I never originally said I did agree with the list, if you play Ragna and experience the matchups with people who know what they're doing he doesn't seem anywhere near what makes an S tier character right now, I'd dare say he'd be the most balanced of the cast if they dropped his heat gain slightly

Ragna shouldn't have been top in the first place but since he was probably the easiest to switch from CT-CS players just dominated with him early, like bang, so there's no surprise the lists were skewered hard. in my opinion there really shouldn't be mention of a top at this point, though my own experience leads me to believe litchi feels pretty damn far ahead of the curve right now with options, but that's my own opinion

there's a lot of talk about properly spacing the j.C, you do realize you can respace yourself while they're commiting themself to the j.C right? j.C and 5B are not universal zoning tools, I'd argue that most jump attacks can't really be seen as quality zoning tools period but that's for a different subject. the majority of 5As beat ragna's 5B, and it doesn't even need to be timed that well, throw it out and catch his hitbox, run it through training mode, it's not that difficult. 5B and j.C definitely -cannot- compare to anything like ice swords/nirvana/nails/stick/chains/hakurange/etc. ragna doesn't have anything from a decent range that'll scare anyone from trying to space him. The only thing that's keeping him so godlike right now is that he gains 50 heat (which solves his zoning problem) off smart combos that are near universal, except for the range you're depicting(without heat, at 5B range, ragna only has a 2k combo which forces you full screen if you're not near a corner, and to throw in a gamble to keep you near him, he has to only make it 1.5k just so he can stay on top of you) so I'm a little confused, why are we arguing about ragna's j.C and 5B range when spaced properly he gets very little reward without 50 heat?

there's a lot of fear to BD Ragna that i've seen thanks to all the people who do mindless hell's fangs or Gauntlet hades, not saying you should do it every time but it might tag them on block

don't you have to like press the back button once during the Belial and it'll instant block all of it a la Nu's million swords distortion? sounds like a good way to get caught with anything that's 9 frames or less, not to mention how close BE nets you on non-Barrier block

Been doing this since I started learning characters back in Slash, it's better to do this and learn then shut off your sound and turn on an mp3 player or something to get it down to visual memory as well, otherwise if there's any noise that distracts you from the rhythm you have your visual cues

Deadspike is miles ahead of DCing in a string, DCing is usually for when people are too afraid to throw out a 5A or relatively scared to poke period from pressure usually if the 5D option is open you have more safe options, like 6D-j.D for continued pressure or doing a 2D from a distance that's unpunishable by the character you're against online play you might get away with 5D-DC-3C but that particular string will get you fatal'd by the majority of the cast when they see it coming. it's better to learn your character with safe pressure then praying and hoping they don't want to throw anything out, the way you're describing your pressure it would be fodder for any smart tager, hazama, or anyone else with solid reversal options that net large chunks of damage. I also noticed you put down 2C as jcable when it's not, it's just +1 so it's safe to jump after it but it's not a JCable normal.

why are you trying to mix in dash cancels when people are trying to DP you? you have dead spike and jump cancels accessable in extremely important parts of your string

for anyone who reads the ragna oki thread or has looked around 3C is the prefered ender unless you get 22C oki, forcing emergency tech then getting a safe jump is -miles- ahead of any other option unless you REALLY want the meter gain.

Tager destroying new players is exactly what they need mashing tech, mindless rushdown, projectile spam, random dps all get punished by him severely, so I'd imagine if you had a brain you'd realize these are not good options when you get hit for 4000

couldn't J.B catch them otw down? asking because J.B is 100% PR also air GH sounds like it might go over them on most characters if they crouch block midscreen confirm/deny?

why can you TK BE but not TK GH? seeing as TK GH CH can net sooooooooo much damage? does his head invlun really carry over TK GH?

nothing's safe at the start of the round, just focus on poking, catching them not looking for an IAD, or use your range to move in slowly

boop, just testing around with some stuff 2c fatal-3c-carnage scissors-dash 5B/5C-HF(1)-22c-X gonna do some more testing around it, looks pretty crazy in general, but begs the question why do anything off fatal but blood kain 7k combos if anyone can warrant 6k out of that setup lemme know, I'm working on it and have only been able to get around 5.3k edit: actually on some of the cast you don't need to dash after CS at all, just throw out 5C and Hf(1) to 22c, fatal powahhh
