Why don't you play BB then if it has everything you want, instead of wanting to like a game that (presumably) has nothing you enjoy?

.. how do you even know about Xrd's story mode and content? Did i miss something?

But I do.

Xrd has the chance to revive a series that I like, which is why I care so much. I got some of my friends and cousins into Guilty Gear because of Xrd hype, but because I looked too much into it, I found disappointment.

Flashy supers?  I don't see how BB's supers are flashier than Xrd's at all.  I haven't seen any game with flashier supers than Xrd's TBH.

Blazblue's supers usually are longer, flashier and have more impact than Xrd's. Xrd supers are just so quick and underwhelming. For a "next-gen" game they could have done a lot better. Also astrals are more over the top and entertaining than instant kills (most of the time)

Literally the only thing BB's supers have over GG's is the excessive background effects, and even that is now balanced out by GG's cinematics. Both games have short utility supers as well as long combo finishers, so there's absolutely no way to compare them objectively. The same goes for the IKs/AHs, though it should be mentioned that GG doesn't have any Arakune/Carl-tier snorefests that had to be given a brand-new animation.

Do you like I-No's supers?

Ultimate fortismo (name is too fucking long, think I misspelled it) has always looked like that. The second one, they could have fixed the beam part after to give it more explosion feel by I like the first part

What's wrong with Xrd's Overdrives? Personally as a GGX player, I find it cool and awesome! Like chipp's 10K fists to double shoryou, Sol's dual megaton punch (Tyrant Rave Beta in DI form), Ramlethal's Gamma Ray Burst, or Faust's anal probe treatment (I've seen all facial expressions and I like it :)).

1. ASW is doing the localization themselves. [insert unenthusiastic screams here]

Translation: We're giving it to the same chucklebutts who screwed up the Extend and Chronophantasma localizations.

Good thing Guilty doesn't have a large part of the community who buys the game for the story like BB does.

I'm getting fed up with Arc giving the translation to a second rate company like Strangely Compelling when they could just have their western publisher do it far better (Aksys).

I notice as I watch a lot of USFIV footage to counterbalance my GGXrd footage that there are a lot more trades in the former. Moves don't trade nearly as much in GG as SFIV. USFIV has a 'priority' system to moves like GG, right? Is it then because of the 'higher/lower body invincibility' a lot of the arksys games do or does Street Fighter have that to?

I notice mostly during the 'killcam' (lack of a better word, sorry) shots when one player defeats another in Xrd. Most of the time one move flat out beats another. While in SFIV some of the metagame almost revolved around trades (like how a dude like Ryu could get hit out of his shoryu but still juggle the opponent into Metsu in Vanilla and all sorts of Sagat bullshittery).

Not trying to bash SFIV, I just, I dunno. Got curious.

There isn't that much crazyness to it.    In SF4, hitboxes nearly overlap with hurtboxes.  For both characters, a move that reaches out far also has a hurtbox that reaches out far, there is comparatively little room where the active hitbox extended beyond the active hurtbox.  If the two moves both have a majority of their forwards hitbox covered with hurtboxes, it is quite likely both hurtboxes will overlap while the hitboxes overlap, and bam a counter!

In close, the extremely horrible offense of SF4 encourages multiple frame traps before a throw is landed.  Because you can option select REALLY late or super early, the offensive players has to guess where you will throw break.  If the defender chooses early, his low tech option select may meet the opponents frame trap intended for a late option select break!

Finally for anti air, at least with DP's the grounded player for the most part gets to choose if it trades or not.  If he does the dp at the right time, the invul will blow through the move and beat it clean.  But if he WANTS to trade, he can do the dp early, trade with the move, recover and do whatever his followup is.

In GG:

Hitboxes extend WELL beyond hurtboxes so these types of trades are less likely.  Almost any time there was a clash in GG there would have been a trade in SF4.

In close, throws are 1f which discourages trame traps on close defense as you could just throw instead.

Anti airs as mentioned are covered with tons of invul.

Interesting, that eliminates one of my biggest question on whether Troy Baker and Liam O'Brien are reprising as Sol and Ky. Though I still intend to ask them whether they'll have a special limited release version with artbooks and such.

how does that eliminate your question? aksys said "we don't know, asw is doing it".

Exactly. Whats the point of asking Aksys if they don't know.

Maybe, I could rent this, before buying should I decide to get a PS4. I haven't been interested in Guilty Gear for about 10 years, but the genre itself was very on the decline with me back then. I've missed that attention span I've use to have that influenced me to go to tournaments at the time. I attempted to reverse the short term interest from the Accent Core version a few years after, but nothing happened. I always considered the series a potential replacement for being a hybrid to Marvel and Dalkstalkers games with it's share of own methods. I have noticed that preferred characters A.B.A, Testament, and Baiken weren't on here, but I was always a random select type anyway, so no problem. I hope also get into Blazblue, but I will wait for this first.

You'd be surprised about that middle line

Guilty gear has a compelling yet absolutely confusing story with many orphans. Makes for a very interesting one with very interesting characters

Yes, others may find it confusing since Guilty Gear have probably more than two main arcs. From what I know so far, there were two: Gear Project arc (Sol, Sin and Ky) and Guild Assassin's arc (Slayer, Millia, Zato, and Venom).

The story regarding the Gear Project, the aftermath of the Crusades, and more recently the Backyard, was always the main one; the assassins' story is just the biggest subplot.

Even at that with the big two storylines, you still the time travel nonesense (axl and i-no) fausts journey, and then the rest of everybody else once they get put in. Matter of fact, it is quite the coincidence that the gg cast met eat other in XX(or more so cuz of i-no shenanigans
