ArcDriveFantasi Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 I would like to see a character with the ability to copy the opponents drive. Although slightly altered and a bit weaker, after all the original should always be stronger. <ex.if Rachel's Silpheed is copied it would only have 3 uses instead of 4 and when used in the exact opposite direction it would simply reduce damage.> i actually have a lot more already planned out but i'm a lazy typist
swordsman09 Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 I had this idea for Makoto's sister Mikoto as a Taekwondo character, but that won't happen with Yuuki Terumi around.
HoudiniJr100 Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 We did see taro and his epic string gloves... Maybe he can be the obligatory spiderman character with the power to swing from side to side
BlackYakuzu94 Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 Linhua, her drive would be to win just by existing. Seriously post will come later.
Dark Ranger88 Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 I had this idea for Makoto's sister Mikoto as a Taekwondo character, but that won't happen with Yuuki Terumi around. Damn I actually like that idea. If Bullet didn't exist I would want to see Mikoto as a speedy grappler character who does all kinds of sexy suplexes on her opponents while wearing an outfit about as skimpy as Makoto's. She would also have to be a handful of years younger than Makoto (like 15 or 16ish) to make it even more absurd that she can throw around the entire cast + Tager. Super...Sexy...Mikoto.....................Busterrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!
Teutonicknight Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 I want to see a two-style character like what Zelda has in the smash games, an opponent that makes you have to change strategies entirely throughout the whole match. Not like Valk where it's a temporary transformation, but a full-fledged style with it's own set of specials, normals, and Distortions. Basically a character with double the amount of moves than everyone, but no real Drive to gain a seriously huge advantage. The style switch IS the drive.
Yazumatto Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 Damn I actually like that idea. If Bullet didn't exist I would want to see Mikoto as a speedy grappler character who does all kinds of sexy suplexes on her opponents while wearing an outfit about as skimpy as Makoto's. but why Plus, isn't she the brains of the squirrel fam? I also forgot the age modifiers on all of them and this is a "wishlist" thread so whatever. put_taro_in_bbcp2 put_cajun_in_bbcp2 Cajun would be doing some analyzing, if you know what I mean. MODOK-style...
Starlight777 Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 A character whose entire gimmick is dealing damage over time via poisons or inflicting a multitude of ailments. The character should have a low damage output to encourage the use of said poisons and effects.

Chaoschao222 Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 (edited) this is a "wishlist" thread so whatever. What did I do to you guys But seriously, Zepp is the 'arts & crafts' section more or less. I'll leave this for now since it's not a big concern, but if this thread starts to just get stupid, it'll be ruined for everyone. Edited September 26, 2013 by Chaoschao222 needs the nofun bot
Ajantas Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 A character whose entire gimmick is dealing damage over time via poisons or inflicting a multitude of ailments. The character should have a low damage output to encourage the use of said poisons and effects. Maybe have like a poison counter that stacks with multiply-use and the stack duration will refresh once another poison is applied or something. OD will lock poison timer etc. Sort of like the opposite of Naoto's Fate Counter mechanic but with the need to manage the counters on your opponent.

