot after the initial Gears? A lot of earlier Gears created were very crude with a lot of raw power (Sol's true(?) form, Justice, Gears in anime teaser, thing-that-gnashes-teeth-in-Nirvana-stage, etc.). Eventually, I imagine that, with a lot of research 'n development, more time was used to focus the magical energies of Gears, and make them look prettier. Or, at least have them more humanlike/less affected by the Gear conversion (...maybe a comment 'bout how humans are the perfect creatures or somethin' I dunno) As for Sol's rather rockin' headband (haha), beats me. .....:0! WARNING, CRACK THEORY: The materials that make Sol's Limiter so effective is because it's ACTUALLY PART OF THE OUTRAGE The Outrage were made by Freddie, as a kinda of anti-Gear mechanism, right? So, while certain components seal elements a Gear can use (sure as Sol 'n Ky's weapons), the rest limits others aspects, such as cancelin' (or "sealing"?) out what makes a Gear, a Gear. It's been proven that Sol's ridiculously power. Stupidly so, even. So what exactly is that Limiter made out of that can keep that power in check? ....Haha, wow, we really need a speculation thread. (Although I guess this thread is now kinda a "POST YOUR IDEAS HERE" thing now)
Sunnyday Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Well, Justice, Dizzy, Testament, Solaria, and Sin are humanoid Gears right? I don't think they need the limiters that badly. Sol's humanoid, but look at his Gear form...that's why he needs it? Meh. But than again.. Solaria needed a limiter. And Sol gave her one... Dizzy has some control over her powers but not that much. especially when villains like I-NO like to push her to the edge of her own control. I think justice's amour suit kinda acts as a limiter in some way ( i might be wrong ) Testament is fully in control of his powers no need for a limiter Sin is also in control of his powers. (maybe because he is a half gear allows him to better control his powers) But i do think you might be right about Sol.
Neuro Chaos Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Justice doesn't have/need a limiter because she is supposed to have too much power at her disposal and she won't suddenly be like "willikers, I better stop using Gamma Ray before people get angry <:3c" Testament is some kind of half-baked post-op gear so the chances of him having enough power to warrant (lol) being limited are slim. Sol has a limiter most likely because as the prototype and as arguably a good dude he didn't want a lot of bad news in case things went horribly wrong.
Neuro Chaos Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Sol Badguy waited. The lights above him blinked and sparked out of the air. There were gears in the base. He didn't see them, but had expected them now for years. His warnings to Ky Kiske were not listenend to and now it was too late. Far too late for now, anyway. Sol was a Holy Order marine for fourteen years. When he was young he watched the crusades and he said to dad "I want to be in the churches daddy." Dad said "No! You will BE KILL BY GEARS" There was a time when he believed him. Then as he got oldered he stopped. But now in the church base of the Holy Orders he knew there were gears. "This is Ky" the radio crackered. "You must fight the gears!" So Sol gotted his zippo sword and blew up the wall. "HE GOING TO KILL US" said the gears "I will shoot at him" said the Justice and she fired the gamma ray. Sol gunflamed at her and tried to blew her up. But then the ceiling fell and they were trapped and not able to kill. "No! I must kill the gears" he shouted The radio said "No, Sol. You are the gears" And then Sol was a prototype.
Blade Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 ......I'm not sure about how to comment from these posts but...please people, try to keep your fanfics out of the story thread...stick to hyperlinks to other sites that have them. Also...PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE OH GOD PLEASE USE PROPER GRAMMAR. Unless you're trying to imitate a southern dialect (which I sincerely doubt), please just READ WHAT YOU POST slowly before posting it.
DonMungMung Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Pretty sure I detected traces 'o sarcasm in the previous posts, Blade. ...or was it satire? Justice doesn't have/need a limiter because she is supposed to have too much power at her disposal and she won't suddenly be like "willikers, I better stop using Gamma Ray before people get angry <:3c" I need to quote that in my (non)existent sig. Can I quote that? I need to quote that.

