  1. the thing about Ragna is that Jin really needs heat to stand a chance, the moment he gets 25 heat the matchup becomes easier... but in beggining Jin can't do much, 5C will get stuffed by just about anything with hit box (seriously 5C's hittable box is.... apparently Jin's cape is prehensile) and air game is risky with ID and 6A, so Jin just has to sit there and take it till he get's enough to use hirensou, which is his only reliable reversal in this matchup, 623C doesn't have enough horizontal range.... once gets on the offense it gets much easier, but getting there is the real problem with this matchup, Jin's just ill equipped to keep Ragna out.
  2. keep the ethics of meter vs damage/oki for Ragna in the Ragna thread, this is about the matchups, and I don't see how minute differences in meter gain warrants rather arbitrary anger. speaking of Ragna, what do Ragna mains think of the Jin matchup? because the general consensus among the Jin players is that Jin is absolutely fucked. He just can't play footsies with Ragna and is basically forced on the defensive from the get go.... personally it's as bad Bang, but just below Litchi in terms of bad matchups

  5. technically it's average..... in terms of character rating, but his damage and combo length are what make it better, same with hazama. The only characters with above average character ratings for meter are Jin (does this need an explaination?), and Noel (lol) and Haku has the lowest character rating.
  6. he's better.... he can actually win once in a while now. he's better than Rachel, Tsu, and Noel.
  7. only consensus is Litchi>Bang and Tsubaki=Rachel, or is close to.

  11. yeah, but what's his oki? tech rolls prevent effective 214D mixup.... and I can't think of any way he can controll tech rolls. EDIT: thank you flyingve.
  12. what? maybe for a game without tech rolls... and Jayoku's a punish super. I just don't see him as that good. he's good, but not A+ material.

  14. lol late but Jin and Tsubaki is pretty hilarious, it's like they said "hey hate fighting Ragna? why? gdlk midrange normal that out range your reversals and 2A? how about a character with no damage, and a movelist composed of super close range normals that have no priority?" and that means I can just 2A her pressure and know that I it will work 90% of the time, and her approach is predictable... and she's one of the few characters Jin can actually zone and out range at close range.... it feels even to 5.5-4.5 Jin's advantage
  15. Rachel and Makoto have them, not Jin, we generally don't talk to each other except to talk about cool (no pun intended) shit that we see happen, or soomething cool is done by a top player.

  17. the reason it feels meh (I think it's still good) is that it's been out for a while (AFA FG's go) and FG's get old quickly, especially compared to the many other genres.

I only realized it recently good luck on clean hit CV but on topic, I find that button mashing goes away as you get used to a character, as Jin I can do my combos without mashing (besides sekka combos), but as Hazama I do find myself mashing on the mist- er I mean serpent's eggs benedict. In GG I used to try and mash out 2D>orb as Ky, then my KJ FRC combos as Johnny, but that's gone now, and I can do them easily.... except that FRC....... and I need the proper spacing....

  23. go to character select>pick Ragna>push buttons>win seriously, since you said you were going to play bang, figure out his stuff, learn his combos, his footsies, etc. it just takes time, also challenge mode combos are generall harder than your characters BnB's (basic combos), and learning from challenge mode is imo actually harder than just reading them.
