What about Higanbana/Mesomeso-san for silly guest character shenanigans? Though they should probably wait for their own anime series to come out first. And I guess that they simply didn't draw Dlanor properly yet, she does seem to lack quite a lot of animation frames.

About tiers: you know, our local playgroup has about 1.5 Makotos in it, simply because everyone hates her guts. We also have a single Noel, but he doesn't play too often. On the last tournament we had, everyone was playing different characters except for two Ragnas and two Hakus. I wish it will stay that way after Plus comes out.

I think they don't even have their own abilities yet, as I saw Resurrection of Erika/Dlanor side. Seems like Erika has a taunt/counter move when she's picking her ear. Man, I like the way she's animated already, certainly one of the characters who wins from non-Ryukishi art the most.

Nemesis is so hardcore, he never goes backwards: he turns around and goes forward. Nice. Not the most exciting update for me, but both of them are worthy additions to the roster.

Well I, for one, considered her constant exploits of the detective status to be against the second rule (and the sixth, to some extent), as she has no way to learn about the meta level of the game without going out of the narration. And then there's the whole Bern deal... But she introduced Dlanor to the story, and that's enough for me to pardon her.

I'll try to ignore the Noel argument in a Plat thread and just say that I like that they're making the more useless items more viable, especially their SUGOI versions. Was there ever any reason to promote the Bat? Now there is, and it's damn awesome! I'm getting ready to get even more hate from my playgroup, heh.

VS screen? Nah, surely that's a character select screen, right? Judging by the structure of the screen, it seems that you may also use the playable characters as Assists or something, and those "card" Youkais also work as Assists, but are not playable. Still curious about how it will turn out.

Why is it so that I'm more excited for THIRD season of Carnival Phantasm than for the PC port of MB? The limited edition thing sucks, but both parts of the package are awesome, so if you do have the opportunity to order it, go for it. EDIT: It also seems that this PC version won't have a network mode. Now that may make me sad.

Oh, almost forgot about this game. Yeah, it looks very cool for a 2D fighting game with 3D graphics, since it looks more like KoF-like sprites than 3D models, and animation is respectable. Can't tell much about the game mechanics yet, but it seems to have everything that should be in any self-respecting fighting game. Staying moderately hyped for this.

The fact that it's 360 only for now makes me die a little inside. I've never watched the anime (or read the manga), but the artstyle seems pretty cool, and I love me some Japanese aesthetics. Too bad that all I will be able to do is watch it on Youtube.

I guess it is partially my fault for having so many threads appear so soon, but I don't see anything bad about it. When I try to register, it highlights my country and language fields and says that I need to fill them, even though I already did. Maybe that's because I choose Russia as the country and English as the language? In other news, we're having our biggest tournament, MFA 2011, at the end of August. I so totally need to learn Platinum more, because I don't want to play Tager there. Sure, Tager is something of a Russian top tier, constantly taking second places, but the guy who plays him on such level will probably switch to Plat, too.

So, about those balance changes. Do you think that Plat will ever get a new item? Does she actually need one? Is there something in her playstyle that could be upgraded by that? I, for one, think that she should have a bit more defensive options. Too bad that bat is superior to pretty much anything else she may have. //And that Noel General bashing was more of a joke, people. I don't even visit it often enough to make proper judgment.
