Same here lol. It's why I'm making random programming assignments for myself -_-
-
I get in a rut whenever I play for longer than like 1 hour. I just can't think straight and I start to autopilot. It's a shame because those are pretty much tournament conditions.
-
SHIMAPAN STG genow we must collab on this and make kusoge boss characters.
-
j.236A is a really good tool for shutting down her zoning if you find yourself fullscreen. This match-up I think is even for the most part. For some reason I find her more dangerous midscreen then when I'm cornered. I feel like I don't have to worry about the Steins as much.

Streaming again: Metroid Super ZeroMission GGs Sahgren, severin, Gamma, and everyone else in my room earlier. You remind me that I am still not good at this game and need to stop mindlessly pressing buttons.
-
I would play way more if this was a reality ;D
-
Ueda Kana announcer would be ballin'.

These kinds of problems you are facing all have answers that eventually come from experience. It all depends on what you want at that moment. I corner carry no matter what. I only really go for max damage combos if I know it will kill. Otherwise it is much safer to go for an easier combo that ends in okizeme. A Rachel getting guard crushed is actually pretty common since she doesn't have many options once someone gets in on her and they start their pressure. 2C is one way of keeping your opponent from pressuring (it's also risky). It also increases the chances that your opponent will either dash in and stop early to bait chair or they will want to throw you out of chair if they predict you will want to do it. If you find yourself defensive bursting you have to keep in mind you lose out on primers (this may be the case if you get Guard Crushed a lot since you are forced to block once pressured and you want to burst at times). This is very important because often times you will start to see your opponent using more of their primer breaking moves after you use a defensive burst. For example, against Ragna you might start to see more random GH / random DS. Anticipate this and counter appropriately.

Or playing Lobelia Catch with 5B / 2B lol.

Dead 360. Whoo. No more Senko no Ronde or Deathsmiles for awhile
-
So my 360 is pretty much dead. I'm getting E74 errors :X The reason? I played around 50+ Platinum matches against LostSoul. My notes from the massive session: - Her command dash is extremely good for mix-up. I recommend training yourself to react to it as well as studying when your opponent wants to use it (if ever) to make reacting to it easier. I did manage to Gold Burst it on prediction in order to clinch a win and comeback from literally no life at all. - Swallow Moon is only a really useful high/low mix-up when they use it really low to the ground. Otherwise you can react to it. - j.C and 5C will almost always beat any normal you throw out (it felt like this to me in the matches anyway). I don't recommend trying to beat her with normals alone. When in doubt, just block. Do not attempt anything without cover (pumpkin or frog). Any of these hits can lead to big damage and corner carry for Platinum. These normals alone can mean death when you are in the corner if the Platinum player spaces properly and has decent mix-up. Every now and then attempt to 6A her jump-ins but be really careful -_- - Mami Circular! LostSoul used it as an anti-air whenever I wanted to jump towards him and throw out a normal (even without meter to rapid cancel!). While not all Platinum players will play like this it's good to be aware of its uses as an anti-air. - When you do have her in corner keep an eye on her items as well as her meter. Be more cautious when she has the Magical Bat as well as 50/100 heat to use Cure Dot Typhoon as a reversal super to get out. Random Mami can also get her out. - When blocking any of her pressure, again, pay attention to her items. When she has the Magical Pan she has access to a good instant overhead. The Nyanko(really big ranged overhead) is also an instant overhead but it doesn't lead to damaging combos like the Pan does. - Zone her whenever possible. If you don't see her with Cat Missiles or Bombs I highly recommend zoning. Likewise if she does have bombs and missiles I recommend rushing her down (especially if she doesn't have that all-too-useful Bat). Without a DP (her Bat) the player will probably want to use Mami Circular as a surrogate-DP especially if they have meter to make it safe with Rapid Cancel. - Don't know what to do at a certain point? Block, block, block. I cannot stress this enough. If you don't think you can safely hit her with a normal then you probably cannot. Just keep defending until you see a clear opportunity. Not sure how I feel about this match-up. I feel like it is in Rachel's favor despite me losing more in the end. Random Mami is a psuedo-gimmick that got LostSoul the win at times. It's like if Tager's gimmick factor was put into a solid character then it'd be Platinum ;D It's a new character to get used to fighting and I'm still learning.

Me while netplaying.

Some rough testing gave me this:
-
Oops. I lied. Not all normals cancelled into projectiles (more commonly 236A Lobelia) can be IB Sledged. Some normals into projectiles can be IB > Sledge punished if IB'd far away enough. Sledge Safe normals to cancel into 236A: 6A, 3C, 5C Sledge Unsafe normals cancelled into 236A (all of these can be sledged if IB'd): 5A, 2A, 5B, 2B, 6B These are only unsafe when IB'd from a far away distance. The 236A Lobelia has to be far away enough to where Tager isn't in blockstun immediately following the normal and so he can fit a sledge in-between the cancel. Of course, Rachel should not try to throw-out Lobelia's within that range to begin with. It would be much safer to throw out a jump-cancellable normal and retreat to safety.

Yeah solid play TD. Kodim uses my color -_-
-
Tsubaki is fun yeah :D lol Puella Magi Platinum Magica

Done streaming for now. I don't really check the chat lol. So far it's an alright ROM hack. It's basically a new game which is good. I got lost as it was apparent when I took an hour just to figure out I had to use a missile somewhere to open a gate.
-
Really bored now. Currently going to stream this Metroid Super ZeroMission It's supposed to be the greatest Metroid ROM hack of all time so I'm going to be playing through it for the first time. Watch my stream @ livestream

Added stuff to the pressure section as well as some more items for the mix-up section. This means every section is filled with something now. For combos I need a corner bnb that takes 50% heat as well as any max damage combos for different situations and I think that section can be completed. Soniti's thread will probably have these but this means I have to double check the validity as well. This is all still in rough form since I am still not satisfied with the organization of the material. It'll all get polished up in due time. Thanks for helping out. Every little bit counts.

Common Rachel pressure/mix-up strings: 1) 5B > 2B > 5BB > jc > 3D > j.A > ... 2) 5B > 2B > 5B > 2D > jc > j.A > j.B > j.B > j.A (fuzzy guard) 3) 5B > 2B > 4B (overhead) 4) 4B > 2B (high to low) 5) 5B > 2B > 5B > 2D > jc > land > 2B (low mix-up) Going to also add these to the tutorial thread.
-
Yeah TD, tofurr, Gil, alex, whoever else I think play Rachel better than me. I like to take a lot of risks and it's probably why I'm not as consistent when I play different people. For example, I go for dash-in + wind grab when I'm low on health.

This might help!!!!!! But seriously. Aim for corner carry and oki all day.
