I'm sad I can't find videos of the story mode ;_;  Why are they so strict with this thing?

In that case, it's just inconsistency in the writing. Elphet might just have a better sonar function than Valentine to discover Ky has a bit of Gear in him, but I doubt that will be detailed. But back to Ky, the story about the eyepatch was talked about a few pages back. One user brought up a "what if" scenario that Ky surgically took Sin's right eye, likely the red eye, and implanted it to his left socket,

which contributed to why I still don't believe he was able to conceal it without an eyepatch. If we stuck with the idea that the red eye was something Ky got himself, maybe a surgical procedure to hide would have been better to believe...but then why does Sin have an eyepatch? I don't feel these two subtheories will be able to confirm each other without a contradiction.

My bad. Then that about confirms that he has a red eye or, to a lesser extent, a Gear power behind that eye. His IK can attest to that. So it kinda negates the idea that Ky took Sin's right eye

or he switched it.

We have been talking about the possibility of Ky having Gear powers for the past few pages. That's the only plausible detail we have right now. There's no other way he would've survived a gunshot otherwise. IIRC, he was shot from the front, right? If he was, then it'd be funny, Ky of all people taking a gunshot.

 

As for the other question, I'm pretty sure it's a continuity error.

Another interesting thing about Ky parrying Q's new tech is

There's that scene right after showing Dizzy being startled by having a bad feeling. Sin didn't have a scene like that which makes me think she's more the source of his powers as Gears are shown to be at least partially psychic. Mostly with Justice's control via her will and Sol & Dizzy having headaches when the plot demands it.

 

Of course, I could just be reading into it too much and its just her wife-sense.

 

And about Ky getting cleaned up after the attack, remember that Gears have outfit changing abilities: see Dizzy's pre-fight intros and Sol getting new clothes while in Dragon Install.

Being from Ohio was in his profile in GG2 as well. Or, more accurately, he was manufactured there. Gears are made not born (not counting Sin and Dizzy as far as we know).

I assumed (with no evidence to back it up) that Bedman's '8th Generation Bedframe' allows him to harness his incredible dream and illusion based power in the real world, which manifests as teleportation, superhuman strength and what have you. Then when he drags you into his dream world that's when he becomes nigh omnipotent and the like.

 

I remember it says in his bio he was a boy who 'slept through the terrifying remodeling of his roll-away bed', and I always assumed it was against his will, but now I\m thinking he had it done himself. Why? I dunno.

The President of The United States is like a reoccurring side character in story mode.

I live in Ohio so that's really funny. if there's one thing we do here well it's manufacturing(cars) so it's strangely fitting.

A buddy of mine pointed all of this out so I don't take credit:

 

*Ky wore an eyepatch during the Overture Short Stories because it was speculated he did so Sin wouldn't feel self conscious about wearing one.

* Ky mentions during his reunion with Dizzy that his hair keeps growing now no matter how much he cuts it. Sin's win quote against Venom mentions having to cut his hair every three days

*Elphelt's ability to detect people only works on gears. She was expecting to find Sol or Sin but ended up with Ky.

*Ky's clothing went back to looking like normal when meeting up with everyone else. If you consider Dizzy's ability to change or regenerate clothing well....

 

The good thing is that Ky won't die before Dizzy or his son!

 

To sum it up I hope to see Gear!Ky in another game, Black Elph, some of the missing cast, and the leader of Zepp doing Heaven or Hell.

I'm not sure if Ky being a Gear justifies getting a whole different playable version of him. We can just give him his own Dragon Install. Royal Install!

Ok so something about Sol, Aria, and That Man bothers me.

 

Do you think that during the time that Sol went missing, That Man and Aria developed a relationship together? That Man came off to me like he really cared about Aria in this game, the way he wants to save her and the guilt he feels for having her destroy Japan. Now here's the fucked up part, could That Man be the half human in Dizzy? Could she be his Daughter? As far as I know Sol and Aria never met again after he went missing, or am I wrong? I would love someone to say I'm wrong because this would fuck up the story in my opinion =/

Ok so something about Sol, Aria, and That Man bothers me.

 

Some of the older speculations about this lead me back to GGXX story mode

 

Basically, That Man had no idea Dizzy even existed until he met her.

 

The explanation of Dizzy being half-gear that I think is most likely is that:

- Fred & Aria have a relationship

- Fred freaks out over Aria's terminal illness and rushes with the Gear Project in an effort to save her. Of course things go way WAY wrong and Dragon Fred probably went berserk EVA-style.

- That Man has Aria put in cryosleep/stasis while she is already carrying Dizzy in some stage of unnoticed development

- Years later, to save Aria from her illness, That Man applies the Gear conversion to her (and Dizzy)

- But things go wrong yet again and things get Gamma Ray'd. Then Justice goes berserk and starts the Crusades.

- And to explain why Dizzy's birth supposedly happens while Justice was in the Dimensional Prison, I figure she laid an egg with Dizzy inside. Its how Sin was born after all.

Well the only clue I get that it might not be the case is when That Man mentions to Aria that she wants to see Frederick again during the Justice flashback. Leads me to believe she still has feelings for Frederick and That Man is fully aware of that using it as an incentive to bring her back from the brinck.

Do you think hat girls...ummm Valentines are GGs Murakumos? Will we see more of them to come? Also I hope the third Kind is a woman just for laughs and she'll be like Fate/Stay Nights Gilgamesh to Leo's  Alexander and Ky'sd Arthur!
