  1. when people say mashing to get away is bad, they mean while you're under pressure, not while being combo'd. while your opponent is comboing you, mash on A B and C. as soon as you notice you've teched (meaning your opponent dropped the combo or the combo ended) stop mashing and block. it's worth noting that there are situations where it's advantageous to not tech, but it's generally a good idea to tech as soon as possible.
  2. qwerty commentary is nice because he knows what he's talking about chun commentary is annoying because he has no idea what he's talking about
  3. i'd also like to nominate kayeff for translating a lot of stuff for the community, most recently the BBCS2 mook frame data.
  4. playing a harder/different character improves the way you play the game, and fighting games in general. if you get as good with, say, jin as you are with makoto, then your makoto will in turn probably be better. certain characters require good spacing more than others, utilizing meter, etc. it can really make your main take on a new light, in my experience.
  5. A)yes, she's been training for the bowling league all her life. little known fact. B)no, tao only plays with professional approved bowling balls C)no, because she doesn't play amateurs
  6. rachel's abare is much better than tsubaki's, she also has better normals, the ability to zone, etc etc

  10. it's best not to take anything TD says to heart, he's kind of an idiot
  11. this is more of a general material/case question, but i've seen some stick makers (particularly souji) make balltops with custom designs on them, how does he do this?
  12. this already exists on youtube with playlists and favorites :/
  13. you don't need an imp, though it is an option. you can just use a switch and it works the same as an imp, it just doesn't switch automatically.
  14. if you're buying on lizardlick they don't come with balltops anymore, you have to buy them seperately.
  15. wood is used the most just because of it's availability and how easy it is to work with, but i've seen cases made out of everything from plexiglass to gun cases to shoeboxes. you can get creative with what you make your case out of, but i'd recommend wood if it's your first stick.
  16. go for the square 4-way, not the octagon 8-way. it's slightly more accurate and it's the arcade standard for fighting games.
  17. www.slagcoin.com for general info and tutorials www.lizardlick.com for parts
  18. i would assume that the trailer is in widescreen not because they made some ridiculous decision to get rid of sidebars, but because it looks better and it's a trailer. guys need to stop worrying about aksys doing dumb stuff, i trust them with my lolis~
  19. spark also knows how to block, maybe he would be a match for tokido HMMM
  20. will the videos have someone talking over them explaining things, or no?
  21. i love sticks like this so much <3
  22. tager pressure is mostly scary because people overestimate how good he is up close; they're so scared of getting 360d or 720d that they act in a predictable and panicky way, and a good tager will mess you up for acting like that. tager pressure does have a lot of holes though. for example when i fought osuna i eventually just realized "hey, i'm just going to mash jump out because eating an AC combo is a lot better than getting 360d or something else." and it worked, he couldn't do anything about it because tao has such a strong way to interrupt anything he does with j.A/j.C, or just block. simple stuff.