Dark Ranger88 Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 Or a character who's drive is to disable the opponent's drive or specials (for a short amount of time) whenever a D attack connects. They would also have a distortion that disables certain abilities for an extended period of time. Or a DD that disables the opponent's use of heat. A drive or move that disables specials would give them good oki because it would disable wakeup DPs. Hakumen and Noel would absolutely hate the moves that disable drives.
Myoro Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 I had an Idea for a character with fun time stop shinanigans. Basically this is how he/she'd work: they'd have a gauge above their heat bar that has 6-7 seconds stored inside of it (I personally would have it stylized with a clock hand pointing to how full the gauge is) Theyd be given around 10,000 health a fast forward dash and air dash, but a slower backdash/back air dash that covers very little distance. A normals would be jabs. B normals kicks. C normals would use whatever weapon I decide to give him further down the road. His drive of coarse would involve his time stop mechanic. they would have a fairly low damage moveset with non remarkable gatlings, that is until Time Stop is used. Like Carl or Relius his/her drive will be used to link together small strings of attacks for more damaging combos. How the drive would work: Time stoppage will not be as broken as it sounds. 214D (ground or air) will, after some fair startup and a really obvious animation, "stop time." This move hits the entire screen, but can be blocked high, low, and in the air. If it is blocked you will lose 2-3 seconds of gauge and experience punishable recovery. If the move is successful the screen goes monochrome and your opponent is put in their hitstun position, but any projectiles they or you launched stay on the screen immobile until the time stop is over. another important note is that if you attack your opponent while they are stopped YOU will take damage. while time is stopped your opponent is locked in space time so if you punch him you'll only succeed in hurting your hand. in the event that this happens on the ground this character will have an animation where they are nursing their injured hand if you used a jab or his weapon, or hopping around with a stubbed toe if he used his foot. if it was an air attack you will simply fall out of the air in an untechable state until you reach the ground. In any case whenever this happens your opponent will be set free from their time lock state and the announcer will say "COUNTER" and we'll all laugh at you. the way around this is canceling the time stop right as you're about to hit the opponent with your next attack. this is done by pressing "D" at any time while the opponent is stopped. The time stop move has a cooldown after you cancel it, so you can't just spam it after every other move. also your opponent's Bursts are disabled during time stop, but if a burst is attempted during timestop it will happen IMMEDIATELY as soon as it is canceled. (a trick to get around that would be to use a distortion or overdrive during time stop, THEN cancelling it) Time stop gauge is very precious. once spent it is difficult to get back. It can be refilled in 3 ways. It does recharge naturally but very slowly, it Would take about 30-35 in game seconds to refill the whole gauge from empty this way. Pressing 5D j.D and 2.D while time is not stopped charges this gauge. 5D will get you 2 seconds for every second spent charging, j.D gets you 1 second per second (and you float down like tsubaki's j.D) and lastly 2D will get you 3 seconds per second spent charging, but it has recovery frames. This character also has a slow/obvious command grab which has a C and D version. 623C will get your ENTIRE timestop gauge back and set you at neutral (dealing no damage.) the D version will only recover 2 seconds but will Immediatly put your opponent in time stop for a combo. That's most of the thinking I've done for this character. I also want him/her to have a projectile that stays motionless in time stop, so that it may extend combos when time is resumed. Please, anyone, help me to flesh out this character/ Balance this character! =) TL;DR: ZA WARUDO!!

I'll leave this for now since it's not a big concern, but if this thread starts to just get stupid, it'll be ruined for everyone. By stupid, you mean totally overblown to the point of no return? That won't take long, lol. We need a character who's drive is the "Nerf Bat", and the Astral would be the "Ban Hammer".
Wild Candy Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 Sort of Persona-esque Idea. But I think a zoner character who throws Tarot Cards at people would be fun. Basically, his Drive would work similar to Platinum, where he'd have a card set as next. When he tosses that card, depending on the Arcana, it would have a different effect. Like Death would cause Life Drain, Hanged Man would disable Drive for a small amount of time, Strength would cause wall stick, Chariot would cause Ground Slide, etc. Also, all of his specials and supers would reference Tarot Card Accana, like Illusion Moon, Forever Sun, Devine Judgement, Holy Star, Magician's Secret, etc.

Yes, things like this are what will get this thread killed. Someone who put time into making the most bullshit OP chuuni nonsense would be preferred over lololtehfunnyz posts. If a thread is going to contradict Zepp's rules and stay, the least it can do is have serious (relatively speaking) posts. Edited September 26, 2013 by Chaoschao222

If I were to have another idea for a character, it would be someone who switches between drives overtime. Completely randomized, the character can end up either being super ungodly broken good, or just plain bad, depending on just what drives they get in a row during combos. It would be something like MK Trilogy's Chameleon, how he shifts through all the other ninja's playstyles. It would be pretty neat to see what this kind of character's highest damage combo would be.

