I should mention... I've played Ehrgeiz and I've played Japanese Dissidia...Cloud is MUCH more satisfying in Dissidia than he will ever be in Ehrgeiz...that goes for Sephiroth as well. Too much wrestling emphasis in Ehrgeiz. And you can't knock people into rocks either. :D Also, in Dissidia...nice little details like the numerous slash marks on the floor and ceiling of a an arena when Sephiroth takes a single swing... It's insanely fun to fight with him in Kefka's Magitech Facility. Pipes blow up, chambers shatter, and you can sometimes get caught in an explosion.

If this has a Strategy Guide, I might get it for Item Drop info, making weapons is not easy in this game.

Just some things I noticed from the demo; forgive me if any of these are already known: - EX Cores suck in all of the little EX energy balls and grow additional wings every time a set amount is absorbed. The amount of EX energy obtained from the EX Core has to do with how many wings the core had. - Dashes (R + ^) can be held to cover longer distances.

i've been playing the japanese version here and there. the little rail system reminds me of sonic adventure 2. combat is almost exactly like KH. i only really played with cecil and just rushed EX mode whenever possible. all in all a fun game, but need to get the english version.

Just a little info, Arcade Mode is setup with no stats so that theres balance and I guess VS Mode has that option as well. Arcade Mode has you fight 5 Characters and then Chaos I guess. Considering fights have no time limit, 5 seems about right. To compare, GG has 10 stages and duels per stage and time limit. You get items for winning that you can use in Destiny Odyssey or the Level Up portions of the game, which remain intact from JP version. Also you can play a short or longer version of Destiny Odyssey as you choose.

RPGamer doesn't do reviews until a game is released. Also, I now have been playing this longer than the JP version, and my head hurts as a result. :P 3 words: Piccolo is Garland.

Game comes out on Tuesday.

Illegal pirated version was released like 6 days ago.

Maybe according to Gamestop, the very last place you'd ever look for a release.

Picked this up at Wal-Mart last night because I forgot I had already got it on Amazon :gonk:. Anyways, it's very interesting; the customization adds a lot. Plus, there is nostalgia galore for FF fans.

Oh so it was you who did the previous editions.... Respect for you has now gone way up. Almost as much as the Immortal Emperor of Mankind...

Gotta stop playing this game like Guilty Gear. I keep bringing Anji-isms to the fight. Surprisingly, its been working. Apparently using Zidane's Tidal Flame as a "butterfly" and guessing opponent's reactions correctly works pretty damn well.

im currently just working on maxing out the chars i didnt max on JP version, so i can get a small idea of how they all play. im currently choosing between terra(tina?), zidane, or kuja. do u have friends who play? i only have 2 if not 1 person i play with, so i don't feel like im getting the grasp of fights.

Funny you say that, a few moves like Sephiroth's Scintilla and Firion's Shield Bash have autoguard properties, heck, Warrior of Light's EX has active auto spell guard and Garland gets super armor during active frames of his EX, also Jecht's Jecht Block can guard break and beat most HP attacks, except Cloud's Braver which hits twice.

Airdash moves deflect spells automatically.

I love how Squall's Rough Divide and Revolver Drive can punch through most BS.

Some questions guys. I've recently started to play this game. I think I like Garland, Gabranth, Squall, and Tidus so far. Still kinda new though. The thing to me is this. Is there a standard tournament rule set I can play this by? I don't wanna have really cheap equipment/accessories/summons/etc by accident. I wanna have a good, fair match. Also, is there much depth to this game? I know I'm still very new to it, but I don't really see where the skill comes in. I'd really like to know if there is a reason for me to keep playing it.

I use Sephiroth like Hakumen. His attacks are usually quite slow and most of his style would be to look for an opening. Scintilla would be his Drive attack.

I don't believe there's an actual tournament set for Dissidia just yet. I'd think it would be No summons, no equipment, and select stages that don't mess up the camera. Abilities are fair game.

Based on what I know of Lobby, you can play two ways: No Level Settings (i.e. Base Stats), No Summons/Accessories/Equips and there are a preset number of abilities you have equipped, just like Arcade Mode. Stuff like Riposte or Snooze and Lose abilities are probably banned though.

some people have posted some rules to agree on on dissidiaforums.com although i cant find the thread at the moment... but as far as i can recall..as blade said its no summons accessories equips, but i dont think there are limitations as far as skills. i remember there being a big debate on riposte however, while as far as snoozenlose people just say "then attack" (ez modo for gabranth :v:) EX mode is ok, and Ex guard is ok, but no EX burst (pressing Square after landing an hp attack during exmodo), because its the "i win" button.
