Lord Knight Posted July 20, 2009 Author Posted July 20, 2009 I've been practicing the staff-standing combo recently as it is a 4k string that is meterless; I'm having some trouble with the get off staff-jump B, jump C timing window, I can get to the first hit on staff but can't drop then jump cancel in time. Someone want to tell me how it's being executed? Video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9BvLaLmpSOY#watch-main-area 7:35. ~Chun There is an easier variation of this that does similar damage. In midscreen Riichi combos, you have to make sure that everything after riichiA is as fast as possible. Drop > j7BC is awkward though, but you can do machi > drop JC > dash 5C > whatever followup depending where you are on screen.
Spud Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 ^ Maybe I'm just having a brainfart, but what is machi?
individuals Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 ^ Maybe I'm just having a brainfart, but what is machi? i really wanna learn this combo lol.
individuals Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 so im guessing B or C while standing on manten doesnt have as much uses? except i think C has a wee bit more range?
Koozebanian Fazoob Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 You use certain ones for certain combos. It's mostly just that you want to use the slowest one you can hit with because they have more untechable time, do more damage, and I guess prorate teching slower. For example VS Jin I'd do a combo like: 6A[e] 5C 236A 236B 63214A, A, B, C 2 |> j.C 9 [D] ]D[ j.C |> 6C 623D 6C 3C
G4ymBoy Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 5B 5C(2) itsuuC chun/tk chun/j chun 2C JBC D airdash JC staff2 6C tsubame 6C~ I am having troubling pulling this combo off. i cannot seem to get the 2C to combo into the JBC without the opponent recovering before 2C, and if the 2C does hit they recover before the JBC hits. any suggestions?
STenSatsu Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Faster. =P Really though, I've found you have to do the 2c, JBC pretty quick if you want to land it. For 2c not hitting, you may be doing it too slow or jumping too high for chun.
Spud Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 5B 5C(2) itsuuC chun/tk chun/j chun 2C JBC D airdash JC staff2 6C tsubame 6C~ I am having troubling pulling this combo off. i cannot seem to get the 2C to combo into the JBC without the opponent recovering before 2C, and if the 2C does hit they recover before the JBC hits. any suggestions? I believe it has to do with the spacing, however I know nothing about nothing. Only let 5C hit once. And for me, it's easiest to just do j.chun every time.

Spud Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Try doing the chun RIGHT after leaving the ground. EDIT: Oh and space the 5B so that only the staff hits them.
WayINside Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 yay, i can comment again here :D anyway your problem is with the j.chun, you have to do it quite fast in order to connect with 2C afterward. try to do j (arrm if you are quite close go for 7 or 8) and then when you see she already jumped, input chun as fast as you can. i know that doing combos by vision is pretty sucks, but you will get the timing over time
Spud Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 Well, when you do this Kukoushi Musou Barrier Burst tactic I keep hearing about, do you activate the super while they're flying away from the shockwave? (or whatever it is)
individuals Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 Well, when you do this Kukoushi Musou Barrier Burst tactic I keep hearing about, do you activate the super while they're flying away from the shockwave? (or whatever it is) that would be best, HOWEVER, if they somehow READ your tactic or just get lazy and dont tech, your first part of KM will whiff, as KM doesnt hit on the ground until its spinning part. try to activate it right when your opponent flashes for tech. if opponent is set to land to the left of the staff, i do it early even if first few hits will whiff because if they tech left, they would escape.
SilverDrgn85 Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 Hey guys, I'm just starting to learn Litchi. I'm seeing a lot of combos in the first posts, but I'm not sure where to start. Which combos would be good to start with, both in terms of the ones that come up in a match most frequently and the ones that wil give me a good idea of how she works? I'm not seeing any listed as BnBs. ITSUU COMBOS AND THROW COMBOS 5B 5C(2) itsuuC chun/tk chun/j chun 2C JBC D airdash JC staff2 6C tsubame 6C~ Midscreen fullscreen combo. This is what you want to confirm into as much as possible. Let 5C hit once or twice depending on spacing. I figured this one would be a good one to start with, but I can't get Tsubame to connect with the last hit. "Midscreen fullscreen" inplies that this should work anywhere as long as I don't run into the corner (I'm noticing staff2 6C[/m] becomes 6C[m] in that case) but I can't get the full combo unless I end it close enough to the corner for Tsubame. There seems to be a spacing where Tsubame will connect with the last hit, but I can't figure out what in the combo leading up to it adjusts that spacing. As for 5C, it's unclear if the spacing is referring to how far Litchi is from the opponent, or how far she is from the corner.
Cornix Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 5B 5C(2) 3C [D] ]D[ iad JC haku staff2 dash JBC land tsubame 6C~ This one is probably the easier of the two midscreen BnB's I'd start there and learn the itsuuC one when you get more comfortable with the spacing from opponent and spacing from corner stuff. You'll see it, it's hard to describe exactly what and where, but it's both how far the opponent is and how far she is from the corner.
G4ymBoy Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 5B 5C(2) itsuuC chun/tk chun/j chun 2C JBC D airdash JC staff2 6C tsubame 6C~ this is where everyone techs out. can i make the training dummy tech as soon as possible for training?
Lord Knight Posted July 26, 2009 Author Posted July 26, 2009 When you do land after jChun, hold 2C. It'll come out 100%.
G4ymBoy Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 When you do land after jChun, hold 2C. It'll come out 100%. i dont think my jChun is coming out fast enough for the 2C to combo but i will work on it. btw i took the last 1/4 of some Ragna's life bar with Riichi chops tonight, he messaged saying he has never even seen the move before. i guess not many people are using Riichi.

STenSatsu Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 5B 5C(2) itsuuC chun/tk chun/j chun 2C JBC D airdash JC staff2 6C tsubame 6C~ this is where everyone techs out. can i make the training dummy tech as soon as possible for training? Setting the tech to eutral, forward, or backward should make him always tech out. Can also just see if the combo goes black. For silvr: You might have to walk forward slightly for the 6c or even add a small dash first. It's kind of weird and not really explainable.
Cornix Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 I used to get similar messages when I used RiichiC a lot. I got a message from a nu player accusing me of cheating when I riichi movement'd through a gravity pit.... I haven't gotten any messages for using the kicks, most people I play seem to know what's up and inferno divider me or haku-men j.C.

Same here but when i do pull it off they for some reason get mesmerized and i guess forget to tech out.
