some recent matches I had.

I gotten a bit better. I can land some ground combos okay, still working on landing air combos more accurately.

I seem to have a habit of doing empty hells fang when i'm on the other side of the screen because I'm not sure of how to approach safer, so I am trying to work on running-shield or air-dash->shield, but still not sure how to properly make use of it.

Possibly the best Ragna combo video I've seen thus far:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZup5KL7U7A&feature=sub

Shows some nasty things that can be done with Blood Kain. And LOL@Gauntlet Hades loop in BK on Tao.

Best part of the video was from 0:00 to 5:14. I loved it.

Yes, this is the best Ragna combo video I've seen so far also. There are other good ones out there but this one is just insane! I can't wait to try out some of these combos!! ... that is... if I can execute them... which I highly doubt. Anyway, it was very inspirational, props to the creator.

Longer blockstun, cruddy burst, risk running out then you can't airblock easily.

I think shit just got real up in here...

Also, on not using barrier guard over regular:

Most of the time you'll find you won't even need it. If you're smart, you can use all that barrier stored up to unleash a Instant Burst to put them in the corner and have your fun with them, assuming you know what the hell to do when you put them in this situation.

Also, Barrier sometimes pushes your opponent too far away to counterattack if they had you in a blockstring and you want to end it before it gets nasty, along with the fact that with a lower Barrier gauge, your start-up frames for Barrier Burst increase, and to extreme levels, it's easily avoided if your opponent isn't in RTSD mentality. (or so I'm led to believe)

Are the combos in the tetsu vid efficient or are simply there to show off you know this stuff?

All the Blood Kain combos seemed practical, but I rarely even use Blood Kain combos so I wouldn't know really. I don't think Blood Kain combos are practical almost at all anyway though.

as for non-BK combos, the only new ones worth doing are the combo at 0:53 (if they don't throw break ever) and 2:45.

Its 98% show off stuff.

The other 2% could be useful if you actually can execute it.

i see.

Didn't know barrier increases block stun.

So then when should I use barrier then? I know in the air to avoid the anti-air moves. But how about ground combo strings?

Better pushback and no guard libra damage.

Basically you gotta get used to the character and the player you're fighting against.

Combining it with instant block you can make people whiff attack strings and you can easily counter attack. But if someone knows you're going to barrier block, they're going to air dash or poke with quick attacks because they won't get pushed back and get inside on you. The extra block stun allows for people to chain into their overheads way more safely as long as the pushback doesn't affect them too bad.

@Raiden and Mayu: Bah screw it then. Reminds me of the #Reload days when I was trying to learn dustloop while relying on a retarded-for-show-only combo vid. lol nostalgia.

Ironically, a combo video called nostalgia was my favorite #reload video ever.

That was a pretty sweet video! Lots of cool things to try out~ Though the ending encapsulates the reason I hate Tager... D:

lol the pushback from the Tager corner combo was insane. Also I'd never thought of using sweep into 22C from D ID.

I've tried out a lot of these combos, and it's gotta be said, even a lot of the ones that look practical are pretty balls-hard to time. It allowed me to boost the strength of the max damage combo I had in the combo list though (8124 -> 8331) along with every other variant of the j.D loop, so that's a plus.
