  1. Damn well this will be interesting. Eh oh well I wanna learn a new character anyway. I don't have a solid sub character and while I do have a unique style with Tager, it would be nice to have a good backup. As for those videos Phaethon put up, I can't believe I did that good against TaoFTW. I usually get stomped on...Must have been having a good day. Oh well I'm gonna try and beat him eventually
  2. Well if the people running this want to do it, I'll help however needed. Setting up, moving stuff, coordinating matches whatever was needed I could sure as hell try to help. But I still stand by not making the people running this do more than feasibly possible. If it can't be done, then there would be no point in trying to force it since it would probably lead to other issues...
  3. Wow...oh boy this'll be fun. I didn't realize there were so many options with him. Guess I'm so used to Tager and his rather simple combo system. Oh i'll probably need a week or 2 to get these down. Any of those combos work in CT too? I could learn at home to make it a little faster if any of them worked like that. Nothing like a good challenge!
  4. Well in norcal we have an abundance of Tagers...I think there were a total of 5 Tager users at SVGL today. Of course me and Renegade were trying our subs out today. My favorite was when I decided to use Bang against Renegade. He was so thrown off I almost beat him! I'm pretty bad with Bang...I know how to use him but I don't know the basics for shit. I just kinda throw out random attacks and hope for the best. I need to learn my basic crap first for now.
  5. Sweet well next time I see you and there isn't a massive crowd around the game, I'll accept being tutor'd by one of the few Bang mainers I've seen. I'm surprised I don't see a lot more people using Bang there given how good he is now.
  6. Hell I'd be willing to help as best as I can. I've got my Wii setup and I'd bring it in a heartbeat if it was needed. Only thing I don't have would be arcade sticks for it since I was just lazy and used the GCN controller to play.
  7. Oh hell yeah I agree with that. I've been using Tager since day one of CT and it was a insanely easy to learn his CS combos. Only thing I had to really work at was AC->AC(whiff)->6B that got kinda annoying because I have a bad habit of not being able to do 623 on command unless its in a combo...Not sure why but I can't do it so it prevents me from pulling out psychic colliders and stuff like that. It was easy to learn most of Ragna's stuff too but I'm still not great with him. But was really stupid is that back in CT, I learned one of Ragna's BnBs strictly from getting hit by it enough times I was able to replicate it on my first try...I'm kinda strange like that Oh and Dacid, next time I see you, I wouldn't mind a little help with learning Bang. Its a hell of a lot easier to learn it when I can listen to someone as opposed to just reading a bunch of text.
  8. Really? I didn't find Bang's BnBs too complex, just tight on timing. I still mess up the the 6A after 6C->j.D. But other than that, it wasn't hard to learn. Took me all of 20 minutes to get it right. I think I saw you teaching him that combo one day. Are you a tall skinny guy with long blonde hair??
  9. Yes he is using Bang. He actually taught me a BnB cause I'm thinking of learning him too. But hes not too great. I've played him many many many times and he doesn't beat me that often...and when I get serious, he never wins. He needs to learn to not be so predictable. Once he uses all the nails, its really easy to read him. So yeah next time you see him, give him some mixup ideas. He pretty much relies purely on jump-ins. Rin, I dunno if I could get that to happen again, I got lucky I didn't get smacked out of it. But I do enjoy amusing the masses so I'll see what other crazy shit I can cook up.
  10. Yeah Panel you're right I'm pretty much always there for at least part of the day even though I'm the most quiet person there. I actually always go before my last class of the day at 330 so I'm usually there from like 1-230 and then I usually come back after. Sadly, my shyness issues makes it harder for everyone to get along with me. So if anyone wants to talk to me, literally just start talking and i'll start to ease up after a little while. Anxiety is a bitch. Everyone can just call me "Orion" if they want. If you want to be formal though, my name is James. I figured its only fair that I tell everyone my name given that I know everyone else's names just from listening. I don't mind either way. I've also acquired the name "Tager Guy" from one of the Technika players...Poor guy has no clue I actually know his name. haha.
  11. Nice video. I loved the combo riding montage/venue reputation intro. Too bad you had the technical problems. I wanted to see my match against qwerty's Hakumen. That was such an epic match! Oh well, I can't blame you for having technical problems.
  12. Damn right its good enough to go. I'm gonna need that alone time to work on learning my sub characters more. They aren't nearly good enough to use against everyone at SVGL eyet but they're close. Well, my Ragna is close, my Bang is far from good, I know one BnB and thats it...damn I suck. EDIT: I'm apperently oblivious to the the previous posts...my bad. I love talking about the wrong things:psyduck:
  13. Huh I guess I never knew how dead it was at MGL. I 've never been there so yeah...Guess I 'll just stay at SVGL.
  14. I love my team of Zero/Karas. I swear in fighting games, I'm either using the big fatties like Tager from BB or Ike from SSBB or I use the really technical, fast and low defence characters like Chipp from GG or Karas from TvC. But I fucking love Zero! His mixup and pressure game is just outright brutal due to him having 4 different dash possibilities. Also Zero's keep away game is solid with his buster and his wave attacks. Karas I love just for the sake of being annoying. I screw with people so bad they hate me for it. Countering with him is so much fun!
