Guilty Gear AC Basic Mechanics Video

By Guest, in Home,

The guys over at HitConfirm.com have created a video demonstrating all the various mechanics in GGAC. I think it's a pretty well made video so if you were interested in learning about the many subsystems in GG, here's a great place to start.

Dustloop has started a wiki!

By Guest, in Home,

Yes, that's right, we've got a wiki now. Over the winter break, the staff have started working on a wiki in secret. While it's still a long way away from completion, I figured it was worth showing everyone that we've been hard at work. If you'd like to help out, please talk to your mod and convince them to have me make you an account. Also it wouldn't hurt to nudge your mod to push them to finish their respective sections

please provide your desired username and email.

BBCS:EX - Valkenhayn Combos by MrMiddleKick

By Guest, in Home,

The first Valkenhayn R. Hellsing combo video for BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend has been posted by MrMiddleKick, showcasing some new combo routes, including [w]7D~D > j.C -> 2A and 3C > 236A > (corner follow up) combo routes. Enjoy this 11 minute treat.

Already argueably one of the best characters in CS2, Valkenhayn appears even more scary in Extend. Here's what MrMiddleKick had to say:

"As always, went into training mode, spent a few hours capturing stuff, and here's the result. Most of it is just trying to emulate stuff that Hima or Masashi have been doing, and trying to add a few variations of those combos. Probably missing some of the new stuff but i'm guessing this would be the base of Valk's new combo mechanics."

GET EXPOSED is Dustloop community project designed to introduce the internet to Blazblue communities from all over the world. If you and your community are interested in participating, please check out the thread here.

This week we bring you an interview from Milan, Italy.

sakabato24 interviews players _Sey, Jill, Fenrir Werwolf, and BK Dennis from Milan at the AEX Cooperation Tournament to give us a peek at the local community.

sakabato24: How did you guys start your Blazblue community?

_Sey: We started with Continuum Shift since we didn't really have an "anime" scene in Italy. So once CS dropped we started to play and that's it!

sakabato24: Who organizes all the Blazblue stuff?

_Sey: Our organizer used to be Ronove, also a frequent poster on Dustloop. He has been pretty busy lately, so we pretty much started organizing stuff ourselves.

sakabato24: When do you guys meet up?

_Sey: We haven't been really consistent with our meetings lately, but we usually meet up on Saturday and/or Sunday. On Saturday we usually have ranbats while on Sunday it's mostly casual play.

sakabato24: I know some of you guys are from Milan. But are any of you guys far from Milan?

_Sey: I'm not from Milan and it takes me about 40mins~1hr by train to get to meetings.

BK Dennis: I am not from Milan. I live about 40 mins. away.

Jill: Very near Milan.

sakabato24: Who do you think the best player is in here?

_Sey: Not sure... But to be honest... Well...me and my team mate (RushingMonkey) won this tournament, so~ Last month's tournament in Rome was won by Rael (#1) and BK Dennis (#2).

sakabato24: I know you play Hazama, so...

_Sey: And my teammate plays Makoto so~

sakabato24: And, he's not here.

_Sey: No bene!

sakabato24: No bene!

Jill: He's not here at the moment, but he won all the ranbats here.

sakabato24: Guys have anything to say before we end this?

BK Dennis: Hi Axis! <3

_Sey: If there's any Italian who has not joined us yet, please DO join us on arcade-extreme.com!

Jill: I want to tell Fenrir that we are not organizing a Guilty Gear tournament any time soon...

Fenrir Werwolf: No Guilty Gear?

Jill: Especially not Guilty Gear soon.

Fenrir Werwolf: Guilty Gear is better. Play Guilty Gear! More fun!

[END]

Thanks again to sakabato24 and the Italy scene for the great interview! Be sure to support them and look out for future events.

Dustloop Tsubaki Yayoi Combo Videos

By Guest, in Home,

Recently, Dustloop members Daedron and BatousaiJ have each made a combo video for Tsubaki Yayoi! These videos show the new combos that Tsubaki can do in Extend as well as more ideas for the usage of Tsubaki's second distortion 214214D "Maecto Maledictus," usually called "Tsubaki Mugen" by the players here on Dustloop. Since mugen appears to be more practical in Extend, especially since it can now be done in the air, you can probably expect more Tsubaki players to be trying to use it in a match to win... with style.

Blazblue CS EXTEND - Tsubaki Combo Video - Install of Darkness by Daedron

“-I lied on dustloop when I said I wouldn't do combo videos for Extend...muhaha.

