P4A's Japanese console release details!

By Guest, in Home,

Courtesy of MayonakaMidnight.com: Famitsu has revealed that the Japanese console release for Persona 4: Arena is set for August 2nd. Reserving the game gets you an OST CD as a freebie as well. What this might mean for us in North America is that if the placeholder date of August 7th that Amazon and GameStop have is even close to being accurate, we won't have to wait too long after the game is on consoles in Japan.
[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]
Also, some details about the story made their way on the internet. Similar to Blazblue: Continuum Shift, you can only access 4 cast's stories at first, unlocking more as you play. If the magazine leaks are true, Atlus has created a lot of content for the story mode of Persona 4: Arena.

And as a side note, just a reminder that Shadow Labrys will be in arcades tomorrow! Get ready for non-stop TV punching action.

From the official Japanese P4A site, and put on Youtube courtesy of our friends at MayonakaMidnight, we have footage of non-boss Shadow Labrys in action. These 2 video samples give a small preview of what she can do:

In addition, Atlus has changed the theme music that was playing on the P4A site. It takes the original theme song and adds lyrics to it.

Skullgirls Official Date & Details!

By Guest, in Home,

It's been a long time coming, but Reverge Lab's variable, nostalgic, dark deco, and sometimes even headless 2D fighter Skullgirls is nearly upon us. On April 10 North American Playstation Network users can look forward to downloading the game for $14.99 (no other regions have been set yet, but the team is working to get it out A.S.A.P!). The following day on April 11 Xbox Live users worldwide can snag the snazzy fighter for the penance of 1200 Microsoft points.

But what if you're [sTILL] on the fence? No worries as there will be a demo version that gives you a little taste of everything. More after the jump.
[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]
The trial version gives you access to two characters (Filia and Cerebella--10 more years!), a shortened Arcade experience (pitting you against 3 computer opponents), support for local Versus play (obviously limited to teams of up to 2), four tutorials and access to the Practice room! Demos for fighters don't happen often, but even still this is probably the best there is, so no reason to not give it a shot!

Also you might want to pick up the game QUICK as the tournament season for Skullgirls is already underway! Offering highly stylish and uniquely beautiful custom arcade sticks as grand final prizes! The schedule (so far) is as follows:

Texas Showdown Championships : Houston – April 6-8
PowerUp : Cincinnati – April 13-15
Stunfest : Rennes, France – April 13-15
ESC – The Elite Series at Wizard World Toronto Comicon : Toronto – April 14-15

Lastly will close out with the final launch character trailer for the ever shifting Double, truly an angel without a sense of mercy:
