  1. Ugh, that video made me want to kick a dog. What a painful mess. bleh. Sol's such a dickhead =p 'gorilla' really puts it lightly. You have to respect everything he does while he facerolls and he doesn't have to give two shits about anything you're doing... ever... xD Also gotta love the hitbox on that j.D scamble into 30%(?) damage! I thought nothing would annoy me more than the brief moment when you think you got over Elph's c.S only to get hit behind her body by the STILL active frames (cross-over FDC? LOL! Nope!), but getting hit by that j.D definitely would have pissed me off. #wutnormals Mocchi is such a bum =p Real talk though, OSCA and Otouto been going in hard lately. OSCA with that precision spacing sometimes, too sexy. I wish I could have that kind of presence of mind.
  2. Damn arcade updates, gotta wait so long to start having fun with Slayer again. He's still going to struggle, but at least when it's your turn it's going to be soooooo satisfying.
  3. Wow, that's really light. How big was Skullgirls and AH? =O
  4. Yeah, you can walk into any arcade and find decent people to play USF4 with, I was only commenting on the anime side of things. And yeah, fuckin' Gundam. Those guys need to get jobs. You can walk into an arcade at 10am and there will be a dozen people playing fuckin' Gundam. Wish I was into it. I did see a surprising amount of Chaos Code but I completely forgot AH existed. I don't think I saw it played anywhere... not once. Of course all of this irrelevant to the non-Japan scene. It's good to see interest in UNIEL, it's definitely a fun game if you don't mind trying something new. To be honest, I'm bored out of my skull with BB and once they announce another update/patch I lose all interest in the game until that shit drops, so UNIEL is coming at a great time if you ask me. Really hope the game is only 4~6gb. Especially if it releases after I go to work and I have to waste my free time downloading it when I get home. ><
  5. lol? If I wanted to grind out on Xrd I had to go to Mikado for any kind of reliable action. I was pretty hungry for it but most arcades were dead for Xrd. If I was lucky there might be 1 or 2 nonames playing. Totally killed my enthusiasm. Just saying, I wanted to put 3 months into Xrd but instead ended up grinding P4 again. Dengeki had a solid line up of people playing no matter where I seemed to go though. Sorry?
  6. From my experience it was more like 1&2) BBCP / P4 3) Dengeki Bunko 4) Xrd 5) UNIEL Most arcades were pretty booked for BBCP and P4U, hardly anyone was playing UNIEL or Xrd outside of specific arcades. I think the only place I really saw a decent crowd of players was at Leisure Land arcade. Dengeki definitely gets attention though. I don't know if it's just a casual thing but I always saw tons of people playing. Here's to hoping they update PSN a lot earlier than when BB dropped. I hate waiting on release day for a random time, the shit should be like clockwork.
  7. 6C nerf wasn't necessary, I guess we'll wait to see just how much worse it is now. As long as they didn't destroy it's vertical hitbox I'll be meh, but if 5[C] 6C no longer works on an elevated opponent I'll be kinda peeved. It just seems really nitpicky by the team imo. The system change 'Jump attacks have generally increased P1' bugs me too. Tao gets a lot of mileage off of j.B and j.C confirms, I really hope its not increased enough to ruin any of her routes. Generally not happy with how this update looks. All they needed to fix was Kokonoe, and maybe Valkenhayn "it's always my turn" Hellsing. Some of the buffs to already solid characters is annoying. Fuck you Mu.
  8. Yeah, the punish I had was 2C > 5[C] > 6C > 214D > j.5D~B > 5C > j.5D~B > j.5D~C > j.2D~A > 5[C] > 6C > 4D~B > 6C > 236AA > 5D~A > 6C > 236CB (4722) and I believe there is a variation with SMP 236CB that hits 4900ish. Although you're better off ending with the 4700 route. For Rachel, you can just do 214D > j.C > 236B > 2D~B > 5[C] > 236A > 5D~A > 6C > 236CB (3114) but be warned, connecting the 236A 5D~A part means letting her fall as low as possible when the 5[C] connects. It's not really worth going for in a match so I think omitting the 236A is like 3098 or something. Honestly, I don't play any Rachel's, and have been neglecting labing anything on her so I just stick with the basics. As for CT combos, there are so many variations that I've lost track of what's optimal anymore. The one I usually go for if I get FC is 2[C] > 6[C] > 6C > CT > 2[C] > 6C > 4D~B > 6C > 236CC > 2D~C > 8D > 5D > 236Bx5. (6453) and 2[C] > 6[C] > CT > 2[C] > 236CC > j.5D~B > j.5D~C > j.2D~A > 6C > 4D~B > 6C > 236AAA > 5D~A (5641). Sorry I don't have a list up yet. Had a real shitty weekend, and when I got around to making the list I figured I might as well ask here what ALL the character specific are that people are unclear on, and then I'll run them on the cast and get this spreadsheet popping. @Zekira Yeah, as long as it didn't use OD I was just curious what the max damage people were getting off of 5B+C. I believe all throws are weak starter so you won't see any character break 4k without DD/OD. I think Tao can do 3600 totally resourceless. Maybe 3800 with character specific stuff. I've only just begin playing around with it.
