  1. Who is the fastest character in the game besides Taokaka?
  2. I got a HRAP 3SA. Do I set the nub to D, or L?
  3. I think he is upset because you clearly know jack shit about the game. Look at Tager's spot on the tier list, look at high level matches, read Tager's matchup threads. All the signs point to one truth: Tager sucks balls! Even worse, you admit it is your third day. You constantly argue back like you know more about the game than the veterans on this site. You came off as ignorant and arrogant. That is why people are getting mad at you.
  4. Not sure if this belongs in here or the newbie thread, but whatever. I just unlocked Mu and was doing the challenge mode when I got stuck at 6A, 2C, sj, JB, J2C. The combo shouldn't be hard at all, but for some reason I can't get the superjump cancel to come out. Are any of Mu's more practical combos reliant on this superjump cancel?
  5. Bang's Nox apparently can sever ties with the Boundary. Does this mean that he can cure Litchi and Arakune? It seems to me that this is going to be the case in the final game.
  6. Wait don't you main Carl... or is that a different Z0ng_one?
  7. Ctrl-f: Florida No results (Technically 2 mentions of it, just not having to do with cabinet locations)
  8. So ugh... what's the deal with Lambda vs Bang? What exactly makes the matchup such an uphill battle for Lambda?
  9. I currently use Hakumen because of his generally easymode combos, and pretty big damage. For CS I am considering Hazama, Tsubaki, or Carl. Carl is my favorite character storywise. He has a really interesting gameplay gimmicky, and I enjoy watching good Carls on youtube. However, he is difficult to use. I'll have a stick by the time CS comes out so I'll see if I can pick him up. Hazama has a really interesting playstyle. I have to try it out. I really only want to try Tsubaki because of her Astral Heat. It is so easy to combo in to it.
  10. *points to post above* Ok we already covered all the characters. If you are going to post about a character than make sure that what you posted wasn't already posted before, otherwise you are just wasting space. And if you are going to make new points then make sure the majority of those points are serious.
  11. If you like - High mobility, such as three jumps, or two airdashes - An amazing mixup game - A high risk high reward playstyle - Combos that require very good execution, but pay off really well (taunt combos) - The second longest grab range in the game - Hyper fast cats - If you don't mind few anti-air/reversal options - If you don't mind relatively low damage (although the more difficult combos have good damage) Pick and with that we have all the characters. (I think)
  12. Well my guess is that most of the newbies are playing the console version. So I would stick with CT characters for now.
  13. If you - Only like to use 2 buttons - Don't mind being hated - Like being top tier - Want a character with a nice ass - Hate Iron Tager - Have a fetish for swords, spamming, or spamming swords Pick edit.... right right, this needs to be serious. If you want a character with - With a good Drive - Good anti-air options - Amazing zoning capabilities, and the ability to play rushdown - Don't mind low hp - The ability to change the properties of some of your specials (by pressing C after D) - A nice ass - Very good normals Pick
  14. Don't let tiers effect your decision. Also you don't have to settle for one character. Just play whoever you like, like Kaqn does.
  15. So can anyone vouch for the PS3 Hori Real Arcade Pro 3-SA? Is it reliable? Do you need to mod it or is it fine if you leave it as is? Also would you personally buy it if you weren't planning on entering any serious tournaments? The most I would be doing would be the online tournaments hosted on dustloop/other sites. If your answer is "no" then would you go with a cheaper stick, or would you just stick with the PS3 pad? If the former, then what stick would you suggest?
  16. I too would recommend trying every character. I've shifted my main 5 times as I cycled through the cast. You might find someone that feels more natural to you. Of course if you do end up sticking with Noel then don't feel discouraged. From what I could tell you were pulling her combos off without too much trouble. The only problem is that you sometimes rushed into moves (especially when I was using Tager against you), or you failed to block (I kept getting you with Nu's rolling ground blade). You should also air block more.
  17. Is the 31 hit combo that starts at around 0:32 easy to perform (not set up, but actually perform, like the button presses and timing)?
  18. So I finally got my PSN ID set up and decided to play some online matches. Playing in Arcade mode for so long really screwed me up. The tactics I used to beat the CPU's do not work against humans. It also doesn't help that I got the game only recently and the people I played were pretty high levels... Anyway I need someone to play with so that I can actually learn how to not embarrass myself. I do not have a mic but I do have AIM. PSN Tag: Con_Brio1993 AIM: Obsessed1993 Location: Weston Florida My connection seems to be pretty good. I had no lag in any of the matches I played (although I only played 2 of them...)
  19. Right here Mascarpone: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_RlFUMw8QQ
  20. Hmm this is kind of odd, but I can pull of the Gear super when I am one the right of my opponent, but not on the left. And Niko I am using the analog stick. I tried using the 4 button D-pad but that didn't go over too well.
  21. Oh trust me, I don't think I can do it on my PS3 controller. I used the training mode feature and the arrows are all over the place whenever I try to do the Gear Super. Anyway my method is sort of working. I know it is against the AI, but Arcade mode is helping me get better. I'm now getting better at coordinating attacks with Nirvana, and I am getting less reckless with Carl. At some point I will return to training mode, but not until I at least get a good fight stick.
  22. Well I know I was advised to go in training mode and practice combos, but I am finding that hard to do. I'm failing basic Carl only combos because the button presses just feel so unnatural. Also I can't for the life of me do his Gear super. The analog stick just won't recognize the motion and does something else. So for now I am just going to go into Arcade mode and mess around. I figure that maybe it will help the controls feel more natural to me, and it will at least teach me how to control/use Nirvana. Once I get a fight stick I will practice in the traditional way.
  23. How do I know which vids have Dora in them? The people playing are not labelled. Does Dora always use an orange Carl? I assume the combos eventually feel natural? Right now the combos feel so unnatural that I often fail the timing. I'm having a very hard time pulling off basic Carl-only combos in training mode. These are the ones I am currently trying to perfect. Carl Only: 1. - 2A->5B->6B->623C->5B->jc->jB->dj->jB->jC/j214C 2. - 2A->2B->3C->2A->5B->jc->jB->dj->jB->jC/j214C 3. - (corner) 5B->5C->623C->5B->jc->jB->dj->jB->jC/j214C 4. - 2A->2B->3C->632146C --good for baiting bursts I assume that the jc's are jump cancels. How exactly do I jump cancel? Oh and I'm not sure if this is because I am using the analog stick, but I can't get 632146C to activate. Carl always does some other C related move whenever I try to pull it off (and yes I made sure I had 50% heat so it isn't that). Maybe I should buy a fight stick before trying to master combos.
  24. I just really liked his gimmick, and I loved the idea of attacking with Nirvana and Carl in tandem. Hmm do you know if Dio has a youtube account? I would like to see some of his videos so I can get some ideas. Anyway I don't plan on going any further than random online matches, and the occasional online tournament organized on this, and other similar sites. Though, I guess it couldn't hurt to learn the clap loop. How long should it take to master?
  25. Thanks for the response . My questions are in bold.
