Doomscyther Posted June 21, 2007 Author Posted June 21, 2007 didnt think their was people in Baton Rouge who play.
kenmastersX Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 didnt think their was people in Baton Rouge who play. There's one guy who I played with consistently for the past 3 years, he's the main reason I haven't gotten too rusty with my play. He just recently gotten a GG scene maybe a year ago, now they range from okay to pretty good.
ParryPerson Posted July 1, 2007 Posted July 1, 2007 omg why doesnt anyone in Louisana play ;( we do, but what you have to do is put yourself out there and make an active effort to play. You can't just sit around and complain and not do anything. whoever you are, if you have a myspace add yourself to www.myspace.com/NLAFGC
ParryPerson Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 I heard SOMEONE is getting a CRT, about time! Honestly it was really frustrating trying to land even FRC's on your LCD mang.
vegta12 Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 i am not helping him move a big ass crt tv up to his room so good luck. dont know why he would buy a brand new tv.
kenmastersX Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 CRTs are awesome outside of the weight thing. :p Suck it up.
kenmastersX Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 Man, I went into the SEC thread and clicked on the link to the beginning of this thread. I hate being broke. btw, I saw at least one match of young Kobe's Baiken doing pretty well against Jais's Bridget. Not bad.

ParryPerson Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 i am not helping him move a big ass crt tv up to his room so good luck. dont know why he would buy a brand new tv. with a custom arcade stick being 160 and a HRAP2 being 99, PS2 being 130, 130 for a 20inch flat 4:3 aspect CRT from wal mart isn't a huge investment, as for a place, his room is pretty small, yes, but he's taking this seriously enough now to not play on a laggy TV. his current TV is great for a computer monitor/movies but it suffers from lag, which will own you if you learn on it and then go to a tourney expecting the timing to be the same. There is a reason the top FPS players use CRT. in fact if you want a good test, pop in a shoot 'em up game with a ton of stuff going on (mars matrix/giga wing 2) on that LCD and look how fast everything falls apart, it just can't keep up with everything going so fast. CRT is still the "better" choice for competitive games with it's extremely high refresh rate and no lag. Found another player in Shreveport, he's "Kurumster" on here and SRK. you get on that stick Kobe and start beasting!
vegta12 Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 parry u must not have seen my room with my 15yr old tv thats crt :X. also i wouldnt be surprised kurumstar is alex, i dont know if u met him
ParryPerson Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 alex.... no I never met him, I didn't know he knew you guys, he's trying to learn Marvel (and I hope he sticks with it). and yeah I saw your room........... but I don't think I saw the floor lol.
Zinac Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 So looks like me and Jais are going to this Houston shin dig, so we'll be passing through New Orleans. Stone are you up for some matches ?
kenmastersX Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 So looks like me and Jais are going to this Houston shin dig, so we'll be passing through New Orleans. Stone are you up for some matches ? Oh wow. Let me know when you'll be in town, I'll have to set up an off day, and also to gather the bit of crew we have. What day are you guys getting here?

kenmastersX Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 Well we're not actually 100%, I'll let you know asap. Okay. Remember that Houston is a five hour-six hour drive counting on how fast you go. I'm also willing to house you guys for the night if you come on Friday night, I just will have to make a whole lot of room since I don't really have much to accommodate more than one person as far as sleeping.
Astor Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Hello everyone. I just joined the site and I am looking for others in my area. I live in Lafayette and the only people I have to play with is a couple of my friends. So far I've only played Isuka which I know isn't the best one but it's all I've got. One of my friends has GGX but that's a bit outdated. I'm planning on picking up Accent Core as soon as it releases stateside. I'm a decent Sol player and that's about it. I'm probably very bad by you guys' standards but I want to get together with someone in my area and maybe get some help with getting better. I'm not that worried about tournies right now as I'm nowhere near ready. Anyway, if any of you could help me out that would be cool.
Doomscyther Posted July 16, 2007 Author Posted July 16, 2007 I believe the closest place for you to find comp is Baton Rouge(1hr drive) and new orleans(2hr drive). If you ever come up to northern LA, aka near shreveport I wouldnt mind teaching and helping you play Sol and/or HOS (which to me I think is kewler then regular sol). God I hate waking up this early.
Zinac Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Ok, Stone, we're leaving tommorow evening. Whether or not we stop in Birmingham is going to effect when we come through on Thursday. Again, I'll try to let you know asap, if Jais doesn't beat me to the punch.
kenmastersX Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Ah, okay. Make sure you contact me by phone (504)717-6976 or the forums. I might have some problems as far as timing comes by since I work from 3pm to 10pm Thursday, but if you guys come through Friday I can work around my job.
vegta12 Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 I wish louisiana would hurry up and sink faster so more people could be closer to shreveport.

I'm not sure if we'll make it before 3pm on Thursday. We're leaving tommorow evening and staying in Bama for a bit. I'll ask Jais.
