If i were to judge from that screenshot provided on the website, Sol has a new IK? It looks like Napalm Death but he's standing instead.

It's not he punched Ky in that pic, and judging by the second preview which is probably the intro to his IK, it's clearly not Napalm Death, unless they changed the entirety of the lameness that was his old IK.

EDIT:

has anyone noticed they've been slowly adjusting the HUD of the game like character portraits and the writing style of the word "BURST".

Hard rock soundtrack paired with outrageous anime character designs is sort of the point of Guilty Gear as a series.

Heck, no. GG chars are far from looking like animu (minus, let's say, Bridget). Most of them seem to be more inspired on illustrations from rock and metal albums. Heck, I see Sol, Zato or even Testy and first thing that comes to my mind is stuff like the strange chars from Iron Maiden's albums. And I'm happy for that, by the way. I want to play with guys that seem to come out of a CD cover :v:

Actually, I would say Guilty is pretty Anime. It's just simply that the designs have more influence from older Anime, as within, the 90s and early new millenium, in contrast with BBs more recent style. Sol would not be out of place in a seinen series from that period as a cocky, "badass" protagonist, and neither would Johnny. Justice looks sort of like an Eva (the small spike on it's lower body might actually be a reference to Evangelion's use of sexual symbolism, although I have really little idea as to what it symbolises if anything :v: ).

Nope, not at all.

Heck, Axl is based entirely on Axl Rose and that's a really obvious shit. IIRC also some stages had really strong metal references, just see Zato's stage from Guilty Gear 1, which is a total tribute to a metal cover (forgot which one, though).

A lot of people I know loved Guilty Gear because of its more appealing occidental music reference looks. I even recall people saying that Chipp Zanuff, char and partially design wise, resembles Sid Vicious.

Yes, it has some animU on it, but considering the rest of the occidental references, they're a minority.

Now see Bedman. lol design, but people are already saying his name may be a reference to Bedemon. Now that we know more of his background (nightmares and shit), this reference makes A LOT more sense.

Back to some relevant stuff, I hope that the screenshot shows an improved Napalm Death or even cooler All Guns Blazing. And Ky should totally either get back Zwei Voltage or combine it with Rising Force (First using ZV and finishing off with RF)

Oh? IKs are being implemented soon? Sweet. I look forward to Slayer, Sol and Millia's the most now. As someone already pointed out, the visual overhaul that Xrd is getting allows ASW to go really cinematic and creative with them. Heck we already have that with the close-ups for the Overdrives and victory poses so IKs getting this sort of treatment sounds like an awesome idea to me.

I forget which mech Justice is actually based on, but it's not from Eva. Her crotch spike reminds me more of the ZoE suit Jehuty to be honest. Anyway, there is a definite Eva reference in that the Slash costumes are all Eva colors: P for Unit 0 old paint, K for Unit 0 new paint, S for Unit 1, H for unit 2.

So, really hoping I-No's IK looks spectacular with stage fireworks and blown out speakers. If there's one time I'd be willing to put up with her feedback noise, it would be during her IK. Also can't wait to see Millia's and Axl's in glorious 3D, since I always liked how theirs looked, Axl especially. I'm also hoping Eddie gets something new since the dude fights with ****ing drills and circular saws (and cow skulls), making his IK seem really tame by comparison. My undying love if they give Faust his EX IK.

IIRC, Justice is based on Tekkaman Blade. Even has one of its attacks.

I wonder how the camera will handle with IK's. I assume it'll be like Dusts where nothing happens if it's blocked, but when it hits it instantly goes to the full animation.

unless it's cinematic like gold OSol's...then I can dig it :P

Hrmmmmm, I wonder why they'd incorporate the new themes/voices/IK's in a simple location test? Seems kind of strange in my opinion. I mean, that's not exactly the type of stuff you'd really need tested for player feedback.

Still cool, but just... I dunno, kinda random.

Probably just added them to the game with this build so it's more of a bonus while testing bedman and zato

Initially, i thought Zato is in the loketest to test how the arcade cabs can stand up to his gameplay style. Whether he would hang or BSOD the cabs like Faust did at the previous test? The IKs would also serve a similar purpose. At least that's how i see it from a developer's POV.

The new themes and voices are bonuses for the players, the game would eventually need to have them in.

Probably because they finished recording the voices and implemented them in a recent test build. There hasn't been any mention of the new music being implemented, however. And they'd probably want to implement audio for Bedman along with his debut, anyway.

Fair enough, those are all legitimate responses I never really considered. Thanks dudes.

edit- Just checked out the new, slightly altered HUD. I liked it before but it's awesome they changed my only real (and very small) gripe with the design, which were the character portraits didn't stick out enough. Now they're bold and beautiful. Which is nice.
