So anybody who has never played the game before until this demo wanna describe the visuals and feel in more than one word?

A little advice for those who want to experiment with RCs and overdrives: Trial 44 has unlimited bursts, it's as close to the training mode as you can get.

Will they handle the digital version of Xrd for PS4 the same version they did CP? If you buy it on the first few days, you get the Elphelt DLC free? I want to get the US version as retail and don't really need the Japanese retail version as well.

Almost?

Well I don't have an Arcade cab in my house to do lag tests and see if there was 1 frame lag or something like that.

But it feels the same unlike +R on the ps3.

I guess all we need now is to find out how the netcode and cross-play work.

I can only take that as good news!

Now here's hoping the PS3 version is identical except in resolution... and I guess an extra few seconds in loading never killed anyone.

How much cheaper are the digital versions? Also is there any English in the JP XRD or ASW usual?

So, I've heard a few people recently make the "I'm not too hyped for Xrd, it looks slow compared to +R" complaint.

So now that a lot of you have the demo, what is y'alls thoughts on it? Is it indeed slower? If so by how much? Is it the same but the time freezes on the YRCs and RCs create a sensation that it's slower? Or is it pretty much the same when it is running at 60 FPS in front of your face?

I felt at home right from when i first moved the character. Just tell them they wont notice any difference at all.

The time freezing thing seems like a bad idea. What do you think demo owners?

Yeah, didn't the developers say the time freeze is supposed to help beginners get a better grasp of the situation and follow-up combos better hence the time freeze?

personally I don't think this was ever that big an issue that it needed time freeze.

But I never played the game so maybe it actually feels fun.

It feels a little slower but it's not a deal breaker. I think it's due to slightly longer hitstop. Time freeze is something you have to get used to but it I think it is ok. It certainly allows for more interesting combos.

It's been a while since I played AC, so I can't really judge the difference in the gameplay flow between that and Xrd. However, I can easily tell when the flow feels slow or unnatural, especially after playing loads and loads of different games. And Xrd is right there in the sweet spot where it takes no time for me at all to get used to it: you just put your hands on the stick and go to town right away. And that, I believe, is more important than whether or not it's as close to AC as possible.

The visuals are effective.  They aren't amazing on their own and it doesn't seem like anything the PS3 couldn't handle outside of resolution.  The fact that the characters are models instead of sprites never really becomes apparent in gameplay outside of dust jumps and super cinematics.

As far as feel?  I've only put a small amount of time into previous GG titles but it feels more like those than it does any other fighter I guess.  I'm stuck using pad until next week so special inputs all feel kind of wonky though.

How about PS3? I suppose it only run on 30FPS?

It has been said multiple times that the only difference between PS3 and PS4 is the resolution (720p and 1080p, respectively). The people who played the PS3 version at TGS noticed no other differences.

Well, I'm sorry for the dumb question. Extremely late on the uptake I suppose. Thanks for the answer btw, glad to know that that's the only difference
