I noticed Ein's JP Wiki page doesn't have any high-damage combos with damage assists, so I made some up using the Dragon (giant laser) and Angela (mech lasers) assists. I haven't done much testing with her throw combos yet, so they're missing from this list.

Note: Angela deals random damage. To guarantee it hits and to maximize damage, you want to use Angela only when the opponent is in, near, or flying towards the corner.

Note: these damage #s are vs Ein. It seems that Al takes ~700 more damage from these combos than Ein, even though her hurtbox is slightly smaller. I'm working on a Google Doc for these combos: it'll have revised damage #s vs Al.

Ok. Couple questions concerning this game.

1) Is there an option to change the screen size like in the BlazBlue games? It seems that when I play NPB, the screen has black borders and the only way I can fix it if I set my TV to Full Scan where default is Normal/Standard which displays the normal 16.9 scale. If I set to full scan, then my other menus in my PS4 are all zoomed in. Is this normal on this game for black borders or am I missing something?

2) For the HK version of the game, the DLC characters will be available free on December 17th? I read someone in the forum stated that so wanted to make sure.

3) Is there no music select on the game? It seems you can only select the stage but the music that plays is always the 2nd player's. Guessing that's intentional? Kinda blows imo.

Overall this game impressed me. This is by far one of the deepest and most complicated fighting games I've ever played. Usually I pick these games up super fast but I'm sitting here having to play for days and I'm barely getting the basics down. I'm very pleased with this game.

System Options > 2nd option lets you change the display size along with the positions of the health bars and meters but that should have been set at 100 (Full) by default.  What other settings are available for your TV?   I only have the PS3 version of the game at the moment but it scales fine as far as I can tell.

Just wanted to say that if you're on the PS4 version, I've created a community for those whom might be interested there. Just look up "Nitro+ Blasterz Western Community".

With that, I need to get back to work on the section on my forums. By the way, Ouka-chan is hella fun.

some more Heart information

- j4B whiffs against crouching Mora (haven't tested against other characters yet), so even if you can start combos with 2D jB j4B on a standing character, the j4B would (probably) whiff on a crouching one
- jC and jE combo more easily from 2D than jB
- Heart's Lethal Blaze's 3rd level (the screen zooms in slightly with each level of rotation, during the startup of her LB) doesn't whiff against crouching Mora
- it seems hard to me to find meterless combos from max range 2A (and moves that reach farther than it)
- it's possible to link jB into 2C but it's timing is difficult
- it's also possible to link jump-ins into 2a 6a, but (like 2C) the opponent has to be close enough
- homing jE (and sometimes jC) require some distance as Heart might reach the ground during their startup
- it's harder to land jump-ins through airdashes in NPB than it is for her in AH3
- apparently, her homing's availability is based on her height, and since there's not much difference between the startups of jumps against high jumps, it seems preferrable to use high jumps if you're trying to use homing after a jump cancel (and from there, use either jA or jB)
- 421C can cross crouching Mora (would like to test it against a knocked down one, because the 421x moves have a noticeable recovery, which wouldn't be much of an issue on oki or with enough frame advantage)
- tk 214C can cross opponents, however its practicality (like crossup 421C) haven't been tested; apparently has less recovery than 421C
- 5C has slightly less range than f5B (against Mora, this can be tested by restarting the training stage -- press Select --, doing 2C 2C 2C, then 5C 5C 5C 5C 5C; from there, one f5B or two 5Cs will hit Mora)
- 2A (starter) will always combo into 5C, even at max range
- f5B prorates the combo differently from 5B (the more preferrable attack), similarly to 2B
- some combos might whiff with the opponent on the corner, especially air DPs, air DP supers, and j214AB, because Heart is pushed further away from the opponent
- combos that follow from 236AB's wallbounce depend on how close/far away Heart is from the opposite corner
- I need to replace some combos that start from 2D jB j4B with ones that don't use j4B; I haven't realized that j4B whiffs against crouching Mora by the time I did them
- combos that end in Variable Rush (A) are better suited for long combos, damage-wise (at least better than Variable Rush (B) or (C) are)

edit:
- seems like it's easier to manually do 8214C than actually trying to tk the j214C

I have to check this again. I swear I checked that and it seems all you can do is change the UI positions but not the display size. Is there a specific button you need to press to change the display size? Can't read Japanese so just wondering if maybe I'm overlooking something.

Marvelous Europe announced that they will publish the PS3 (via PSN) and PS4 digitally and physically in Europe and Australia. It will be available in both regions in early Q1 2016:

Homura and Heart will also be available for free in the first month.