Mei from Xblaze could disable Drives for a short time, make her playable than and make that her drive.
Tsuki Garyuu Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 (edited) Thought of this idea for quite a long time. A Yatagarasu character to draw more connections to the Japanese mythos in the game, such as being Amaterasu's personal observer and being the Sun to Rachel's Moon. I.e. he's her spear counterpart that, as far as gameplay is concerned, has a similar concept that's still drastically different. I'll name him Allen Croe for now. References: Rachael with a dash of Wallachia Playstyle: Evasion and set-ups. Allen Croe's relatively low normal damage is complemented by his ability to abuse traps and mines (in the form of crows and instant runes) while having teleports, evasive counters, and pressuring normals akin to Wallachia. All these combined creates a character that can be nearly uncatchable and can earn you good damage from combos the moment you catch your opponent. However, all (but one) traps have a time limit for which they eventually disappear. A rather short time limit. How does our little raven compensate for this? With his Drive, of course. Some specials: One special of note is the Sword Iris counterpart. Croe summons a rune on the ground with black feathers encircling it. The distance of which the rune is cast varies on the buttons A, B, and C. Simply inputing the command has the rune activate and unleash a small burst of wind with small damage and hitbox. Holding down the associated button after the input will leave the rune on the ground that lasts the whole fight. After that, a 22A command has these runes unleash a small tornado at once. Drive: "Third Leg." Instead of a Drive that blows traps across the field, Allen Crowe can just warp them back and forth across the stage, except for the ground runes. You can even teleport them as soon as you cast them. You hold still for a bit when the Drive is used (unlike Rachael who can uses hers instantly), you can teleport traps a finite number of times w/ cooldown, but what this means is Crowe is allowed Drive Specials. I'll stop here for now as I'm leaving it unfinished. Or just leave it the way it is. Tis an idea, after all. Edited September 27, 2013 by Tsuki Garyuu
NemesisZeru Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 (edited) Ohey, this is the perfect place for the character I thought up a while back, Theta! I sorta made a random topic to bring up the idea and show off my spritework, but now this topic exists, soooo~ Theta-8! Lorewise, she'd be a salvaged Murakumo unit, similar to Lambda...but without the ability to replicate Nu's sword-spammyness, more Tager-like tech was used in her construction, granting her the electrical weapon called the Artificial Causality Weapon: Mjolnir. Drive: Thunderclap Upon hitting the enemy a certain number of times(Say...3 hits/blocks of one of her D moves/specials?), Theta gains a Static Charge. While her D moves usually have strong hitting effects(wallbounce, groundbounce, etc), they have long recoveries that require one to use RCs to follow up(Although they're relatively safe on block thanks to high blockstun and/or knockback). However, with a Static Charge, D can be pressed a second time during the move to release a bolt of lightning, striking the enemy several times and allowing a followup at the cost of the charge. In general, she'd be a very...smashy character, if that makes sense, her combos being relatively short, but with multiple bounces and whatnot for solid damage, with a weakness to zoners(Since she wouldn't really have any safe ways to get in, at least that I've thought of). Somewhat similar to Tsubaki, she has a Distortion Drive that can potentially use all of her Static Charges, called Divine Lightning. However, unlike Tsubaki's, where there's a special input for using stocks and no stocks, one can rapidly press D during the super to call down more lightning for extra damage. Suzaku Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Apart from obvious choices (the other Duodecim, the Six Heroes, the Invictus, etc.), I'd really like to see them introduce a member of the NOL Air Corps -- the only military branch of the NOL we haven't seen represented at all yet. They wear green uniforms and use special armagus aircraft called "shebalves," which I like to imagine as something between a glider and a hoverboard... Could lead to an interesting drive and playstyle.
