Overture you could listen to Japanese audio and read english subs. GG won't abandon its glorious Nipponjin roots.

 

Also the animation for Split Ciel is so badass and anime as fuck, when Ky's outfit blows back with the wind and dust kicks up behind him.

Alright alright, lets save the voice acting discussion for the proper thread.

 

I finally grabbed the demo yesterday and the first thing that I really noticed is that my resolution is totally off and I feel that I get meter ridiculously easily. Other than that, same impression from when I tried it at AX, easy to transition into. Ky feels like vanilla Ky again. Looking forward to figuring out some fun usage of YRC and his new Stun Edge amplifier thingy.

The pre AC/ACR one, 236HS, it only changed in AC so that he could use the same button for aerial CSE, which was a new input for him as of slash I believe. I never played slash. But now that he's reverted back to his #R inputs, he no longer has an extra version of SE and nor does he have aerial CSE, just ground CSE. But he also got the amazing Split Ciel which is the new 236D input, it really stream lines his combos off 6hs and allows for even wicked mind games when used in block strings.

 

I simply love this new move which easily places grinders right in front of Ky, to make use of them. ^_^

Yeah I got it. Plus R was my first serious GG so I didnt know the inputs from previous games.

Would someone be able to tell me what Ky says for his magical chant during his IK, and what his arcade victory quote is against Sol?

^ this game is well known for having a strong okizeme on most, if not all, characters in the roster. Ky's pressure is real solid(although kinda boring to watch) and it opens up other options for him. I am sure a ky main can explain it better.

Is Kys oki considered strong?

Ky isn't really centered around oki like say, Millia who has a weaker neutral game than Ky, he relies on your hitting buttons. He's a very honest character, so you need to outplay your opponent in every respect. It's how he's built to play, I honestly love it and I have a preference of that playstyle personally. So I don't find it boring, but I could see how some would find, an air dashing running street fighter character with a sword, unamusing to watch.

 

He does have very good corner lockdown due to his long reaching normals, that you really have to know what you're doing to get out of the corner with a good Ky player. Due to his "rainbow of sadness" according to eh-sama. Rainbow of Sadness is the arc around that is basically going as far as his f.s and that sort of range eclipses Ky, and approaching recklessly him from anywhere within that range will get you blown up.

 

What's with all these Ky questions lately, no one even plays this character.

This could be the second best version of Ky after Slash.

 

He is good and definitely 5/5 against Sol.

I honestly don't doubt that.

 

KOH, how do you feel about each character is like compared to their other iterations. From your experience, if you can that is. I honestly love what they did with Ky, and wish his ACR iteration got some of the tools he has in Xrd.

I feel like everyone is better because of the time slow and YRC on whiff.

 

because i started playing other characters beside Sol in AC.

i would say that i am not comfortable when playing Potemkin and Slayer in Xrd. they lost more than what they gained.

 

I have no clue about I-No, Venom and Millia at all.

Did Aksys say how much Xrd/PS3 would cost digitally? Seeing as my 60gb broke i went a got a 250gb so dont have to go physical only

Not really, but since I see a trend lately on Aksys titles released the 1st week digitally, they end up having it a bit discounted from its regular price for a limited time, most likely, one week only (with and without PS+ discouts), though its price is $50 retail (SE), but since BB:CP was about $40 with PS+ discout, hopefully they do it for Xrd, but who knows, we'll see if they'll do that once its out.
