Hakumen's only #9 and he's getting NERFED. Arc obviously doesn't know what they're doing at all. Hire Eventhubs to make BBCP1.2

BUFF HAKUMEN AGAIN

just give him unlimited haku projectile counter cause screw everyone else in the cast

but, on topic; what would exactly contribute as "favouritism"? is it keeping a character strong, or an archetype consistently powerful, or is it keeping low tiers low? its a matter of perception. and thats what it should stay as, pretty much. there's no way to accurately say this as its technically an opinion.

thats all that i can think of that needs saying on this idea/debate

No. :P

And it was more balanced than CP.

sorry, Redsilversnake, but if you want to argue it wasn't balanced, you'll need to come up with something more than "I say it felt slapped together."  because it was just an interative change on CS2.  There's nothing "slapped together" about that.  If anything, CP feels "slapped together" because they changed so much crap without, apparently, any real thought on what it means.   Honestly, I consider it a near miracle the game wasn't a complete balance train wreck.

You mean like most of the people we don't see in grand finals? Aren't most of us here intermediate to lower in terms of skill so why should we have a opinion? That's what I'm getting from your response

you just asked if people who are not good at a game and not playing the game at it's highest potential should care about balance. just take a step back and think about that.

I mean, think about what you just suggested - you basically said "If character X is too much like character Y, you can fix this by making character X do more damage."  I mean, huh?

"Huh" indeed: I didn't say that. I said that when you have two similar characters, you're going to give advantage A to one character and advantage B to the other. That way, they don't feel like palette swaps, and when a player has a rough idea of the playstyle he wants, he can still make a meaningful choice between different variants of it. You yourself have said that BB has many characters that are similar to each other, but does that mean that they're exactly the same? Of course not. Ragna has ID, Bullet has 720, Bang has his nails, etc. None of these features are shared by other characters of their archetype, so they do get to be stronger in some aspects other characters don't.

This is all dumb regardless because we're all basically saying "Yes, Arc System Work BB team can't balance worth shit". The top tiers in this game are really top tier. The middle tiers in this game are super mediocre. The bottom tiers are garbage. That's what happens when instead of tweaking frame data and hitboxes for 4 years you instead make sweeping changes to move properties every version and add like 4 specials per character. It's not favoritism it's bad game design.

If anything is "Favoritism" it's that they accidentally gave characters like Litchi and Hazama every tool in the book, and god forbid they take anything away. It's impossible for those characters to be bad. It's not really "let's play favorites", it's "oops we made a character that has everything. Oh well"

Yet there are still games that have much, much worse balance, and that is exactly why people come back to ASW games. Because despite their flaws, they're still pretty damn good, especially for the crazy amount of different characters in the roster.
