I feel stupid for not noticing something so obvious, but Elphelt looks like an original Valentine from Overture.

Not . . . really . . .

Like outside of having a similar hair color [Valentine's was a deeper, truer hue of red] they share no similar features [Elphelt doesn't even have squid antennae ' 3']

1. Bedman knows who the Valentines are and probably works for "Mother".

2. "Mother" is connected to the Cradle and to the Senato members who are controlling it (and Valentines indirectly).

3. If what Bedman says is true, his client is "human", ergo "Mother" may be a human who is manipulating the Valentines somehow.

4. Guess who is the boss of the Senato?  The Holy Pope at Rome (who was mentioned in VastEdge info).

I'll let you do the rest of the math.

they share no similar features

Both have goofy hats, silly boob dresses, (El doesn't have a bat-like creature but Ram does), emotional problems (Valentine and Ram are mostly deadpan while El knocks herself out just by thinking) and they talk about okaa-san.

I can definitely see the similarities between the Valentines.

Those are all superficial, I meant physical features since someone stated they look alike [which they really don't]

The only really connection among them all is Mother; I suppose Valentine and Ramlethal act the most similar [although Valentine was a lot more alpha than the clearly beta Ramlethal] but they've all presented unique appearances, personalities, and actions from one another.

The original Valentine from Overture was more or less an Aria look alike. I'm not sure but wasn't it stated that each Valentine is kind of like Aria's fragmented personality? Like Ram is I don't know Anger/Hate and Elphelt is Love/Compassion etc.

Maybe I just dreamed that lol.

Similar doesn't mean that they all have to have the very exact same designs. They're all young-looking women with extreme personalities (Valentine and Ram are more doll-like, El is the complete opposite), wearing ridiculous hats and dresses (Ram and original have bat-winged creatures), all of them are capable of fighting, all of them end up being involved with Sol Badguy, etc.

You said yourself that they all have a connection with Mother, meaning their similarities aren't just superficial. Valentine and Ram came from the Backyard and from the cutscene we know that Ram knows who El is. If you put them all together they would definitely look like they belong in the same crew. Also, it's not like they're just a bunch of characters who are coincidentally named Valentines. Valentines are an actual thing in the Guilty Gear universe, so it makes sense for them to have similarities.

Similar doesn't mean they're 100% the same, it just means they resemble each other in many aspects, which they do.

Leo's hobby is compiling his own personal lexicon; he likely has languages from around the world mixed up because he took a personal fancy to them.

Though gotta admit, if I had a friend I went to war with, I'd be pretty offended/pissed if he was still calling me a child ' ^'

THINK.  FOCUS.

Read my post very carefully.  Work those brain cells.

If you don't know who Bedman's true client is by now after all those hints... I'm going to be sad.

Well, as I understood, Blade hints that Bedman works for "Mother" who is actually a "human", Holy Pope, and she controls both Senate and Valentines (well, not El it seems). But there is a lot of "maybe"s and "guess"s. So we need to wait to uncover that in game (or maybe the next game, it's Xrd Sign after all, I feel there will be a cliffhanger).

What does Xrd Sign mean?

I think Sign is like omen to something big happen, that is why I'm not sure that everything is going to be revealed in one game (like BB). I might be wrong, ofc.

That Man said that the true menace will come one day that'll make the Holy War seem like a child's play, and also mentioned about the Merciless Apocalypse in Overture (aka "Mother"). So the "SIGN" is probably like the prelude of what he meant by that.

So that pretty much throws XX out of canon?

Or just didn't have much of a story to summarize I guess..

We already went over this when the Japanese timeline was released.

XX was pretty much filler; nothing really "happens" and it is an easy enough insertion point, especially since many objectives in Xrd are similar to how characters started off/ended up at the end of XX.

So the Senato has been renamed to the Conclave, and Bardius was apparently a mistranslation.

Ground Viper / Grand Viper......

I don't even care anymore... call it whatever sounds cooler to YOU.

So long as people know what you're talking about.

Senato sounds LATIN so I'll stick with it (along with cool words like "Sanctus Populi").

@Guilty Valentine: Read this article I wrote on GG's Gaiden.

Too bad for The Midnight Carnival... It was the only thing that made curious about learning more of GG's world and even part of the reason to main I-No in the game, but even so, stuff like Chipp defeating Venom and later wanting to become President must be canon, or the whole thing happening now in Xrd doesn't make any sense at all.