  9. By punish do you mean non fatal and meterless? I think there's a route that does just a little shy of 5k meterless into grounded finish, and she definitely breaks well over 5k if you go j.236Bx5 route. I've got tomorrow off, so I'll use some time to make that character specific list. @Zekira As for the throw almost doing 50% on 11k. It's actually not very close at all. I was trying to kill Tao & Carl at first, and then slowly was working my way up, but it's actually a pretty big difference once you get to 11k. 5200 off corner throw without OD is as good as I think I got. Also, fuck Jin. 11,500... why? Cause fuck it? Purple throw this scrub!
  10. What's the max damage you can get off corner 5B+C without OD? I'm trying to kill from 50% but can't seem to squeeze out that last little pixel on an 11K health bar.
  11. Is there a post/thread for unlocking all the extras? I don't mean trophies, but what specifically unlocks D-code stuff, Gallery locked stuff (secret voice, loketest voice etc.)?
  12. Mu is lots of fun (and Noel) but even their optimal shit is pretty easy. To be fair I guess, there's not a whole lot that is difficult about BBCP combos. If we are going to talk about faceroll nonsense; fuck characters that get combos/oki off of DP. More so if they don't even have to RC. That's always bugged me.
  13. Still fighting that CS2 voice though... ugh. Being deaf is a prerequisite for Noel players. That or playing on mute all the time. Jokes aside, her drive moves aren't that annoying, but her braindead damage kinda bugs me. On topic, is it the cool thing now for asswipe 0's to come sit on your station when you've got a win streak going and say 'AFK' when you ask them to pls leave/no thx? I guess Arksys never though they would need to add a kick option for winner's side, but they forgot this game was coming stateside. =( I just leave, but it bugs me that you gotta let trolls have their way.
  14. While there is a lot of whining going on, I think for the most part people want to know what they are going to be doing with their time. It's also not exactly blown out of proportion, as she is legit OD in a big way. We can start grinding on the important stuff once we know if she's in or out, since she'll basically be the character to beat at any tourney. As for the Injustice finals, that was great for a mainly US game, but with BB the JP need to brought into consideration as well. Not in favor of a ban, but an EVO top 8 with like 6 Kokonoe in it will be some truly lame shit. =/
  15. The gap is nowhere near so far apart that you should jump to the conclusion of this being a 7 character game. The only problem is the noteable gap between Kokonoe and the very top tier.
  16. Agree with this 100%. This is not one of those 'git good' situations. It's one of those 'she beats you at almost every level of the game'. I'm never on board with a ban, but regardless of how much time and effort you put into this match you're not learning how to overcome it, you're just learning how to not look as free. We are only 3 months into having Kokonoe. Evo is still another 6 months away. I'm willing to bet Kokonoe players widen the gap faster than others can close it in that time. Again. Not in favor of a ban, but with a shit-ton of high level Kokonoe's looking to show up to EVO, it's looking pretty grim, and a little bit lame. Hopefully some magical Kokonoe exploit will come out of nowhere and everyone can chill. It's not likely though.
  17. Thank you. Wow thanks! I totally forgot about this at the time of posting!... How pathetic do you have to be to go to this video as support? P4U EVO? Seriously? Quick somebody bring me Muhammad Ali so I can beat him now and become the champion. Would you mind posting another anime 5v5? Or is this as good as it gets for America? lol. (I was super hype watching this at the time, so fuck you for posting it as a poor example, asshat.) And feel free to actually post a response to something Errol. You tried using your JP cred and said nothing of note, or responded to anything i've pointed out. I guess you would rather cop out now though, so that means i'm done too. Enjoy your American BB. Oh, and at no point did I say US players weren't good. You're like talking to a retarded patriot. 'You dun love everything about Amer'ka? Fuckin' commie!' Apparently discussions are too personal for you. =/
  18. I don't think anybody has mentioned a god gene yet. The arcade aspect is also a small piece of the puzzle, and while that would be an awesome bonus for everywhere else to enjoy it's not critical to making better players. Saying that we are fundamentally playing the same game is a literal statement, nothing more. Yes, I own a copy of BBCP and so does Souji, awesome. Justin, Valle, Watson and plenty of others played 3s, CVS2, ST, A3, etc. and were considered the best in the country at the peak of their game. Fundamentally they were playing the same game. Hurrah.
