(XBL) P4A Online Ranbat Reboot Season 1, Week 1: The Power of the DP

P4A Online Warriors Unite...or some sh*t like that.

I, Clinton Bowman, would like to introduce you all to the Persona 4 Arena Online Ranbat Reboot!

You may be asking yourself: "What the heck is this?" It's simple! This Ranking Battle (the term of which ranbat originates,) is a way to keep competitive outside of the tournament scene, while interacting with different kinds of people!

These ranking battles will occur weekly! But there will be a slight difference as to how this one is run.

The ranbat season ends once someone amasses 50 POINTS. Once that occurs, the top 4 scoring players will meet in a Single Elimination, 3/5 Tournament to determine the overall champion of the season. Be on your A-game, because the season can end either very quickly, or take quite some time.

THE BASICS:

Date: 4/18/2013 (Thursday)

Time: 9:00 PM EST

Sign-Up: Challonge (register here)

Stream: Radio Under The Influence Television

Player limit: None.

Format: Double Elimination, 2/3 Rounds. Grand Finals will be 3/5 rounds

Character lock: Winner's character is locked, Loser can switch in between rounds

Distribution of Points:

1st = 15

2nd = 8

3rd = 4

4th = 2

Participation = 1

e.g: 1st place gets 16 points (15 for winning & 1 for participation,) and so on and so forth.

Who can enter: Anyone...with a caveat (Yes...it is region based. If you are in the Eastern United States (basically wherever the NBA Eastern Conference teams are hosted, so sorry New Orleans,) you'll be fine. West Coast players, if you wish yo enter, please message me FIRST. We can then do a test to see if you can maintain a 2 bar connection.)

FAQs

• What if I cannot participate at a particular ranbat?
  It's no big deal. We all have lives that we must live, it is the essence of human existence. Register at your leisure.
  
  
  
• How often is the Ranbat Reboot going to take place?
  Weekly, on Thursday Nights.
  
  
  
• When do weekly registrations close?
  Thursday Night at 8pm EST.
  
  
  
• Will there be a way for us to communicate during the ranbat?
  Absolutely! Here's the instructions!
  
  1: Go to http://mibbit.com/
  2: Scroll to the bottom. Click the yellow button marked "Still interested? Chat now"
  3: Connect should be to "Mibbit [webirc]" (It is the default option.)
  4: Nick should be your DUSTLOOP ACCOUNT NAME (just so everyone knows who you are.)
  5: Channel = #RUIDLRanbatReboot
  
  Please note, everyone should be in the room by 8:45pm EST, so things can move smoothly.
  
  
  
• Is there ANYTHING else that I should know?
  Yes there is, and these are some of the most important things about this ranbat.
  
  1) WILLFUL disconnects will incur a one (1) match penalty. If it happens a second time, that player forfeits the match.
  2) Off-Stream Matches must be reported as soon as they are finished.
  3) Most importantly: Try to enjoy yourselves! This is designed to be competitive, but fun can be experienced through competition!

I dropped it by 10 points. I figure that if there was a solid goal in place, there would be a possibility that people would wish to end it as quickly as possible, so the competition would be extremely fierce.

idk i'm in midwest and i get 3bars to most everyone on east, and worst i generally get with anyone (for example, spring raid, kurumster) is 2bar and kanji gets literally zero favors from delay so i'm good rite? ;;

I think you should leave challonge open for sign up until at least like 8:30. No real need to rush it, not like it takes long to click on a button and randomize the brackets. A lot of people might not have read about the challonge link being good to go yet. But hey, you're the main man running it so your call.
