Tiamat Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 Hey Tiamat do you mind uploading the Zappa videos that xenophobian posted in the "Video Posting Thread?" I can't watch them for some reason. Also is anybody going to the FRX tourney in Atlanta? Ah alright I'll check them out. I actually tried to put up the 3 on 3 with zappa raping everyone but it said it was a duplicate video. Even though I couldn't find it... Edit: I uploaded them. They should be up soon.
Zoogstin Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 thanks the a bunch man, but the I-no vs. Zappa video hasn't uploaded itself yet. How long does the process take?
Tiamat Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 Yeah it's taking forever for some reason. It normally wouldn't take so long so I dunno what's up. In all honesty you aren't missing much by not seeing it though cause zappa gets owned pretty hard sadly. It's up now. For some reason it took several hours while the Sol match only took a few minutes. Who knows.
Zoogstin Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 okay thanks. Now if only I could view that 3on3 match.
Tiamat Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 I tried to upload it and it wouldn't let me for some stupid reason. I'll try again since I feel like it.
Jet Set Dizzy Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 Im uploading the 3 on 3 now. http://www.youtube.com/user/dizzynecro
Tiamat Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 oops i just uploaded it again too lol oh well I'll see if it gets rejected again
Jet Set Dizzy Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 EDIT:Its up now. lemme know if you want me to upload anything cuz im pretty much just uploading requests.
Cyringohn Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 That match was at GoForBroke on 02/21/07. Second links under the Guilty Gear clips for that day. Zappa battles against Dizzy, Eddie, then Millia. Pretty brutal. http://gfb.combovideos.com
Zoogstin Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 yeah its pretty beast. Cyringohn sorry I won't be around at NC state to play you. It'd be nice to trade Zappa strats. If you are by some random chance coming this Friday we may be able to arrange something.
Zoogstin Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 I like Zappa's new dog strategy when getting the opponent in the corner. Basically its go into the knockdown with 2D then go for the D, 4D unblockable and continue your rapeage from there....
Cyringohn Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 Dog is this player's worst Summon. Been tryin' to learn decent combos and pressure strings, but it's taking a lot of practice.
Dangief Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 I think that the Dog is the hardest summon to learn, personally. It is still my weakest one unless I get the sweetspot corner bite. The only thing about the new Dog is that there is no way to get a guaranteed knockdown anymore. It's bad enough that he can't sweep... did he have to lose 6HS knockdown? Of course, the flip-side to that is that the Dog combos are much sexier now.
Zoogstin Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 The dog has the highest learning curve but in Reload it was considered his best summon besides Raoh. The dog is still probably in the top two poistions. It by no means is his worst. My dog has gotten considerably better. I don't know what my worst summon is now. I love and practice all of them (except when I have the sword against Axl T_T). And yes the dogs combo's are sexier than ever now, not to mention the set ups it provides. At least the dog's 2D causes an untechable knockdown.
Cyringohn Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 After spending the day practicing with Dog [and comparing him to what he used to be], it seems they traded lockdown for versatility and utility. This player, now, tends to use Dog as a mix of pressure and punishment, as 5D, 8D, and even 4D, are pretty good at interruptions against most attacks that don't have a lot of priority [V.Viper]. If anything, Dog can be a meat shield for an attack, just like Eddie's Puppet. But hell, being able to do a second [or more?] 6D in Accent Core is wonderful for positioning. That, and 6D moves Dog much farther when he's already airborne. Can't wait to actually play it.
Jet Set Dizzy Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 Yea i always though dog was best, just way harder to use than the others.... but now the trio is looking GREAT. i love that off screen ghost outa nowhere move. Dog can be a meat shield for an attack, just like Eddie's Puppet. AND dizzy's fishes!
Zoogstin Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 The dog like Raoh intimidates people. Use it to your advantage!!! I always practice different combos with the dog. And they are more than just corner combos. Try mid screen combos and pressures as well. You'll need to be smart with the dog when you don't have the luxury of having your opponent on lockdown in the corner.
Zerite Posted March 1, 2007 Author Posted March 1, 2007 I like doing crossup mixups with um. Everything. Dog included.
Zoogstin Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 Alright AC frame data and character changes are up. All we need now is for them to be translated and we can figure out what and our other favorite characters can really do.