  19. Meh, it's just the ways things are. Trying to say NA hold their own/not that far away from JP level is just lame. Which games did we ever give them a real run for their money in again? How many players went 0-2 (0-1 lol SBO) when they went over there? Are any players over there right now NOT still going 0-2? It is what it is. Play SF4 if you wanna be on par. They fly top players out to like 90% of the majors and it only took 2~3 years to catch up in that game. =p Read above. Getting good over here = good over there? lol as has usually been the case XD? Where do you pull this shit from? Who is good here that's done anything of note there? I'm honestly curious. Is Xie owning it up?
  20. Oh believe me, that shit is netplay only. I just figured for completion sake I'd like to find something decent off of it. =/
  21. Let's make it really simple then. Everywhere has local heroes. Everywhere outside of Japan has terrible conditions for making those good players better. Choose whatever measuring stick you like, then apply it to our best, and their best. Their is a clear difference. As has been said many times before, tournaments are not good measuring sticks. Team games, or gauntlets are a much better indicator, particularly the gauntlet if you wanted to measure individual skill. All anime power up fantasies aside, Japan would have a much bigger spread, undoubtedly. All the other shitty disadvantages that come with this iteration (12 months for import release, 18 months for NA/EU, and PS3 exclusive) and this probably makes for the worst BB yet to catch the Japanese. Don't take me as negative, I just don't like tier discussion when none of us have the means to get exposure to most of the cast, let alone a handful of good/great players to play them. It was one of the nice things about P4U, the cast was tiny and even fewer of those were viable. It leaves lots of room for fun upsets though. I'm looking forward to the hidden Amane blow up........... Oh what, now I'm being unrealistic? =p
  22. Whether you or I have been to Japan (I have, on multiple occasions, though not during BB admittedly) is completely irrelevant to whatever you were trying to say. Simple mathematics already tell us 'DERR larger pool = increase in the number of bad players as well as good'. So congratulations. You've been to Japan to tell us first hand what nobody was pondering. I also wouldn't run to P4U as an example of anything... please, just don't. One major, in a shitty game, with only a few of Japan's talents entered, doesn't mean jack shit. If we could go back in time and throw a few more JP players into the bracket LK and BananaKen wouldn't have made top 8. Also, this game wasn't played anywhere close to it's peak. It was all but dead till prize money gave it a crutch to limp around one more time. Absolutely no disrespect to LK or Bananaken btw. I honestly think BananaKen is a genius with fighting games in general, and kudos to both of them. While individuals can win matches, I think it would be overwhelmingly clear in a team game. 5v5 Japan vs Anybody else, I'm pretty sure Japan would take 100% of the wins, 100% of the time, no matter how many times we ran it back. Gauntlet style would also work. Anything that gets the sample bigger will just continue to show how much bigger the gap is. To reiterate for you; No amount of hard work with no resources will ever compare to hard work with an abundance of resources. Also to restate my original point. Since nobody is on Japan's level, we don't need to concern ourselves with their tiers, much less talk about them like mid/low tiers can't win majors in the US. Everybody knows Ragna is god tier in America. Now can we relax and enjoy some shitty Comcast netplay? Peace and love.
  23. So 5D~A is the preferred ender? Is 236CC > 5D~A > 236CB passé at this point? Also, I hate when I get 4B+C... what's good?
  24. lol I didn't know there were people who were bothered by this. Cute. Though I guess it's more accurate to say 'non JP BBCP', as everywhere else has the same problems. A couple thousand miles between players, some of the most god awful internet trying to bridge them, extremely small player base, long periods between experience and refinement, etc. Or are you one of those people who believes you do more with less?
  25. Yeah, what I was saying originally wasn't about subs, it was about close matches or matches where you could tell both players were really competent with their character. Then after losing they try to save pride and start dicking around Tsubaki doing unsafe strings, moves, and hella basic BnBs. I usually just end up leaving at that point. It's even more obvious when they will play half the cast against you rather than pick their shit. As for tiers, nobody outside of Japan should be taken seriously when they mention tiers. Honestly, EVO is going to be so free to the JP, I'm sure 0's Bullet could come alone and win it with little struggle. Hell for that matter I'm sure someone with some brains and dedication could take a major with 'insert mid/low character'. This isn't BBCP, this is American BBCP after all.
