Didn't work on Rachel in 1.0 but haven't tested in 1.1. I tested these, in the above one 5B doesn't connect/reach and in the lower one the timing between j.C and Valiant is infuriatingly tight, otherwise it should work. ^I'll dare to say that OD BHS > RC > 22C is the best most damaging use of RC for Azrael. Also: [LW] 214D > j.C x3 > j.D > RC > air throw > 2A > TC > 236D > [6*5C] x 4 > 5D ~ 5.5k, can't remember the exact number.

TheArm05 Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Yeah I have stopped doing 5C > 236A > RC > 3C completely. It dropped in tournament for me way too many times so I just don't trust it anymore. Although TBH on crouchers it doesn't usually whiff and there are ranges where I could guarantee the 3C even on standing so I SHOULD still do it sometimes. The damage is really high and it is clearly the optimal no weakpoint combo route. I have to find a healthy medium I guess.

I verse my friend who's a really good Nu13 player and IMO she's one of the best Anti-Azrael characters out there. Anyways I was wondering if you guys know some really good techniques to use on her/ tips i should know/ what are things that i can use to punish Nu13 with Az./ General play style when versing Nu13. Any help will do. Here are things that I do know when fighting her. -Stock up on P.Cannon, use it to get in/ P.Cannon-> BHS if she's about to die. -G.buster->Rapid->3C-22C-> Combo (Good mix up and combo but it can get punished badly if blocked or expect it.) That's pretty much all i know. I know G.bsuter is good to get in but with the constant projectiles, and back dashing, it's easily stopped. Maybe I'm using it at wrong times? Any help will do !

All the old combos still work I think, but every now and then if I delay the followup normal too much the opponent can tech earlier than I remember. Though I may be remembering incorrectly. Nor does it actually make much of a difference.
Fatalis Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Maybe a little bit, it makes the combo slightly harder, but only by the slightest amount. In the grand scheme of things, if it was changed, it doesn't make that big of a difference.

In corners, you can do 5BB>Phalanx>5C>TC>Valiant instead of doing 5BB>TCL>RC>Valiant, saving yourself 50 meter, does more damage than 5B>2C>2B>TC>Valiant too if I'm not mistaken.

They only work relatively close to the corner obviously due to the knockback on phalanx. I got a couple examples that I am sure people can build on. Corner 6A > 5B ODc > 2C > 6D > Phalanx > 5B > j.BC > dj.D > TC Valiant > 6 5Cx4 > 6 3C > BHS is about 6.1k Corner Dump > OD > 5B > 2C > 6D > Phalanx > 5B > j.BC > dj.D > 5D > dump > Valiant > 6 5Cx4 > 6 6D > 3C > BHS = 7132 Done with 60% life OD. Could easily add more in for less life.

Yeah I definitely agree Phalanx is really strong for our neutral game and worth keeping. However in the case you can kill somebody with it, it's also probably worth using it to add the additional damage to a combo, finishing a person off. TheArm05 definitely found some good stuff.

I used to have a problem with this as well, but it turns out you can just hold 2 the whole time before going into TCL. Keep holding down until you have to do the qcf motion, then just do it from 2 to 6.

And like I said, 2B > 236C > 46C is fine, but it's like when I'm doing it fo realz, by starting it with 2C, it's mucking me up. I'm even watching the inputs in Training mode and everything looks correct, it just kind of refuses to do 46C sometimes.
greatfernman Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 (edited) I'm even watching the inputs in Training mode and everything looks correct, it just kind of refuses to do 46C sometimes. it may be that you're buffering tiger early enough that if you do cobra with the regular timing it doesn't come out because tiger isn't in the follow-up input frames yet. try delaying tiger (or cobra, but i feel like delaying tiger would be more comfortable so you can do the cobra follow-up with regular timing.) EDIT: i don't mean so that tiger actually comes out delayed, i mean delay the input. also note that i may be spewing nonsense and be completely incorrect about tiger follow-up input frames and whatnot Edited May 23, 2014 by greatfernman

I actually have a bigger problem, if anyone knows how to repair or adjust things with arcade sticks that would be great. Because for some reason it seems to spaz out between numbers 1 and 2, which kills both my intended moves and blocking game.

Just a kind of general gameplay discussion for each respective game. It seems that SRK has the appropriate topics but, the bad thing about that is that there's too MUCH information.