-The game has only been in my hands for a day and already am I making a combo video? Well sure, why not...of course I'll have a better grasp of what Extend tsubaki's capabilities are if I wait a few more weeks, but I think these combos already show off some pretty decent stuff.

-Of course, most of these should probably not be used in a real match, though most of the mugen ones can potentially be used, considering how powerful it is now.

-Also, sorry about the..lack of editing, I don't really have much time to spruce it up (not like I did much editing before, but I did at least something). I'll be pretty busy the upcoming weeks so yeah, I wanted to get this out of the door ASAP.

BBCS Extend: Tsubaki Yayoi - Open Your Eyes - by BatousaiJ
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yxbu1vU9BGg

”"Here's my first BBCSEX video showcasing Tsubaki in her Extend iteration.

This video covers the bases from simple and practical to silly and ludicrous so I hope there will be something here everyone will be able to enjoy.

A few days before x-mas and this is my gift to all the Tsubaki mainers out there in doubt and despair after the nerfs she received. Open your eyes and judge for yourself if she truly seems hopeless.

If you wish to contact me, find me at my youtube channel or at Dustloop.

Song: Sky-clad Observer -Remix-

Special thanks to pktazn for being her usual lovely self and hosting my videos and to Lunar/Solar for letting me use their recolored vector of Tsubaki.

Thanks for watching!"

Socal Regional '11 Results: Top 8 - Skullgirls

By Guest, in Home,

SoCal Regionals still rages on, with impressive matches and performances from numerous attendees, and this year the still in development fighter from Reverge Labs made it's debut in the tournament circuit. Skullgirls was featured as an event within the competition, with the game's publisher Autumn Games providing $1000 for the pot.

With an impressive 85 person sign-up, the dust has settled and the top 8 players have been named, and as a special bonus Lead Designer Mike "Z" Zaimont even squared off in an exhibition match with the Grand Champion. So hit the jump for results and video archives.
[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]
First the video archives! Only top 8 was recorded on stream, and it was broken up into 2 parts;

[Part ONE] (starting at around 1:32:00)
[Part TWO]

And now the tournament results, as stated earlier there were 85 entrants, for a full rundown of the entire bracket check out the SoCal Regionals official website. The top 8 are as follows:

Grand Champion - Shin (Filia/Cerebella)

Semi-Finalist - Copperdabbit (Ms. Fortune/Cerebella/Peacock)

3rd - ODD03 (Ms. Fortune)

4th - Balonga OS (Parasoul)

5th - At my Limit (Filia/Ms. Fortune), Dantarion (Filia/Cerebella)

7th - OFC Kingsley (Peacock), Koyunou (Peacock)

Hopefully this is but the first of many tournament appearances by Skullgirls as we approach the new year and the final release build. Congratulations to all who competed, we hope to see you again. And a special thank you to all Reverge Labs staff for working hard on the next big thing.

Blazblue X GODSGARDEN Announced

By Guest, in Home,

On the road to Blazblue Revolution, the producers of the God's Garden bring you God's Garden 5 - BLAZBLUE X GODSGAREN!

Date: January 28th, 2012
Time: 4PM JST - 5AM JST
Location: Akiba 85
Stream: ja.twitch.tv/godsgarden

Participation in the event, like previous GODS events are invite only. A spectator fee will be announced soon for anyone who would like to attend.

What is GODSGARDEN?

GODSGARDEN started as an invite only, online tournament featuring 8 players hand picked by Daigo. Instead of the standard single elimination, best of one format, this event used a special ruleset:

1. Players may use only one character the entire tournament
2. 99 second rounds
3. Best of 3 rounds
4. First to 10 games wins

Although current events don't use this ruleset, and are not online, it is still an invite-only tournament, so expect high level matches from Japan's top players!

More news will be posted as it develops!

A Quick Glimpse at Valentine (Now in Motion!)

By Guest, in Home,

Today G4's X-Play hosted a small segment for Skullgirls which was mostly a general preview/interview with Lead Designer Mike "Z" Zaimont, but you won't have to look hard to catch the first glimpses of the recently announced surgical vixen Valentine in motion!
[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]
She comes equip with an array of multi-hitting attacks, air dashes, and incorporates body bags as well as corpses into her repertoire (but it seems we'll have to wait a bit long to find out just what tricks she has planned for these tools). As always the team is working their hardest to make sure the game is well tuned and polished, but they hope to have her in playable form in time for SoCal Regional '11, even so expect a in-depth preview on Gametrailers in the near future.

Skullgirls is set to release on the Playstation Network and Xbox Live Arcade "early 2012" for you information and discussion you can check out the ever expanding Skullgirls section here on Dustloop and the soon to be booming Valentine character thread.
