  1. Got a little more time in. After the 3 hits of HS Dive, yeah, she crosses through. If you started far away you'll probably wind up just on the other side of the opponent, and if you started point-blank you'll end up about 2.5 or 3 character widths away. Counter-hit S.Stroke still pops the opponent up high the same way that it does in AC+. Counter-hit HS.Stroke has a lower, lingering launch to facilitate the new jump cancel point. In case anyone hadn't realized, her new forward airdash covers about twice distance and duration of her backwards one (so it feels nothing like Millia's). Two in a row look like they travel more than full screen. Also, as you'd expect, you can high jump and double airdash, or double jump and single airdash.
  2. I've got the door covered so Johnny can leave early. Anyone else who wants to come early will have me to deal wi---ahem, play with. EDIT: Also, anyone else interested in the Canada Day weekend thing with the MTLers, let me know. I'm serious about going that Sunday.
  3. Actually, turns out that Saturday I've got a friend's wedding to attend, so it would have to be the Sunday.
  4. That's cool. If there's no real delivery options, I could always pack some food. Am I right to guess that you'd want to go on the Saturday?
  5. Is anyone else here interested in the Canada Day thing in Gore? If I could get enough people to help with gas I think I'd be up for driving. I've got family in the next town over actually, so driving around there is not altogether unfamiliar to me. Only concerns: - Are there enough GG players coming? - Food situation (I've got a bad reaction to nightshades, so pizza and pretty much anything with a red sauce or potato-based is never an option for me) Do they deliver fried chicken out there? Or Chinese? Maybe this'll be an HQ week? (Wheeeere's Johnny?)
  6. Ah, new page. 1 works for me.
  7. Well, if you want me to show with a second console and monitor, let's commit to a time before my other friends steal me from you guys. There any time anyone's not available tomorrow?
  8. Can't make Friday, but can make at least part of the day on Saturday. 60% shorter commute to your house now, w00t.
  9. Hah, I tuned in right at that bodying. Not really sure how that matchup works, but I'd wager that throw > optic barrel was not what you wanted to be doing? Kappa Analyze that footage. Channel all that salt into drilling muscle memory and researching the matchup. Watch Batman Begins for inspirational quotes or something.
  10. From playing around with a community member's Vita copy for a few minutes last night, I can confirm the increased c.S-registration range, and bigger hitbox on 5HS. Not only could I actually hit 2K 6P 5HS on Sol in the corner (even if I gave him a bit of space), I could occasionally get c.S>6P>5HS to connect off of a hover dash j.HS. For that to happen, it seemed like I had to gattling into 5HS late (delayed timing) so that Sol's hurtbox had a few frames to drop down. It's definitely much improved over its old habit of always wiffing on Sol's stubby legs. FB Note is fun. Like the normal notes, it builds extra hits as it travels, but point blank, one note is still 6 hits and (at least if TK'd) gives you time to mix up. The thing is that if you don't press up or down, the second note comes out literally on top of the first and you get twice the hits (in the same amount of frames I think) and crank that guard-bar. Otherwise, as you've probably seen, they control similarly to regular notes, just with the second note moving in the opposite direction, and each up/down input adding/subtracting vertical velocity. Just keep in mind that they cross themselves up if you try to turn them back towards each other; they don't stick back together as the doubled note unless you really finesse your inputs. The increased length on the airdash also seems to make fast-fall VCL quite easy as well (or else, I'm way more comfortable on pad than stick and never realized it). Much joy. Wish I remembered to try the HS Sultry Performance. Am I right to read that it will cross-through even on block? So my YOLO tk'd HS Dives might actually require some thought to punish?
  11. Not when you're never on Twitter and have hundred of posts to sift through. xD
  12. Is there any way to set up Twitter to send an alert to my e-mail when you tweet on there like how the forums do?
  13. To shamelessly take another turn posting, did anyone else notice that Cross Counter is starting to release Guilty Gear segments with Tasty Steve and Genesis? Today they broke down the Xrd trailer and gave beginners an introduction to GGXXAC+. CC of course has almost 65k subscribers, so the exposure is nothing to scoff.
  14. And I still don't know how to play Bella. Damn shame to see HQ go, but we'll find ways to keep things going. I'll be moving into Kanata in less than a month so that's 45 km off my round trip to anywhere in the city. Xbox, Evo monitor, fight sticks... it'll soon be a whole lot easier to bring mine into the fold for whatever we end up doing.
  15. 1. sage (or was it something crazier like sagelicious? haha) 2. Lofobal Think with me, the safer bet is to assume I'm not going. Money, healing, family chaos, etc.... I'm out of practice in every game right now too, so my performance would probably be shameful anyway. xD
  16. The closer it gets, the less likely it's looking, mostly on the healing front. Unless my healing factor finally kicks it up (which it might...), it's looking like two weeks from now these surgical wounds will still need way too much attention to spend a whole day out. I'll be there tonight. Give her a try and see how you like the feel, I say, even if it's just for a few matches to see how you like her neutral game and options. Did you end up picking up +R on your Vita though? If so, you gotta let me test out Zappa's new sword on that shit. :D And SG... I play a team now. Let's see how it fairs against that zoning of yours.
  17. Just think: We could have all been Tweeting about "Guilty Gear XXX" instead! Are they unconsciously implying that Xrd won't be da hot seks?
  18. I don't know that we can say that it's really a slower game from that footage. Maybe slightly in combos (even longer hitstop + camera change for some launchers?), but the neutral game doesn't look slowed down. Backdash seemed like standard Sol backdash speed, Ky's jump arc looked the same to my eyes, and the dashes after the last clashes looked true to the characters as we know them. We'll see what IAD'ing looks like soon I'm sure. I'm certain they're not going to turn this into BB. My love for GGXXetc exists in a vacuum anyway. The existence of Xrd has no bearing on it. Random aside: They're playing with fire if they throw music with vocals at us from all angles. I'm sure Ishiwatari won't give us anything as mindnumbingly painful as SF4's "Indestructible", but it's still a dangerous road to walk when that shit gets stuck in heads.
  19. *Cannot into P$3.* Seriously, if I could have both I would, but, hey, it's not like I have been playing, thank you HQ.
  20. Patch has hit Xbox, so I can has new Ms. Fortune combos.
  21. Word on the street is that Johnny might be going to Toronto on the weekend, which could mean no HQ this Friday.
  22. Oh, Tek, have I got combos... but yeah, I know nothing about P4A matchups and haven't had the time to really get used to the system mechanics yet because no one's been repping the game at HQ since I picked it back up. Unfortunately, I'm in the same boat as LWX too: I live a $20 drive out of town and have got to be conservative with my cash if I want to keep from having to sell my car. I'm still committed to making it into Ottawa to stay serious with at least one game these days, but, you know... Guilty Gear. xD Things should get a bit better once my surgical wounds close and I can jump into some quick and easy side job to fund more trips into town. (And, of course, in the long term, I'm hunting for something stable that'll let me move into the city limits and travel to other cities' tournaments.) However, right now I'm living off the proverbial money under my mattress, so I've gotta pick and choose. It's mostly us Guilty Gear players that play Persona anyway so you should come to HQ with us and barter a bit of Guilty Gear time for a bit of Persona time. You know that we always want more Guilty Gear players. Consider coming out this Thursday!
  23. Looks like I'm there for HQ tomorrow but not Friday. Everybody come body me as I play my first KOF game against a live opponent. That and the usual Dustloop-games gold.
