Even Korean fans have joked about Kagura being the next protagonist.

The thing is though.....

He is like in his 30's... (nearly same age as Bang)

I am still rooting for Kagura x Noel to happen though.

I don't know why, but Kagura isn't really much main protagonist material if compared to Ragna in a way =w=;

Either it is because he didn't have that much of a personal story in CP or I am not too sure...

Maybe because Ragna still has to grow and overcome trials, Kagura not so much.

So, besides Ragna, who has trials left to overcome? I'm just curious.

Pretty much all 3 protagonists need to go over trials.

Ragna needs to pretty much overcome the influence of Azure Grimoire from taking him over and needs to start walking down the path of a protector/savior in a proper way. Because the way he tried to "save" Nu was kind of half-assed and it didn't seem like he whole heartily tried to save her that much. If compared to how Makoto, Noel and Jin tried to save Tsubaki, the way Ragna was that he didn't really seem to have enough feelings or resolve to save her that much. From just looking at that, I would say that's not really how he should be saving people. Like how Makoto, Noel and Jin saved Tsubaki, for Ragna there probably is a specific method or way that he must follow in order to save others. He probably needs to overcome more incoming trials in order to become the Guardian of the Azure.

Jin... I'd say he still needs to get stronger. From what I saw in CP, it doesn't seem like he truly wants to kill Ragna really that badly compared to before. Even Kagura seems to want to avoid the brotherly murder route and instead is trying to bring them back together as good brothers. His next trial may relate to his resolve or something. After saving Tsubaki, he didn't have much important dialogue.

Noel is slowly getting back memories as Saya. The reason and method of how she can be Saya is still unexplained so that needs to be covered first. Her next trial is probably related to her lost memories of the past. Also as Successor of the Azure and the Eye maybe.

My thoughts:

Ragna: Yeah, his effort with Nu wasn't the best. He believed that she would just change after she was out of Take-mikazuchi? Ragna should have realized that even if Nu want to be "saved" in the bottom of her heart he must reach the bottom part of her heart and pull it out. Since Ragna is the "Destroyer of the World" the only way I can think that Ragna will "save" things is to "destroy" things. He must learn to accept who he is and find out what that needs to be destroyed.

Jin: He needs to stop begin so self-centered. Look around and learn that the world is bigger then he thinks, and start to take some responsibility over Kisaragi family. He seems to have started to realize it with his line "maybe my world is too narrow".

Noel: Yeah, it's likely has you said. But still, i'm wondering what Hakumen's line to Noel in Mu's CS arcade meant: "I thought that it could be possible that if it was you that you could heal the Azure"

But I thought Destroyer of the World was a negative thing in a way? As for taking Nu out of Take-Mikazuchi, nah I don't think that really had much anything to do with saving. It was just another thing he had to do. What I mean is that all he said was that he would save her, but all he did was subdue her. There weren't much feelings involved in the process. The way Noel, Makoto and Jin saved Tsubaki had more feelings imbued into it if compared.

Also for Jin, yeah he is still too self-centered. He is still like a frog in a well somewhat.

As for Noel, maybe it has to do with how Azure is kind of corrupt in a way?

I don't think that the Destroyer of the World is really negative, it's only says that it's destroys all kinds of order and is the worlds enemy. While it can destroy the entire world if it goes too far, it can also only destroy the "corrupt" orders of the world. It can also be this what Amane meant with that it could be dangerous to use Ragna as the center actor.

Also, I don't believe that Izanami is the real problem, she is only the symptom of it.

Yea, being a "destroyer" isn't necessarily a bad thing, but rather what Ragna decides to destroy. Just like how it was said, Jin's power of order can be used for good or evil, the same can be said for Ragna's azure. Perhaps he can destroy all of the corruption that is leading the world astray.

Also, Kagura is all but confirmed to possibly be the new protagonist of BB4; they've been joking and hinting at this since his announcement.

Well Ragna should have ask for advice from Makoto and Noel for saving people then maybe the fourth game would let them know of that but has to get inside Nu's feelings.

I know a lot of pepole will dissagre with this but i think Noel is the most developed and best charcter out of the three..

Flat out random guesses that have no backing at all may be removed if I notice them on the main forum page.

I wouldn't go far as "confirmed" really.

True, "Hinted really" seems more appropriate.

But why would an old guy in his 30's (?) become the next protagonist?!

Sounds weird if you put him together with Jin and Noel in a way...

*imagines a cover with the three of them being in the center of the illustration*

Yeah... kind of weird...

Anyhow, I think that we should know by 2015 about the next storyline...

Ragna isn't exactly a teenager either ya know.

No but he's been our eyes and ears for three whole games. At best I feel Kagura will start the story off in BB4 and Ragna will take the helm at the midway point. You know it's kind of funny that there is still so much we don't know about Ragna yet.

I never said I want Kagura to permanently take over, I hope Ragna comes back in full force after he gets over his current predicament, but at the moment he's kind of indisposed.

Ragna is like 18 I think

Bullshit, especially since he's already a teenager in his backstory, he's easily in his mid twenties.

I'd put him closer to 22, 24 at the absolutely oldest. It would make him 15 during the church's destruction which sounds about right to me. Ragna didn't look nor sound like a child in his flashback in CS.