Does anybody know how to do a 5-gauge combo? It's the only trophy that I'm not able to figure out. Judging by how easy the rest were, there's something obvious that I'm missing because it doesn't seem possible.

Well, at the very least, Aoi seems obligatory for her free gauge. The fifth one can probably be gained over the course of the combo, especially if you use Infinite Blast. So I suppose it's something like Variable Rush > Aoi > IB > filler > Lethal Blaze.

Checked the system options and there is no settings to change the aspect ratio of the entire screen to not show the black borders. You can only change the UI positioning. Unless I'm reading something wrong, dunno how to change it. No one else seems to be having this problem. My TV is a 2014 model Westinghouse 1080P HDTV. Should be up to date.

That was my guess too, but I can't figure out how to combo after variable rush. It seemed like everyone I tried either ended with popping them up into the air, or throwing them across the screen. Either way, I couldn't get much of a followup.

Also, all my win and loss records were wiped again. I like that I get to keep my grade and LP, but everything else is gone. Doesn't seem like this is happening to anyone else judging by the records page. Just a bit frustrating. Makes me look suspicious too, being grade A with like 9 matches.

That's the menu- on the JP version at least, there are three options on that screen.  You are using the PS4 version?  Maybe only the PS3 version has the scaling option...

On an unrelated note- has anyone seen interesting uses for Ignis' C (dummy) grenade?  I figure it's maybe intended as a mixup tool leading to her command grab but I'm having a hard time coming up with a setup for it that can't just be done with the normal grenades as well.

Its good mind fu## tool if condition your opponent. Outside that i use it to meter build. I be been having hard time finding use for her 236a+b. Follow ups from [4]6x>6x with that super dont seem all that hot when 646x gives knockdown. It an ok air whiff punish i guess.

You gotta be shitting me. Only the PS3 has that scaling option? That's pretty stupid. Not sure if that's a huge oversight on Examu's part.

I'm gonna test all this stuff out and then add it into the wiki. 2A into 6A would be tricky to hit confirm onto. I would have to see if it's special cancelable on block. Even then it would whiff on crouch opponents probably. Definitely not a bad route off a jump in though

Ah, sorry about that, I'm about to knock out on the keyboard so please excuse me on that. Thanks for telling me though. I seriously need to find some casual matches online because it's like no one is never on (except for the JP players).

Okay, off to bed with me.

Oh wow, 5-gauge combo was deceptively simple with Ouka. Should've tried this first, but I didn't think it would hold for long enough so I wasted like 45 minutes trying other stuff.

Infinite Blast > Variable Rush (all B) > j.A > j.B > j.C > 623B > (cancel) Another Blood > Aoi > 236236BC

VR puts you in hover mode, but I don't think there's a notation for that. It's pretty self evident.

Also, on a somewhat random note. That Japanese site doesn't mention you can do normal throw > 360 with Ouka. Pretty good to know, decent damage for being super simple even in lag. Thanks, guy in ranked who showed me that.

Also, This is just wrong:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9JPRymtbsi0

Just so people know, you can escape this setup -- and most Ein level 3 setups like this -- by shielding the laser beam (if necessary) and then rolling when Ein tries to snipe you. The snipe is a projectile so it can't hit you while you're rolling.

Note that you cannot shield Ein's level 3: you must roll it!

Both ground and air rolls (5D/JD) are completely projectile invincible until you can block again. You can test this by shielding during a long assist and rolling: you'll be able to block again even in the middle of the bugs / lasers. An exception to this is the zombies: they're not projectiles so they'll hit you out of your roll.

I did some testing just now and Ein may in fact have a legit level 3 setup with the zombies. If you get stuck in the zombies, you can't just shield because her level 3 will hit you even while you're shielding zombies, and you can't roll because you'll get hit and her level 3 can hit you while the zombies are trampling you. Your escape options are basically:

a) Shield, then use a move (e.g. your own C+E or level 3?) with enough invincibility to escape.

b) Intentionally roll into the zombies, get hit, and hope that Ein misses her shot.

Best thing to do is to avoid getting stuck on the ground in the zombies at all costs. If you fall on them and shield, at least you can probably air roll safely.

Found out the problem. Apparently (this is how little I play my PS4), there is a setting on the PS4 itself to change the window settings for any applications. Nitroplus Blasterz runs as an application so it is affected by this setting. Funny how GGXrd was never an issue with this. Just a note for anyone playing on PS4 if you are getting black borders.