Sunnyday Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Pretty sure I detected traces 'o sarcasm in the previous posts, Blade. ...or was it satire? But but.... Not everyone can detect sarcasm or satire on tha internetz like you do.. want the buy: sarcasm/satire scanner for my safari browser Anyway. WARNING: OTHER CRACK THEORY INCOMING I got a theory about how Axl Low can became Raven. And why That man told Axl "it is your own fault " I think that the only way for Axl to become Raven is that Axl Low later in the guilty gear time frame will be driven into despair and tries a radical and completely dangerous solution to finally gets himself back to Megumi. And once he try it out, Axl gets serious hurt because something blew up into his face and ends up with a spike in his head But for some reason he isn't dead and manages to travel trough time freely. but for some reason he never talks about Megumi again , maybe because the spike in his head make him forget all about her. Man, if it is true. than Axl Low is having a serious problem, on one hand if he never gets driven into despair, he will never come back towards Megumi and will keep walking in circles so to speak. but if he does get driven in despair and tries something out to get himself towards Megumi once and for all. He might end up becoming Raven. My guess is, that the only Thing that Axl Low can do, is just to let Megumi go and accept his fate. But man that is gonna be a tough one what do you guys think?

It's my greatest superpower and my greatest weakness at the same time. WARNING: OTHER CRACK THEORY INCOMING Oh here we go again... I got a theory about how Axl Low can became Raven. Things to think about: 1. Axl has met himself before and had little problems. (Figure that one out! O.o) 2. Axl has managed to control his time jumps 'just a little' on the request of Slayer. While it isn't an absolute thing, it seems to affect his emotions and current events he has experienced... 3. In AC+ he "almost made it" to Megumi but got warped away. I'm not sure if this involves his sense of responsibility ala "The Chrono Trigger Stipulation", or it might have something to do with his relationship with Sol. 4. He apparently is aware of Sol's Childhood and/or past and may know more than perhaps Paradigm or Izuna about the history between Frederick, That Man, and possibly Aria. More things to think about: 1. Raven's back story says he as existed as far back as the Dark Ages "OUR time", which seems to suggest he is of Norse Descent as he mentions fighting a war as a mercenary during that time. 2. Raven recalls with destinct clarity the moment at which he died 'the first time' as he reached what he calls a 'white space'. And then he woke up and realized his fatal wound was healing, stating something along the lines of 'Valhalla would not accept him'.
Alien55234 Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Hey Blade, I see you still need some victory quotes for Guilty Gear: Advanced Edition. I have: Sol/Dizzy, Potemkin/Dizzy, Baiken/Dizzy, Anji/Dizzy, Testament/Dizzy, Johnny/Dizzy, May/Dizzy, Chipp/Dizzy, Venom/Dizzy, Potemkin/Faust and Testament/Venom. All in .txt Interested?
Suzaku Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 The Raven = Axl plot threads seem like they may be irrelevant, since when Ishiwatari was asked about it, he didn't recall there being any connection (though, he didn't come out and deny it either, so you never know). Raven's backstory doesn't really mesh with Axl's. They even have different birthdays and blood types. I'm not sure exactly how Raven's backstory goes, not being able to really read the short story, but I know he calls Heaven "Valhalla", and according to what I've scrounged up on some Japanese sites, he was a mercenary sent to the front lines of a battle in medieval Germany. I'm not sure if that means he was a pagan during the middle ages, if he was an immortal Norseman who ended up in Germany, or what. Of course, it's interesting to note that ravens were often used to symbolize Odin, who was missing his right eye, due to the two ravens Huginn and Muginn (Thought and Memory) who kept him informed of all the details of the world. Raven, of course, has a white light glowing from where his right eye should be... Of course, I don't know that Ishiwatari puts that much thought into his characters.

This gives me lots to think about. hmm, i think i can add this in my fanfic in some way... just have to think of a good plot 10 chapters already on mac pages, just have to sooth out the layout

DonMungMung Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 I am pretty awesome at detecting sarcasm And once he try it out, Axl gets serious hurt because something blew up into his face and ends up with a spike in his head But for some reason he isn't dead and manages to travel trough time freely. Whoa, I just got a wicked cool image of that happening. (DAMNIT ISHIWATARI, HAVE ANIME CUTSCENES IN THE NEXT GUILTY GEAR!) So if Raven's Overture backstory is legit (ie: Ishiwatari isn't gonna change it drastically or Raven isn't insane or forgetful), then when does Axl come in? I wonder if Axl saves him, and somehow gives some of his "I can run through time!" powers to Raven? But then how can Raven travel through time voluntarily? Is it because he's with That Man? (who's arguably a very mysterious fellow with mysterious characteristics) Or did he have some sort of ability before he became "Raven?" Ugh, it's all very confusing
Blade Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 Not to say this is canonical info or anything...but when I-no encounters Raymond in GGJ, he states that she had her time-travelling ability at a very young age....thought that part was kinda neat to point out.
