So presenting KOF2002 Unlimited Match: logo: official site: http://game.snkplaymore.co.jp/official/kof2002um/ scans: character select screen: Characters returning: Lin, Bao, Jhun, Foxy, Kyo1, Kyo-2, Heidern, Xiang Fei, Hinako, King, Shingo, and Foxy. K9999 has been replaced by Nameless: Info on Nameless: Fat Cat Lim (a mod from Orochinagi) is in Tokyo for the TGS and he has some Impressions from Nameless.. Fat Cat Lim @ Orochinagi: Nameless IS basically K9999...but with a different sprite. I was thinking who the hell he was and when I played him, I realized that he had all of K9999 moves, lol. But some moves have been given different properties and animation. - Nameless standing animation is rather lame. Makes him look quite stiff. - His uppercuts (DP P) have longer range and different animation. - QCF P have improved range and different animation. - QCB K have improved range and...uh, yeah. you get the idea. - His 1632143 P super now appears as a pillar of reddish fire. Looks and feel like it has shorter range. - Dwn K is a sweep, while DF K is his slide. His Dwn C is still the same, but I don't think it sweeps anymore. Will try out more of him tomorrow just to see if he retained his tentacle and shooting supers. SNK says the game is currently 65% complete, but all of the characters were available for play. Maybe they still need to test for bugs - some background music was interrupted when changing rounds. Oh yeah, the Sharp monitors they used for the game was really shitty - the game colors looked horribly washed out and appeared even more pixelated. I'll update whenever I can. iora Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 i play '02 on ggpo a lot, and im much more into '02 then '98 im excited, and i like the art for nameless more then k9999 :D hype for the ....new.... guy lol only snk would be balls enough to revise their fighters every year, and then re-release old years as new games lol awesome, lookin forward to it

She's been in just about every new kof game, which isn't what I can say for andy. That's just messed up! Also, I'm assuming that, this time, snk's going for the largest cast in a kof game to date. Far be it for me to judge, but that's a recipe for brokenness. btw... no more angel inf! [EDIT] Indeed... K9999 will be missed! [EDIT2] yuri's new voice is HORRIBLE! But, whatever... xiang-fei's taking her place on my team anyway.

Incognito Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 Nameless reminds me of that one Kyo clone from the comic, i think his name was X or something. He looks great in the artwork, but his animation is just plain ugly and stiff compared to K9999....seriously it just looks half assed. I think it would've been better if Nameless took Kusanagi's slot/name too, and have the old kusanagi Moveset on either kyo1or2. Also, if his sprites are gonna be that stiff then just make him a complete sprite edit of k9999 if it will make it easier....i mean even that would be more pleasing to the eye. Putting that aside, the game looks great so far, awesome art direction, and some nice returning characters like Foxy. What i'm really waiting for is the chance to get my hands on a new Seth.

Of course he's based on "you know who" and has, well, similarities that we're happy a certain "you know who" didn't object to. If you count the similarities between "you know who" and the other "you know who," you'd be counting from now to St. Swithun's Day. K9999 boasts a big following of fans in Korea and Japan, but no other character has such obstacles against him appearing in KOF again. Yup, he sure is a hard character to comment on...." I'm assuming she'll also be in KOFXII, though haven't cared enough to bother looking at the roster (YES YOU DUMBASSES, IT'S SPELLED "ROSTER" NOT "ROOSTER"!!!). That post was more of a rant over the fact that snk left out andy for 2 games (or 3 depending on what happens in KOFXII) yet constantly bring back some random chick that few actually know or even care about.