Oiboi Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 Tiamat liked my dog, but his sword was so much better than mine. Of course, I never really got up to speed at that tournament (which kind of bothers me) but I'd definitely want to fight him again. Anyways, My swords atrociously terrible -.o I've been practicing since the tourney, seeing if I can't fix that, but it's kind of hard to get out of bad habits. Although, I'm definitely loving the new sword changes. They sound awesome. Might make my gameplay a lot better. I would like it if they lowered the massive pushback the sword has so that we can actually do some nice, good combos, not just 6-8 hits every now and then... But that's probably why they did that, huh?
Zoogstin Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 I would like it if they lowered the massive pushback the sword has so that we can actually do some nice, good combos, not just 6-8 hits every now and then... But that's probably why they did that, huh? I understand how you feel. Its just that ever since 's 2HS with the sword became jump cancelable it became his strongest summon (besides Raoh of course). The JI combos you can do after a counter hit can cripple your opponent. That's why I love the sword so much.
Tiamat Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 Sword is the easiest of the summons to use IMO so it shouldn't be too hard for you to improve with it Oiboi. It plays almost like a 3S character...
Dangief Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 And the pushback was actually a godsend, because it finally made 236S pressure safe from most retaliation. And I think the ghosts are his easiest summon, not big damage, but the gameplan with them is uber simple and works across the board. Throw ghosts, get knockdown, go crazy, repeat.
Cyringohn Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 Triplet, for the most part, can just be hurled about and it'll still accomplish something. Most players just plain get frustrated and attempt to hit you in any way possible, which makes them make many more mistakes.
LM_Akira Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 Here are the Zappa combos I've translated from the back of the ^Core mook: Zappa 1. (No Summon) 2K, 2D, 236P RC dash 5S© 236P, dash 214D ( 78 ) 2. (No Summon) Throw, 5P, (?) ( 58 ) 3. (Dog Summon) 2K, 5S©, 6P, 6D air dash j.P (2 P...D...?) x5 5P, 2K, 2D (press 2+K+D) (91) 4. (Dog Summon) (corner) 5HS, 5D, {5S©, 2HS, 5D} x1~2 5S©, 2HS, 5D, 6HS (211) 5. (Dog Summon) 8D (CH) j.P, j.S JC 8D, j.P, j.S, 8D (104) *(1) 6. (Sword Summon) [63214HS (CH)] or [623HS (CH) FRC] dash 5S© JI 2HS (2 hits) HJC hj.S, dj.S, j.HS, 236HS (180) *(1) 7. (Sword Summon) (corner) 5S(f), 63214HS FRC dash 5S©, 2HS (1 hit) JC j.S, dj.S, j.D, 236HS (183) 8. (Ghost Summon) j.HS, 5S© JI 5HS HJC hj.P xN, dj.P, j.D, 236HS (116) 9. (Raoh Summon) 214S RC dash jump j.HS (land) j.S, j.HS dash 214S, 214S (331) 10. (Raoh Summon) (corner) 214S RC {dash 6HS, 236S, K} x3 dash 5S(f), 214S (399) 11. (Raoh Summon) 5D, j.HS x2, 2HS, 236S, 5S(f), 214S (256) 12. (Raoh Summon) (corner) 5D, 214S, j.S, j.HS dash 214S, 214S RC dash 214S, 214S ( 388 ) 13. (Raoh Summon) 2S, 5HS, 236S, K dash jump j.S, j.HS dash 214S (237) 14. (Raoh Summon) (...?) throw dash jump j.S, j.HS (land) j.S, j.HS dash 214S, 214S (171) *(3) Notes: Combo 1. uses Zappa's new Force Break move, 214D which rids him of any present summons and gives him an orb on hit. So technically the combo should give you 7 orbs for 75% Tension (as opposed to using 100% Tension and trying to combo into Raoh). Not sure about the end to Combo 2. I think Combo 3. is supposed to be done as a cross up with the Dog and the j.Ps. Combo 6. ends with Zappa's new Sword move in the air, 236HS. Combo 10. uses one of the new follow ups to Darkness Anthem, K which knocks the fireball at an angle toward the ground. Combo 11. is an Impossible Dust. The notes I added myself but there are further notes (and some small gaps) that I still need to sort out.