  15. Well hell if MGL needs some more players for practice, I'd be willing to head over there whenever everyone else was going. Yeah it would be out of the way given that SVGL is literally 10 minutes away from my house but I wouldn't mind the drive out to MGL if you guys want another player to kick the crap out of...
  16. Phaethon is the only Carl i've seen at SVGL. I haven't even seen any other Carl players at all there. And there is one lone Rachel player too I was playing him yesterday. Actually put up a fight I just felt bad for the guy cause he had to work his ass off to get 8-10 combos in order to kill me whereas I only need 2-3 to kill him. If I only had the knowledge of Rachel's standard tactics, I would've had a much easier time with it. I swear on normal days, you only see Tagers and Bangs on any day other than wednesday unless like Tao or Panel and some of those guys show up...
  17. Oh no worries its all good. I'll be there for Singles on the 27th so hopefully i'll be able to see something from that. Too bad the videos from the last Singles Tournament aren't up yet or else I could use those cause I know at least one of my matches got recorded there.
  18. Yeah i'm glad that the mods on Dustloop in real life are actually nice people and willing to help. Some of the other forums I've been on the mods are kinda stuck up. I had a good talk with Goryus about how to deal with Lambdas and now thats one of my easiest matchups except against Goryus himself. Played against 3 of them at the tournament(well technically 2, but I played the same guy twice) But yeah, I'm gonna find some extra help and get ready to kick some ass in 2 weeks. I'm shooting for higher than 7th this time. Hope more people go though just to make it that much more fun and competitive.
  19. I need some help with this matchup. I'm so inexperienced with it that I have no clue what to do. It doesn't help that the only Arakune player I see frequently is CopperDabbit...This is seriously my worst matchup So I need some advice on when to try and hit back. I'm so lost when I'm cursed I can't even think of a possible time to try and poke out of the pressure. Blocking the whole time doesn't usually work out too well either to due getting guard crushed. I suppose maybe I'm just not being ballsy enough to try anything due to the fact that he can take 70% of my health in one shot. Any help is much appreciated.
  20. Well I'm utterly inexperienced at playing agaist Arakune. I swear its like watching CT Tager vs Nu when I play against Dabbit. Dabbit and Willie are the only 2 I've seen at SVGL and they're both incredibly good. I need to read up on how to approach the matchup, I seriously just end up panicing in a corner and getting stomped on cause there is just so much shit going on I have no clue how or when to react...
  21. Hey no worries. You really did a great job, I felt kinda bad for sticking you with the tougher matchups. But its all good, everyone has a bad day. You can get revenge in 2 weeks! In case you didn't notice Chun, I was your partner. I'm relatively new to the forums so I'm not surprised no one recognizes me. Although I feel slightly stalker-ish cause I can pick out a majority of the other players there (mainly the mods...and I even know most of they're names too.) and no one even knows my damn name due to my shyness issues. And I personally think Renegade should've used Tager. His Tager is just evil and I was hoping to get a rematch against him since I've been learning a few tricks due to my vast amount of free time...
  22. Damn good tournament people. Although I felt bad for my partner, poor guy was having a bad day but he still did a great job and some of his advice really helped me...too bad I had got stuck up against Dabbit twice. Once in the first round and again in the losers bracket. Awful matchups for me with 2 Lambdas and Arakune. I can't believe I managed to beat those Lambdas I guess I was just so used to getting my ass handed to me by Goryus that I assumed it was always gonna be a hard match. But I had a hell of a time playing qwerty's Haku. That was a damn good match. Are the videos gonna be put up anytime soon? I've never actually watched myself play, I wouldn't be surprised if I found some problems just by watching myself. Of course i'm awful so i'd probably find tons of problems with my Tager...
  23. Really? hmm...I guess i'm just going off of past experiences with games that got released in Japan first. A lot of games I wanted always came out a good 4 months before the US or they would just be bitches and never release it here... And if anyone needs proof of it, IGN has a short article on it. Apperently Famitsu confirmed it for them.
  24. Too bad CS won't be out on consoles by April. CS was just announced to be released on consoles in Japan this summer. International release is likely another 4 or 5 months after that...So you better start hitting up everyone who has a CS board and hope for the best!
  25. Unl Tager's GETB is only 4C? Damn, I thought it was just 4BC. Damn, now its even easier! Although the pull on it is ridiculous even for an unlimited character... Anyone else catch that his 2D now a full screen charge that will hit up to 4 times??? Also he has a forward dash and both a back air dash and a forward air dash. His ground forward dash is absolutely awesome. He starts out slow and then he turns into a damn train and just tramples the whole fucking stage! Of course because of that, his standard walking speed is dreadful now! He goes about as fast as Rachel's frog in CS...His forward air dash is hilarious because it looks like hes trying to fly but he hardly goes anywhere. Its about the same distance as his regular backdash. And he also the power to double jump now too! So in other words, they made him a normal moving charcter with really odd speed fluctuations... His Drives start up about 3 times faster but have horrible lag time after. Its quite the pain in the ass to time it.
