Grim-reaper Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 Luckily gordeau's bnbs and overall playstyle are easy to execute because this game's execution barrier proved to be quite high. ( i'm looking at you seth and carmine ) Just noticed you only typed 236. It's actually the whole 236a you must do twice. Not only the 236 motion. Just to be clear.
Neanis Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 So I just realised that his auto combo (mash 5a) does 5a 5b 5c. However using that auto combo by doing 5a5a5c in a blockstring leaves you with the ability to reverse beat 5c into lets stay 2b or 6b. Just sharing in case anyone didnt know. Anyone else has some tips on pressure/mixup to share?

I figured that out in training.
Grim-reaper Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 Anyone else has some tips on pressure/mixup to share? I usually want to start with 5a>5b then i either : - 6b ( overhead ) into 22a - 2b ( low ) wich frametaps if they try to mash expecting the 6b overhead - delayed command grab. The first 2 options lead to a full combo. 3rd option needs chain shift to cancel. Pretty basic yet effective stuff. Oh, and 5C>reverse beat 5a / 5C>236a 236a for safe pressure from midrange wich can lead to potential combo if 236a hits.

Grim-reaper Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 6b (overhead) = j.6b ? No, just standing 6b. You still haven't tried the character do you ? :p
wenzel Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 No, just standing 6b. You still haven't tried the character do you ? :p like 2 hours with a friend, my copy doesn´t arrived yet, thanks btw.
Grim-reaper Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 like 2 hours with a friend, my copy doesn´t arrived yet, thanks btw. You're welcome. Still no one to answer me about ways to make the last hit of 22c whiff so you can continue the combo ?
Grim-reaper Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 Dash j6b seems effective. j6b ? does gordeau even have it ?
DarkRtBOne Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 Gordeau doesnt have a j.6b. The last hit of 22c connects if u hit the oppenent with grim reaper while he is airborne. Then u cancel into 22c and combo off of it.
Grim-reaper Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 The last hit of 22c connects if u hit the oppenent with grim reaper while he is airborne. Then u cancel into 22c and combo off of it. The last hit of 22c is supposed to whiff if you wana keep comboing after it hence why i asked for specific combo routes to get it to whiff. In case you didn't understand what i was asking about.
DarkRtBOne Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 Oh sry my bad. exchange the "connects" with "whiff" and it should be right.
Grim-reaper Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 Ok gonna try it again and see if it's universal. Thanks.
DarkRtBOne Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 No problem. Just set the dummy to jump and try it out. A little hint: U need to cancel immediately into 22c otherwise it wont work. And the cancel must be done after the second hit of grim reaper.
susano Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 Gordeau doesnt have a j.6b. The last hit of 22c connects if u hit the oppenent with grim reaper while he is airborne. Then u cancel into 22c and combo off of it. Oops, messed up there.

susano Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 Does Gordeau have any defensive options? How would you play neutral?
Grim-reaper Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Ex command grab has invincibility. Ex grim reaper too i guess. Neutral is mainly : st.C > reverse beat st.A st.C > 236a 236a Well spaced 3C into 22a > pressure This is the basic stuff.

Sorry about the questions.
Grim-reaper Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 St is stand? Just want to get better with this character. Sorry about the questions. Yup standing. And use the mixups i posted earlier when you're up-close.
susano Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Yup standing. And use the mixups i posted earlier when you're up-close. Okay.
Sojoro Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 So I finally got to try out the game today (still waiting on my copy), and this happened during one of the rounds versus a friend who played Yuzu: I'm spacing with Mortal Slide B vs Yuzu's stance slashes since it reaches longer than A version, but in this instance my friend decides to do ground teleport C which places Yuzu behind Gordeau and instead of MS B, I get a B Assimilation due to auto correction, which actually worked. Would this count as some sort of Option Select? I know it's 50/50 since if my friend did B version, I would've missed and gotten punished.
Grim-reaper Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 There are definitly ways to make it whiff midscreen. Gotta look, that's all. Thing is, you're not getting much after it. Only 236a x 3 or IW ( if you were already in veil off ) are worth it imo. Better keep the meter + cs for safe grimreapers or ex command grab followups.
